Noel is making really good progress, you'll not be short of hard-core for the extension, but I wish he had a labourer, such hard graft, fun knocking it down but not so much fun having to remove the debris. The house looks so large on the inside and the stone walls are beautiful. Thanks for the update.
When everybody else leaves you Noel - count on ol' Roy to stay, haha! You did great work - wife will be so happy haha. Seriously though, it's terrific that you stay behind so you can move this project along all the faster. Keep well.
That’s a lot to tackle by oneself, but what a great job Noel is doing! Some of those large chimney stones could be recycled and used to build a beautiful fire-pit in the yard.
@@FrancesAnnSquire yes, he will be using them for the porch at the front of the house. We have an iron fire pit that Noel made, but a stone oven would be great. 👍
Noel we worry for you up ladders all on your own hope you have some kind of back up but you are doing grand but be careful and tc from us then oldies 🤗🤗👍👍👍
Your cottage is in a far better condition than the cottage that Camper vibe is doing the walls in there's were leaning and the whole wall with the chimneys had to come out.
SO impressed with the work you’re getting done! All stuff I’m sure I need to do but am too scared to 😂 the house is going to look beautiful when you’re finished, and the original stone work is so nice they really did such a lovely job on it when building
@@morrigans_cottage Yes it’s remarkable really how much of a transformation it is since taking the plaster off. This will be how it will look on the outside, with a small section left exposed inside. Your house will be lovely too, and is a bit more functional than ours to begin with, with you having a usable kitchen. We had no choice but to strip it right back. Thanks for your kind words. I enjoy watching your progress and hope you’re not waiting too much longer for the inspection. 😊❤️
@@TheHiddenHouseIreland Awh thank you! Love watching your progress as well! Hopefully we’ll both end up with finished houses around the same time! The stone will look beautiful whatever patches or sections you decide to keep :)
Roy definitely has a poker face, time to play blackjack with him for dog biscuits. You need to get one of those hand held jackhammer tools, make breaking up the fireplace a lot less work for you. It’s got to be lonely, hard to keep slogging by yourself.
it is a shame that you're not keeping or replacing the chimney, as i think all cottages should have a fireplace of some sort , does give a cozy feel thanx for sharing
🥹 Noel and Jill 💛 Hoping that soon you'll be together... I think you said at Christmas Seems so lonely out there Thankfully Roy is a great card player Strongz! 🙏
@@Scotty7268 I said that at the beginning. He said it’s tricky pushing the it into the crevices, but then he also complained of sore hands. I suggested he used some thick barrier cream.
Jill - I don’t think I’ve heard you ever explain why you can’t live there with Noel during renovations. Do you have to return to England to work? I would be so worried about him enjoying himself.
Looking good! And very useful seeing what you're uncovering for when we get round to taking our chimneys out! 🙌🏻 Will you be using the chimney stones in any extension to the house?
It’s a lonely job at this time. It will be wonderful when you can all be together.
@@lovelyskull3483 One day … and we’ll look back fondly on this time. 😊❤️

Bit by bit. Doing a great job. Take care

Noel is working so hard! Roy is a good companion humoring him in the card game.
I know, I’m amazed that he sits so well, and looks really sad that he doesn’t know how to play. 🤣

@@tracybush8115 Certainly is. Thankfully the weather has been kind and he’s been able to crack on.
Roy looked bemused with his card hand😳 the rainbow is a good positive omen for your build. Good to see your progress😀👍
He’s trying so hard but keeps losing! 🤣 Yes, a sign a promise 🌈❤️
Imagine Roy playing a game of cards 😂ever so loyal Great job taking the beams down.

Nice music as background to the demolition, especially the drum solo! So much work, but it's all forward!
Yes, he’s getting there, and there’s an important milestone happening in the next few days. Stay tuned…😊🙌
Binge watching your channel, loving watching the projects.
Ah wonderful to hear. There was quite a bit of unexpected drama in the early days! Great to have you on board 😊❤️

Hadn’t heard of Camper Vibe but just checked them out. That lime recipe they’re mixing is like something out of Macbeth! 😮

Noel does have a kanga which requires the generator to be on. He’s using hammer and chisel higher up for some film footage. 😊

@@nanoresmith2697 I’m sure it will be before Christmas, probably November latest. Weather will determine when they need to pause for the season.
A wee bit of second hand scaffolding would be handy for u. Can always be solder on afterward.
@@marcusd2380 Good point.
What will you use for heating, remember we get alot of power-cuts here in Ireland, due too storms etc,so you will need a back up ,ie stove?.
