OMG this looks exactly like the plane that landed on HWY 13 Southbound south of Osage, MO north of Humansville, MO. I remember the exact area they landed as I was traveling about 4 miles behind traveling southbound when all of a sudden this plane keeps getting lower and lower over head and you could tell he was having engine problems because the propeller kept going off and coming on then he was getting really low and all the cars up ahead of me started slowing down as the piolet brought the plane down on the Highway!! Talk about an incredible thing to watch, I was amazed!!!

Good emergency off airport emergency landing. Almost textbook. The transponder should have been set to 7700 and the pilot and passenger doors should have been cracked open.
When I did my flight test out of St-Hubert we did a simulated engine failure and I selected this exact same stretch of highway as my emergency landing site.
The consequences of this could have been far worse if there was speed cameras on that road....lol. Imagine the guys face when he reviews the film - 186mph in a 60MPH? lol. Even worse, imagine if there were any stop signs or roadworks......lol. Road ahead narrows.

Internationally, yes. Nationally, not required. Pilots and controllers are required to speak English but if they can communicate in the national language more efficiently, it is allowed. Especially in emergency scenarios. ICAO L10/II 5.2.1.2. "Radio communiocations air-ground are to be made in the language in which the ground station normally operates or in English."
I do not think pilots are reqquired to speak English, at least not in my country. Air controllers need to be able to speak English and foreign pilots need it, but local pilots can speac local language they are nto allowed to fly abroad if they do not speak English though.
As long as they speak one of the ICAO's official languages (French, English, Russian, Spanish, Chinese and Arab), they can use it anywhere on earth, except if ATC asks for another language.

To ensure that the doors can still be opened, even if the airframe is bent in the landing/crash.
Never preemptively open the doors during an emergency landing if you are crashing into a bee hive.
