I recently ordered and received a fluid from Esslinger named "Security Brand Hairspring Dip". It states that it contains a-Propyl Bromide (stabilized). I have yet to test it out but I will test it on a junk hairspring and pallet fork to verify it is indeed safe for the stones.
Wonderful vid. Nice and simple. Excellent!!! The Seikopath
Valuable info about alcohol damaging the setting of the stones. Thanks.

Indeed a wise idea to test on scrap material first, but please do use any cleaning solvents in a well ventilated area :)
Can i use a infraredlight for drying?
Or is it too hot?
Probably too hot and it would melt the shellac and so the stones would become misaligned :)
Great stuff here!
Would you know if "Perc", or dry cleaning solution would affect Shellac as IPA does?.
