Hi 👋 thanks for the question. So in Cricut design space, I selected a circle shape and a square and “welded” then together to create the shape I needed for the inside part. It’s basically the same outside shake as the ornament. If you go in to the community tab in Cricut design space you can find and use my design and it’s already done and ready to cut. I hope that explains it a bit more?
Hi, I love the tree and deer! I’m totally new to cricut. I have everything done as per your video but the tree. I’ve made three attempts thus far to cut it. I have a cricut maker and a different brand of vinyl but am picking up the cricut premium tomorrow. What settings did you use? I think mine has too much pressure for such an intricate design, but I’m determined to do your beautiful ornament. Help! Please.
Hello there. Vinyl really can be fussy. For this one I used cricut removable vinyl I believe but premium permanent will Work too. I have a maker and I think I cut it on “vinyl” but might have been “intricate cut” as I use that for tiny details sometimes, though usually on card projects. I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes?
Hi, thanks. It's my own design. I haven't figured out how to share svgs I create outside of Cricut design space yet. You can find images in DS and the acetate is just a circle with a square welded to it in the right size. A touch smaller than your ornament is all you need. I hope that helps.
What are the dimensions for the acetate sheet. I looked thru comments and description area, but didn’t find it. Also are your dimensions in metric or imperial? Thanks for your help!!
Oh my. I am so sorry that I missed this question. Probably a bit late now but I can find you the exact measurements if you still want them. The ornaments are 3inches across. So the acetate shape inside is just a little smaller. My design is available for you to use in Cricut design space under my name and all set to the right size. Obviously if you have different size ornaments you would need to adjust the insert.
I have ordered from Cricut and Amazon before for the acetate. I also picked some up at michaels. Most will work. You want it strong enough to hold flat once inside the ornament but flexible enough to roll it inside.
Hi, If you find me in the Cricut community tab, you can access my shared projects, carrieanne Slade. If you type deer ornament in that section it should also show up. Let me Know if you can’t find it and I will try to help find a solution.
I always re use my transfer tape. (Unless it's covered in glitter or fluff) I find if I buy rolls of contact paper I can cut to any size and works great for smaller projects. I use Cricut transfer tape many times too. The strong grip is needed for glitter vinyl as contact paper isn't strong enough for that.
The images are in Cricut design space. Tree is the leafless tree and deer are in the winter woodland project. You will Need to be an access member for them to be free. Normal acetate. I have shared the design in the Cricut community in ds too.
I designed this ornament myself last year. I made more this year as they were so popular. The images I found in Cricut design space. The ornaments I used are from Michaels and are 3x3. I cut the acetate slightly smaller. The deer are approximately an inch tall each.
Hi Cat- Love the ornament and would really like to make it! I tried to find the tree on Design Space and there are literally 32,000 trees...could you be more specific? Maybe the artist's name, or what you typed in the search bar? Thank you so much!!

I shared the project in the community projects tab under Carrieanne Slade. You should Be able To access it there. The details as also in the video description with the image numbers. I hope that helps :)
You can buy rolls of “contact paper” (clear draw liner) or Cricut Transfer tape which also comes in a roll and can be found on the website or craft store. You don’t want strong grip for this project as it would get stick to the acetate sheet.
@@TheCatSlade hello ! Thank you , for the info -- 🤔these “ rolls “; do they have the ‘ peel apart “ type ? - How do I put a photo on it, to put inside the ornaments ?? - 🥴
@@barbaraanderson2928 the transfer tape just moves the cut vinyl images, in this case the deer and tree, to the acetate. The acetate comes in 12x12 sheet. It’s a clear plastic. It has a protective film ok it you need to remove but if you want to put a photo on it you’d need to stick the pic on to the acetate or print it on there I think 🤔 Which I have not tried.
I have not yet figured o how to share my svgs outside of Cricut design space. I created the acetate svg with just a circle and a square. I welded the square on to the top of the circle. This tab is important so that the inside stays upright. Acetate just needs to be a tiny bit smaller that the ornament.
@@TheCatSlade can you tell us how big it is on your Design Space? Like I have one that is 3.583" x 3.583" and added a square that was 1.097"x .0931" making the total 3.583"x 4.375".

The tree was one I found in ds as well as the deer. 🦌 I just put them together for my project. Have you tried to search in ds for the image number I shared in the description of this video?
I love this, it’s so beautiful. Could you please give the numbers for the deer and tree in DS. I saw you posted them in another comment but they are not working. Thank you so much and thank you for sharing.
In the description i just updated ;)
-ORNAMENTS - from Michaels, Canada - 25pk - plastic - 3 inch.
TREE IMAGE - # M8FD812B - search in images - Cricut Design Space
DEER - #MF37BO22 - woodland winter scene image set - Cricut Design Space
ACETATE CENTRE - I created this myself from a circle and welding a small square to the top to create the tab. The tab sits in the neck so that it doesn't move once inside.
Dimensions - .66x372.88x3.2 Thickness of acetate is unknown, sorry, not on the packaging and too thin to measure.
Acetate sheets are from Amazon or Michaels. 12x12 pack of 12 sheets.
No brand name on them.
Recollections and Cricut also sell acetate.
@@TheCatSlade Thank you so much for answering so quickly. I did find the Deer and also the tree. Can’t wait to try these. Your videos are so easy and you explain explain everything so well. Thank you again.
Very nice ,where did you purchase your funnel from ?..
It's Tupperware®
I am a Tupperware® manager and got it in an award box I received. ;)
Belly dancing days? I'd love to see those videos mate 😊
Ballet 🩰 not belly 😂
At one point in working with the tree, you mentioned "weeded"-what does that mean?
When you cut something in vinyl, weeding is when you remove the bits you don't need from the cut design. In between the branches for example.
Beautiful job. One question, did you adhere the foil to the vinyl?
Yes it’s Cricut adhesive foil vinyl :)
What do you mean when you say a circle made of acetate with a square welded? How do you do that ?
For this one I used cricut removable vinyl I believe but premium permanent will
Work too. I have a maker and I think I cut it on “vinyl” but might have been “intricate cut” as I use that for tiny details sometimes, though usually on card projects. I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes?
Absolutely love this! Where are the SVGs from please?
Love this, where did you get the tree?
Hi. The tree is in Cricut design space. I have the project in shared tab under Carrieanne Slade. It’s #M8FD812B
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this!! Thank you very much for the tutorial!! Can't wait to make some this evening!!!

Thank you!!! ❣❣❣
Where do you get the acetate paper
I have ordered from Cricut and Amazon before for the acetate. I also picked some up at michaels. Most will work. You want it strong enough to hold flat once inside the ornament but flexible enough to roll it inside.
I can't find the images on cricut using the image numbers listed above. Is there another way to find the images?
Hi, If you find me in the Cricut community tab, you can access my shared projects, carrieanne Slade. If you type deer ornament in that section it should also show up. Let me
Know if you can’t find it and I will try to help find a solution.
where did you get the reusable transfer tape ?
I always re use my transfer tape. (Unless it's covered in glitter or fluff)
I find if I buy rolls of contact paper I can cut to any size and works great for smaller projects. I use Cricut transfer tape many times too. The strong grip is needed for glitter vinyl as contact paper isn't strong enough for that.
Where wold I find the SVGs? and is there a special acetate? I'm a newbie.
The images are in Cricut design space. Tree is the leafless tree and deer are in the winter woodland project. You will
Need to be an access member for them to be free. Normal acetate. I have shared the design in the Cricut community in ds too.
2 minutes, let’s go!
woohoo!
Can you please share where you got the svg for the tree from along with the dimensions for the acetate ornament, tree and both the deer?
I designed this ornament myself last year. I made more this year as they were so popular.
The images I found in Cricut design space. The ornaments I used are from
Michaels and are 3x3. I cut the acetate slightly smaller. The deer are approximately an inch tall each.
Tree is in ds. Leafless tree. #M8FD812B
This is beautiful!
Where do you get your SVG's from?
Thank you. I created this InDesign space. I shared it in the Cricut community too.
Wow thank you go much. It's really beautiful!
Hi Cat- Love the ornament and would really like to make it! I tried to find the tree on Design Space and there are literally 32,000 trees...could you be more specific? Maybe the artist's name, or what you typed in the search bar? Thank you so much!!
Hello 👋 I have my design shared in the community tab or design space. Here is the link design.cricut.com/landing/project-detail/61b002f8207e45b1b1859d28
You can also search Deer ornament and Cat Slade in DS and you should find me ;)
Where do you get the templates though@@TheCatSlade ? I searched on the number you provided and it brought up a ton of results and they weren't trees lol
What kind of snow did you use? It looks shimmery.
It is sparkly yes. I got it from Dollerama I believe.
This are absolutely beautiful!!!
How much are you selling this one?
So amazing!
Hello, thank you. Price depends on where it's sold. Wholesale, craft fair or in store, or custom. They start at $10.
Hi. I am not able to find the images in design space. Any suggestions?
I shared the project in the community projects tab under Carrieanne Slade. You should
Be able
To access it there. The details as also in the video description with the image numbers. I hope that helps :)
This “ transfer paper “ ? Can you buy a roll of it , or just sheets ? Where you get it ?
What kind of vinyl is the tree?
Cricut permanent vinyl. But most will
Work.
This is beautiful! Thank you for sharing, do you have the tree name or number for design space, I can't seem to find it?
Tree is #M8FD812B
@@TheCatSlade Thank you!
@@kimlee3136 are they free? I can’t find it
@@arelismayes6491 the file number is above for the tree and I search deer
Is there an SVG to cut the acetate to the right size & shape?
I have not yet figured o how to share my svgs outside of Cricut design space. I created the acetate svg with just a circle and a square. I welded the square on to the top of the circle. This tab is important so that the inside stays upright. Acetate just needs to be a tiny bit smaller that the ornament.
@@TheCatSlade can you tell us how big it is on your Design Space? Like I have one that is 3.583" x 3.583" and added a square that was 1.097"x .0931" making the total 3.583"x 4.375".
Just wondering what is the DS number for the deer please... Thank you!
MF37BO22 is the project the deer are from.

Background music next time! #vrafam
Good tip thanks so much for watching!
How do you know how much to scale down the acetate vs the ornament? Or is it just trial and error?
Honestly it was trial
An error but let me try and find the exact size of the acetate for the 3 inch ornament. Circle is 2.88 x 2.88 and square is .66 x .37
2.88 x 3.2 when attached for acetate image.

@@TheCatSlade Thank you!
what the size is the template? Thank you
The measurements are all in the description of this video. They are also in my file for this in my shared community profile under carrieanne Slade
Love these! Where did you buy your acetate at?
I ordered clear acetate sheets. 12 x 12. 12 sheets in a pack from Amazon.
I have also used the Cricut acetate for these last year.

@@TheCatSlade what weight of acetate did you purchase from Amazon? Can you share the link?
