For those of you that are saying they were having an affair: The reason most people won’t move to evict a tenant from an illegal dwelling is because once the eviction is filed the courts will come after the owner to break down the apartment. This means that the owner will have to pay hefty fines to the city and literally break the walls of the bedroom/kitchen/bathroom. The landlord would be required by the city to hire a licensed contractor for the job as well. I believe that’s the real reason why he wasn’t moving to evict tenant.

As for the divorce - all divorces are messy, you can't let that stop you from doing what you need to do to maintain life. If life's responsibilities are too much for a person to handle, then that becomes a "them problem". A few hours one afternoon and $40 and this would have ended a long time ago.

I hate when judges or people in general don’t understand that things cost money and if I don’t have it I don’t have it. Her being flabbergasted he didn’t have the funds to sue someone while looking for a job and going through a divorce is so annoying
I see her point actually. It costs $40 to file eviction papers - $40. No way do I believe that in 2 years the guy didn't have $40. He didn't need to file a lawsuit, he just needed to file for eviction.
If someone was stealing $800 a month from me, I'd BORROW $40 if I needed to to get them out.
As for the divorce - all divorces are messy, you can't let that stop you from doing what you need to do to maintain life. If life's responsibilities are too much for a person to handle, then that becomes a "them problem".
A few hours one afternoon and $40 and this would have ended a long time ago.
@@ThePracticalDog it’s not just filing. Even people who do it right end up waiting hears to get somebody out sometimes and have to go to court all the time.
Judges will be dumb and go “okay you have 12 years to get out you silly goose” (exaggerating but sometimes they don’t seem to take it seriously), then cops won’t get them out and force and eviction “you have 72 hours silly you”, then do t do shit in 72! When they don’t leave, and just a mess.
It’s a long expensive mess and we see it on this show alllll the time.
If it worked and all you had to do was pay $40 and then in 30 days the police drag you by the hair out of somewhere then you’d be right. But it doesn’t work that easily a lot of the time.

And the plaintiff's temper tantrum as he was leaving. That was a spoiled brat who was never told no by his mother.
Both of these men are liars. The tenant found out the landlord had an illegal occupancy and used it against him. The landlord could have had him legally evicted but was scared to do so. The judge made a good decision.
When did the Defendant do anything wrong, or lie? Unlike the Plaintiff.
