I've been following your videos for quite some time now, and they've given me the confidence to engage in a serious bodybuilding workout at my local gym. I mean, I've always trained hard, but there are some practices that might seem strange to others - like doing sissy squats between sets, or compressing your muscles to increase the pump... I'm less shy to do this things and consequently I'm getting a better pump after all. Thanks for sharing these tips and techniques! Hugs from Brazil
17:27 Flexor. 17:50 Brachioradialis. the Brachialis (a muscle just behind the bicep, similar to the soleus which is behind the calves) gets worked with overhanded bicep curls (doesn't hit the biceps as much as a normal supinated grip does) so does the brachioradialis 18:35 Extensors. If you ever do forearms again, try straight bar cable curls from the bottom. your ROM should be as such; start all the way from the tip of your fingers and then essentially just rolling it up to your hand as you make a grip and then curling, holding for atleast 1 second, then letting it go slowly until it reaches the tip of your fingers. that way you're really hitting it on the eccentric which definitely humbled me after a long time of speed curling.
@@sauce1187 @sauce1187 sure thing. you basically use the straight bar attatchment on any cable equipment in the gym. as for the motion, you want to CURL the bar, bringing it closer to your forearm. your palms should be facing the floor (thats what you call a "Pronated position") and you twist your wrists towards your elbows, holding for a solid second, slowing down as you relax your hand, letting the bar roll to the tip of your fingers. I emphasize the last part a lot cuz of the profound stretch I get. you dont have to do it on a cable machine though. I just find it very convenient having to replace just the attatchment instead of having to load weights on a bar. Renaissance Periodization have a video called "Cable Wrist Curls". that shows precisely what ik trying to convey.

I gotta say Sam, your vids were in my recommended for weeks before I clicked. Nowhere near what I expected, great content. I could never train the way you do, frankly if I didnt have a plan that i stick to 90% of the time I know i wouldn't make progress. However, your videos have reminded me of the importance of having backup exercises ready to plug in when my ideal piece of kit for a movement is taken. Today was upper body day and I was meant to do hammer strength pulldown. It was taken, so i did some regular MAG grip cable pulldowns instead. It felt great, and my performance was notably better than the last time i did them.

OK, this guy actually knows WTF he's talking about. I'm a former competitive powerlifter and I did some of this stuff myself. I wasn't as focused on the volume due to my sport being about single rep maxes, but I can definitely relate to the muscle isolation and form focus aspects. My Advice on Forearms 1. Wrist Rolls heavy -- as much as possible, and roll upwards from the floor, then let it down and roll back up backwards to get the other side of the wrists. Doing rolls both ways upward gives entire wrist and forearm a good work. Try to roll backward and forward in one set. 2. Behind the back finger barbell curls. Place as much as you can on a bar, put bar on a rack around knee to waist height. Pickup behind you with your hands shoulder width, and let bar roll down fingers with arms straight behind you. Get to point where bar will fall out of hands, right before it curl fingers up and make a fist with bar in them. Awesome for grip strength.. Can be done for reps to get definition. 3. Dumbbell twirls - arms at sides like picking up suitcase with bells in them; rotate wrists with arm stiff as far as you can in each direction. Can be done with arms out in front, but arms down is more effective as it isolates the wrists and don't involve shoulders and other junk fighting to keep them up. Set work for me, building deadlift grip strength. 3X wristroll with 50lbs weights...up and down each set 4X (10-15) barbell finger curl: 185lbs to 225lbs 3-4 X 25-30 reps -- dumbbell twirls (40's) My deadlift grip went way up doing this on arm day. I went from my grip ripping out at 500lbs without chalk, to being able to rack pull 660 lbs and full rep 605lbs with no chalk in under one year. It works. More advice -- do preacher pose stretches to relax the forearm tendons and muscles after each set of heavy work...20-30 second stretch to avoid tendon and joint damage + makes for better work on next set. Do 1 forearm set in each superset or circuit. mix in with arm and shoulder work. 3 shoulder +1 forearm is circuit 1: 3 arm and 1 forearm is circuit 2, ect.
ur videos are so helpful man when ever i watch ur videos it really helps me learn things i didn't know shit about delts or forearms but u helped me a lot

I see alot of great potential in you as a body builder and content creator and i think this advice would help :p ( but thats just my opinion, we all have a preference and believe in the way our training works better than others, but i highly suggest - from a new fan)
It's crazy Sam can just go into the gym no plan just doing shit that feels good and still grow the way he has. Just imagine with a great coach a solid program and a killer meal plan this kid is going to be an absolute MONSTER!
If you have taken weeks off and you feel the same pain occurring then you got a more serious injury going on. Reassess your form and volume around what feels best for YOUR shoulders, not everyone has the shoulder mobility that allow for large or certain heavy movements.

Probably quite a stack is all you need to know

DO NOT COPY SOMEONE'S CYCLE. First do a low risk cycle, monitor your body's reaction and then switch out dosages accordingly.

My Advice on Forearms
1. Wrist Rolls heavy -- as much as possible, and roll upwards from the floor, then let it down and roll back up backwards to get the other side of the wrists. Doing rolls both ways upward gives entire wrist and forearm a good work. Try to roll backward and forward in one set.

Can be done with arms out in front, but arms down is more effective as it isolates the wrists and don't involve shoulders and other junk fighting to keep them up.
Set work for me, building deadlift grip strength.
3X wristroll with 50lbs weights...up and down each set
4X (10-15) barbell finger curl: 185lbs to 225lbs
3-4 X 25-30 reps -- dumbbell twirls (40's)
My deadlift grip went way up doing this on arm day.
