a few years back 2 of those lions escaped . they didnt leave the zoo but were stopped by the 2nd fence, caused a bit of drama police and all the red lights.
We don’t use the word ‘downtown’ to describe the city centre here in Oz. We either just say ‘the city’ or more often ‘the CBD’, short for Central Business District. Cheers,
I hope we haven’t started caring about that too much. Hope you had a chance to get to melbourne we only care about the coffee. If you didn’t visit us it’s more like reading the book.
I live in Sydney and the beauty of the harbour and city skyline never gets old, it's an expensive place to live but given the choice I wouldn't live anywhere else
If you come to Brisbane: Southbank, GoMA, Brisbane Botanic Gardens, City Hall, Howard Smith Wharves, Kangaroo Point and Christian Jacques Bakery, Mt Coot-Tha, Toowong Cemetery, Sir Thomas Planetarium, Mt Ngungun (easy climb, amazing views), Moreton Island. 😊
Since Sydney is on the East Coast, our sunsets are behind the Blue Mountains to the west. Our sunrises are on the Tasman Sea (Pacific Ocean) horizon, facing New Zealand. Western Australia has glorious sunsets over the Indian Ocean, like Vancouver or California.
Oh my god, I went to Sydney in November last year. Loved how lush and gorgeous the city is and the harbour is just amazing! I stayed in North Sydney then and you guys walked the same paths as me! Love it!
@@brittanymorgan09 They just opened the new metro so next time you can catch the metro from north sydney (Victoria Cross) under the harbour and be in Barangaroo (Darling Harbour) in 2 minutes and the city (Martin Place) in 5 minutes. I don’t think I have heard one complaint - everyone loves it.
Brittany, it's wonderful to see you both enjoying the new places and exploring Sydney.💖 The modern architecture of the buildings is impressive (especially when you see them from the distance).👍Thanks for showing us the beautiful scenery around the city. We're excited for new adventures with you both👏. Lots of love!💖
great..your staying in Nth Sydney. Great part and not often traveled by tourist. For a beer head up the Pacific hwy to The Union pub and you must try The Oaks in Neutral Bay... 10 minute bus ride (depending on traffic) down Military Rd. OOo dont forget The Blues point pub.
Thanks for the suggestions! We thought we had enough time with 9 days in Sydney but we barely made a dent 😔 will have to return to get to the north Sydney breweries!
Welcome to Australia 😊 Sydney is a great place to start, but Australia has a huge variety of landscapes and streetscapes, so I hope you get to explore further afield as well!
Thanks! Unfortunately we only had enough time for Sydney on this trip (had to leave NZ due to visas expiring and needed to be in Sydney to get on a cruise) but we'll definitely be back for a proper trip in the future!
@@brittanymorgan09 Wow! I'm surprised you said that, what about the people where would you say has the more friendlier people? Also are you already back in Canada?

I found Sydney similar to Vancouver a bit but all the plants and animals were different and Sydney is more beautiful I think! Toronto is blah to me haha
@@brittanymorgan09 I agree Toronto is suffering from big city syndrome aka concrete jungles. Sydney has been adding lots of pedestrian friendly zones and lots of greens in recent years. That’s interesting I thought Brisbane would look more like Vancouver and Perth is like Calgary.

I'm telling you, its not tropical or hot at the moment in sydney... we havent gone above 23-24C for the last 2 weeks ... its well and truly coming towards winter
It's all about perspective. We came from a dry, cool city so it absolutely felt hot and humid to us 🥵 it might not feel that way to you if you live there and are acclimated to it.
It's hot AF for us being from a dry city in Canada or Nelson in NZ where we lived the last 7 months. We would never ever survive a summer in Aussie haha 😂
@@brittanymorgan09 Summer in Sydney/Melbourne is usually pretty temperate with temperature rarely going over 30C and humidity wise is similar to Southern California (not as dry as Calgary though). This autumn has been unusually warm due to the impact of La Niña weather pattern. You do get a few days of 40C plus and maybe a dozen of 30C days between December and February, again depending on the weather pattern (La Nina or El Niño)

No way! I’m a Canadian who’s been in New Zealand the past year, and following your vid’s for helpful advice and we’re also going to Aussie this week 😂
Awesome!! I hope you have a blast in Aussie! 🍻
Please don’t call it Aussie. That’s a Kiwi thing and won’t endear you to many. Aussie is an Australian person, Oz is the country

Go Girl welcome to Sydney I'd love to go to Canada one day but all I can think of is ice and snow
Thank you!! Canada can be an absolute paradise in the summer though 😊 or autumn in the eastern part.
If you want the best sunsets ... you need to go to PERTH, for sunset over the Indian Ocean. Or Broome
.. anywhere on the West Coast. Or Darwin.

Bondi Packed🤣🤣 , that's not packed, there was only about 5% or what would normally be there to call it packed.
Wild 😂😂

The animals at Sydney zoo have the best view in the entire world. If you are an animal in a zoo you would love to be housed in Sydney. 😄✌️

It's an awesome city, just jump on public transport to get around and you can get everywhere.. instead of paying for a tour.

Bondi looked empty, some days there’s 10,000 people on the beach
Oh my god haha I think we would have liked it a LOT less if it was that busy 😅
Keep an eye open for Vegemite and cheese scrolls in the bakeries, their rather tasty and a great way to experience Vegemite 😋🇳🇿
