Happy new year brother, maintenance is a must! I have pretty much the same setup except no sponge filter in my ten gallon.

Having two filters help better beneficial bacteria live and grow stable when you decide to clean one of them.

Thank you for the video. I have a huge mound of Christmas moss that is glued to a piece of driftwood (you can see it on my channel in my 55g), and I need to trim it, but I've never done that. It's gotten so big in 1 year without trimming. It was actually sold as "flame java moss", but people tell me it's just Christmas moss, then others act like they've never seen my type of moss before...it's odd. I'd love to know your opinion about what kind it is if you have a chance to look. It's in my 55g and it's pretty much in all my videos

Xmas and Flame mosses are two different types. One grows upward and longer like flame fire than the other. Xmas looks like Java moss. If you want to have a cleaner and shorter look like me you must trim them down. 😊

@redspotaquashrimps ok thank you i always thought they were different, but people waaaaay smarter than me kept saying they're the same. Mine in my 55g grows in the pattern of a Christmas tree. But the moss I bought labeled as Christmas moss, and it's growing straight up like yours. I honestly don't want to trim it. It's just getting too large. To keep it as is I'd have to rearrange my tank and make it the centerpiece of my tank...it's really big
