    Good choice, brother! Love my 250 Rally, but the 300L is an awesome dedicated off roader. It’ll serve you extremely well and you won’t have to worry about bashing up a bunch of plastics like on the rally. Mine are all cracked and it gives it character, but a bit more naked is better for the inevitable drops 😂🤙

    Congrats on the purchase. You're living my dream! I'm nearly 70 and hope to be back on a light tail bike in the next couple years. Btw Yamaha's XT500 was the most uncomfortable bike I ever owned back in the day. Only a few miles down the road and the butt would be screaming, so no doubt not much has changed with your 250, put me off Yamahas for years. My regular ride at the time (early 80's) was a Ducati 900 Super Sport (bevel head), itself not an easy bike to live with, to say the least. Enjoy the Honda!

      I'm definitely stoked with mine, about to change out the tires and add the bash guard/hand guards and a luggage rack. May have to deal with the suspension..we'll see. Stay safe out there sir, glad you're back into riding!!

    Nice video. I had to chuckle a bit when you said Ne-vod-uh. Guessing you're not from the area originally. Reminds me when people say Colo-rod-o. Lol

    fun video. nice bike good engine sound. yeah those bikes are hard to find on the floor. I picked up a 2023 kawi KLX 300 and loving it, esp the suspension. Surprisingly the seat is comfortable in the ergonomics fit like a glove I use it for errands and Mountain exploration.

    When I upgrade from my Xt250, it will be the Tenere. But I ain’t gonna sell the XT, I know that bike will run forever.

      We're keeping the XT250 as well, that bike is awesome. I hunted a Tenere for awhile, hard bike to find...could see one of those in my future also!

      @@precipiceofgrind Yes sir! Bought the T7 last summer. Found one 4hrs away, and didn't look back. With that being said, I just picked up a 2023 XT250 yesterday and am loving it. Don't have to worry about picking her up after a dump. It's a feather compared to the T7.

    Sand squirlyness is a result of the child-tuned suspension and, yes, the tires. Stiffer fork spring and all new rear shock is where it's at.

    While getting used to it increase the preload on the rear shock and lower tyre pressures to around 16 psi helped mine until I can get new tyres

    Those oil change / service intervalls I'd think depends much on how you drive your Honda. If you're doing tight trails riding or pushing laps on a track, strainig the motor and gearbox more than on normal roads, you'd be doing well to change the oil more often. But for commuting or going on easier adventure trips around the state there's not much reason for frekvent oil change. It's not exactly a performance engine. I have a Kawasaki KLX230 which has about the same nice intervall times in the manual, but doing occasional enduro and softer motocross I'd like to be a bit careful so I change my oil+oilfilter a few times more than recommended, just to be good to the bike. Generic 4T motorcycle engine oil isn't too expensive.

    • @precipiceofgrind
      @precipiceofgrind  2 года назад

      Yeah, I have no intention of going from 600 miles to 8000 miles without changing the oil a couple times. That's pretty cool though, go on a nice long trip and don't have to be overly concerned about an oil changing.

    I bought a crf300 rally the first week of last November with 1100 miles on it. It came with a top box that locks with the same key as the ignition, not sure if it's a factory option tho.

    I'm really curious power-wise how do you find it over the xt250 because I'm a small Rider and I have xt250 and I'm thinking of upgrading to just a little bit bigger bike and I'm looking at the 300L. I'm not a new Rider either I've been riding for years and have some experience but just want a little bit more power and torque.

    • @precipiceofgrind
      @precipiceofgrind  2 года назад +1

      That's exactly why I went from the 250 to the 300, just a bit more power and comfort. I've found my 300L to be exactly what I wanted it to be....getting me into the same places as the 250 but with just a little more power and also be able to comfortably cruise the asphalt. One thing to consider is the 300L is a bit taller bike than the xt250 and weighs a little more...308 lbs without gear. I still didn't get rid of my xt250 though, an amazing bike! Get both!!
