    Carrie, Cricut states layering glitter can give an unwanted texture. But with something so small I don’t even notice and changed texture.
    Another tip is:
    “Can You Layer Glitter Vinyl? Even though glitter vinyl does have that rough, sparkly texture, it can still be easily layered for multi-colored projects. I do recommend using transfer paper to layer designs with precision; and I don't recommend layering more than 2-3 colors because it can get quite thick.Jan 30, 2018”
    Shout out from Thehomesihavebuilt on layering glitter vinyl.

      You’re welcome! I LOVE my Cricut, and have done so much with it. In fact, last night I worked with two neighborhood brothers (ages 10 &11) to make and decorate two mini Christmas tree tree skirts. They were both so into it!!!

      How do you get your vinyl to fit to the edge

    • @ReMadeWithLove
      @ReMadeWithLove  2 года назад +1

      @@michellesweet667 I used the dimension off the tile itself, and then found an svg file for a couple of dollars that would fit this particular tile (off Etsy). This file will size the vinyl so that it covers the top and gently bends over the rounded edge nicely. If you would like your vinyl to cover more of the tile you will need to size the svg slightly larger.

    Gorgeous! (Only my tiles came a slightly different shape than all the designs in cricut and elsewhere, grrrrrrrr) Maybe I can just use some glossy paint?

    Thanks for the helpful video and you have such a calm, pleasant speaking voice (you should do voice-over work). I just made my first six of these types and even though I used three files that were supposedly the exact size for my tiles (same as your tiles), each is off slightly, so I might need to get the one you got and try it. I love your idea to mix and match elements from multiple designs. I did that when some intricate candy canes didn't cut well, so I just removed them and added snowflakes instead. I'm also glad to see you used Gorilla Glue. I have it on hand, but every other video I've seen uses E6000 (?) and I really didn't want to buy something unnecessary. Thanks so much. Happy holidays!

      Thank you, Donna. I’m so sorry the files didn’t work- can you open them, unlock, and resize rather than buy a new one?
      Yes, we can make changes to what we want on the ornaments so there are unlimited possibilities!
      I’d love to see some of your creations when you are done-

    Did you cut the felt backing by hand or did you cut it on a cricut machine. I have the original cricut explore and was wondering if it cuts felt. I have never tried.

    • @ReMadeWithLove
      @ReMadeWithLove  Год назад +1

      I have a Maker, but at the time of the video I wanted to see how easy it was to cut the felt by hand. It’s doable, but faster and (for me) an improvement on my cutting(!).
      According to sewwhatalicia.com:
      YES! You can cut felt with the Cricut Explore and the Cricut Maker. There are more options for cutting felt with your Maker but you can most definitely cut felt on most of your Cricut machines. The Cricut Maker is my go to felt cutting machine. Check out THESE felt bookmarks cut with the Cricut Maker.
      It’s worth a try! Also, there are different weights of felt and different content (acrylic,wool,etc.) that cuts differently. Happy creating!

    what is the best way to get the glitter to stick to glitter....I tried this and my top glitter vinyl didn't want to stick to the base vinyl?

    • @ReMadeWithLove
      @ReMadeWithLove  2 года назад +1

      Oh No! I have never had this happen...could you be touching the sticky side of the vinyl your placing, or have run your hand over the first layer, maybe transferring some natural oil from your hand? Perhaps swipe the first layer with a quick alcohol wipe before applying the second layer of glitter (and DON"T touch the sticky side of the top vinyl layer). Are you using Cricut product vinyl (that's what I use and never had this problem and have made, probably, hundreds)...? I know that paint and stickers give a variable performance in humid conditions...perhaps humidity is effecting the adhesion. So, if this persists you might want to try and take a toothpick and place tiny dots of E6000 or gorilla glue where the vinyl is not sticking properly and press down with another toothpick.

      As a rule you don't put glitter over glitter.

    • @ReMadeWithLove
      @ReMadeWithLove  2 года назад

      Laura, hmmmm, this tutorial really is for those with a cutting machine. I'm sure you can use other stickers, but they would probably not be sized for the tile. There are other tutorials on how to make custom ornaments with tile using a photo transfer medium which will take your photo printed or copied on regular paper and then applied to the tile.

    Are these too heavy for a standard artificial tree

    • @ReMadeWithLove
      @ReMadeWithLove  2 года назад

      Hi Lori - sorry I'm just getting to this now.
      I treat these ornaments like any of my bigger or heavier ornaments (sorry I don't have a scale to weigh them).
      The tree I photographed them on is my smaller (about 2 ft tall) artificial tree. I was a little concerned because the small size didn't allow for much variation of limb size on the branches like big artificial trees usually have.
      I made sure I posed the branch in an upward position, sometimes even creating a bump in the branch so the limb would hold up and the ornament wouldn't slide down.
      I have placed these on my large artificial tree and, while not out far on the limb, will do just fine midway or towards those inner openings where they can still sparkle and be seen.

    Do you drill holes in ornament in order to hang?

    • @ReMadeWithLove
      @ReMadeWithLove  2 года назад

      Hi Terry - no, no need to drill holes. This tutorial shows how you take ribbon and make a loop, take a drop of E6000 (or Gorilla glue) and glue it to the rough ceramic back of the ornament. You'll then cover with felt. I've never had one fall or break - this holds securely.
