Sam, these types of videos make a huge difference for some of us. I’ve been pretty ignorant when it comes to keeping track of my nutrition throughout my life, and your detailed videos really got me on track in terms of counting my macros, getting more dialed in, and getting healthier. Recently diagnosed with prediabetes (I’m 160lb boxer) and I’ve gone ocd obsessed with reversing it since. Completely changed my entire way of life to fix this. I credit a lot of my ability to do so from you man. You taught me a lot of different tricks and ways to do this. Thanks bro
Can I ask what caused the diabetes? Like from unhealthy habits or just genetic factors, considering you are a 160lb boxer I wouldn't think it would be from unhealthy habits, just genuinely curious.
Bro, you didn't need to guilt someone into liking your comment by adding these problems. A short "u helped me so much, sam, thank you" would've been good but you tryna get sympathy lol
@@SkyhighSurronbruh. You are socially inept. People can share life experiences without it being looking for sympathy. If your dad was talking to you and he said his hands hurt, would you say “ok dad. haha 26:05 "before you know it, you'll have a dam six pack like it's ahhh 2006 again" yeah... I do miss those days. Thanks for these grocery videos they are very calm and soothing to watch and gain inspiration from.
Almost 40 pounds down in almost 6 months and everything Sam is eating is exactly what I eat. I also stopped partying, drinking, vaping, Relying on energy drinks and pre workouts for working out along with doing intermittent fasting which helps with over eating. Not rocket science to get there. Just accountability and determination.
@@FatalFates thanks bro! I do 12-8. I have a cup of coffee in the morning to curb my appetite until my first meal and usually stop a little before 8. I know some people do 1-9 or 2-10 which is more sustainable if you like going out and meeting up with friends to eat or drink but even if I hang out with friends or go out, I don’t eat or drink. But since I been doing it for a while now, I don’t get hungry at night anymore and this is coming from a guy that use to order uber eats at 1 in the morning.
Brother! As of this afternoon I'm down about 38 lbs in a little over 6 months. I don't obsess over my macros other than getting almost enough protein. I still drink (but far less) and still enjoy my weekly trip to the local greasy spoon diner. I'm just obsessive about tracking my calories. The hunger pangs are killer but I look better and feel better than I have in years.

Thanks for the motivation Sam I’m finally fully locked it. Lifting hard, counting calories, and now on team cardio (begrudgingly). Let’s see where this goes in the months ahead. Doing my first cut is not fun but I’m looking forward to the next bulk in a couple months.
I started going hard on my cal count and macros when I got serious about my weight loss, and it truly opened my eyes to the bs I was overlooking in my normal routine. I've gotten to the point now where I can eyeball a lot of my portions and ingredients, but that realization was absolutely necessary for me to get started.
I really like these "hangout" videos where it just feels like we are there with you. Thanks a lot, Sam. You are a huge inspiration to a lot of people!!
For canned chicken I love to make a buffalo chicken grilled cheese. Throw some franks hot sauce in a bowl and mix it around with the chicken, put it on some bread with a couple of fat free singles from Walmart. Spray some I can’t believe it’s not butter on the outside of the bread and heat it up on the skillet. Quick, easy, good amount of protein not too heavy on the carbs if you use a carb balance bread, and it tastes almost as good as the ones they make at Quiktrip.
Sam you can use a colander with a bowl under it and just poor the beef in in the colander. Let it sit and shake a couple times until you get the desired amount of fat off. Put foil in the bowl as well and you can even wrap the fat in the foil and throw it away. Wrap means just pinch the corners together to make a sack looking thing.
@@claytonervin2696 It's a good tip really though. Like he said if you use foil then you only have to clean the colander, and you can just throw it in the dishwasher if you have one that works. It's annoying to stand there draining grease from 3-5 pounds of ground beef using just a lid.
@@imageword5576 Well yea I understand it's a good tip brother. I grew up under my great-grandmother who taught me to cook so when I heard sam say he drains by just tilting the pans I cringed and thought "why doesn't bro just use a fuckin colander or atleast use slotted spoon with paper towels instead of risking the whole meal. Just sayin he prolly isn't gonna do all that. Who cares have a nice day.
Hey Sam, great video! I see you track macros, but I personally track protein and calories. The reason I do this is because things don't always seem to add up on the nutrition labels. For example, when you mentioned 32g of ketchup and showed the label, it showed 1g/0g/0g of carbs/fat/protein, so you said 2g of carbs which would be 8 calories. However the calories count for 16g is 10. This tells me that they are doing some heavy rounding on the macros, whether up or down, or on the calories. So I find that at least for cutting, I would use the calories (20) for 2 servings better than using the 2g/8cal from carbs. At 52 servings, the whole bottle would put you at 520 calories or 208 calories (via carbs). Big difference which I think comes down to rounding 3 times (once for each macro) v. rounding once for calories. I've noticed this on many foods I eat, with the vast majority of them giving a calorie count higher than the stated macros. Any thoughts on the rounding of nutrition labels, or if I'm mathing wrong? The best of both worlds would be tracking all macros, but also calories separately maybe?
7:08 a little trick I use for straining the beef, is to put a big noddle strainer in the sink and just pour all the beef into it and strain it that way and not loose any beef! 👍
Sam use a pasta strainer for the hamburger meat you just dump it in and if you want you can rinse it with water then throw back in on for a bit that's what I do . Cheers man
