I miss what's currently Fox 29. When I got my first Suburban Cablevision in my native New Jersey 40 years ago,we had two Philly stations,WPHL 17 and WTAF 29. WPHL was soon gone from the line-up. When Turner Network Television debuted on 10/1/1988,we lost WTAF. My mom had the opportunity to watch MARRIED...WITH CHILDREN on Sunday nights either on WTAF or New York-based WNYW 5. I would imagine when MTV debuted on August 1,1981,the channel line-up got revised and we lost WPHL.

Clip of an Old Shop Rite Commercial which I haven't seen in years. Definitely remember the Sunday Matinee on Fox 29 that aired right after the three stooges on Sunday. Never seen the Will Smith Commercial before but it's 100% Awesome. There's the original promo for Americas Most Wanted hosted by John Walsh. The Tracey Ullman Show was definitely awesome at the time too. Lincoln Tech commercial was freakin Epic which I hadn't seen in years but still have fond memories.

I remember the DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince 1-900 commercial, coming off the heels of "Parents Just Don't Understand." I always like the commercials for the local radio stations. This was Fall 1988 and if I remember correctly, "The Three Stooges" did come on at 11 AM, then at 12 PM, "Star Trek," which 29 acquired from 17 due to the fact that they were airing "Star Trek: The Next Generation."

Aired on October 16, 1988, according to my newspaper's TV listings. The original Pink Panther aired right before this.

It was slowly changing. Fox had started the year before and it was just on weekends. 29 had also just changed its call letters from WTAF to WTXF.
