I know you probably get a ton of compliments on you appearance, but I must say in all honesty, and respectfully you look particularly amazing in that blue sun dress your wearing in your video you are describing "what's it really like living in the Philippines" yes I enjoy the show, and appreciate the information. Pea you must transition to a more permanent show, I've also said the same thing to Jennifer Terri, maybe the 2 of you can corobarate on a new show concept, I'm positive it would be a big hit ! Good luck young lady 😘
Haven't seen this vid yet. So, is it about all the deadly fish etc in the oceans (reason Filipinas don't want to swim there), deadly mosquitos, flies, snakes, etc? LOL
I was in there about 30 years ago in the Marines. I'm sure things are different now. But the thing that really sold me on your country was when i had a motor bike that the chain came off in the provinces. People from both sides of the street came to help. They fixed it. I offered money, they said no and brought me to their barbecue for dinner. I had a guy drive me to the store and I bought 6 cases of beer and brought it back for everyone. I woke up at their house to the sound of roosters. After breakfast they sent me on my way. Nicest people I've ever met in my life.
I knew a Marine who told me people would ask him "Want to buy my daughter?" as he walked by. I have mixed feelings about the Philipines, but stories like that, and her story of trash being thrown into the street along with the poor electric grid, doesn't help my impression.
So after a year's worth of Pea'ing, all I've seen Pea do is climb a coconut tree without spikes or belts, skin clean stuff and roast a pig to feed families, build a shelter, plough and plant rice, shoot an arrow on target, fire an assault rifle like a pro, feed a village, provide a new life for a single mother, provide excellent insight into the customs cuisine and home life of cultures in the city and provinces, share first rate legal and real estate advice from experts, and share honest opinions based on experience and research - during lockdown. I am so impressed with the the level of writing, performance and production which exceeds many broadcast shows. And I don't think Pea knows how special she is - which makes her even more special. I look forward to future shows. Keep on streaming Pea - wait, I used that one already.
I am a Filipina and it was very demeaning for me when I was applying for a job as sales assistant in SM years ago, they asked the applicants to walk along the corridor as if it was a beauty pageantry. Obviously, I was not hired as I have a scar on my leg. Thank goodness for that as it motivated me to move to UK and become a Nurse, there's goes a saying someone's rubbish turned out to be someone else's asset.
My favorite "find" was that nearly all the "public" electrical outlets seemed to be made to accommodate the plugs from every nation--China, USA, EU, UK, Africa, Japan, etc. What a perfect metaphor for the wonderfully accommodating Filipino people.
I love your brutal honesty, Pea. It is very interesting to see how you explain the various nuances of your country with such passion. You are AWESOME!!! Very informative video. Please keep them coming:-)))
Great video as always. Just one observation.... this video did not seem as scripted as usual and much more natural. I felt we were hearing you as we would if we met you at the pub and were just chatting. I really liked it. I mean this as a compliment.
You hit all the things I could think of. Well done. I love it here. I’ve been here 10 years. In all seriousness, solid waste management is a pressing concern to keep plastic out of waterways and the ocean. Tourism should concentrate on this important subject.
I know this is 1 year old, but I visited the Philippines for the first time in September/October. I absolutely had a great time and can’t wait to go back. But I have to agree with you on everything you said, it was a culture shock to start with as I live in England but I soon adapted to your country. I have great respect for your country and the Filipino people 👍😎🥰
A funny story about giving directions for delivery. I worked at Domino's Pizza when I was in college. Within the delivery area there was a church called "My Friend's House". One night during a busy rush one of the order takers answered the phone and I guess the caller was giving her directions. He said "Go down Norwalk boulevard and turn right past My Friend's House." She put him on hold and screamed. "I don't even know where this guy lives. He expects me to know where his friend lives!"
A few years ago myself & a potential business partner were looking to open a car repair shop & call it "My Buddy's Garage". It would of been interesting how that would of went.
Pea, seems like each video you make, I change my mind about visiting or retiring in your country. I will have a hard time adjusting to the garbage and littering situation. I so much appreciate your honesty and forthcoming in describing both the good and bad.
I live in Quezon City, Metro Manila and one day my wife were coming from Church and it was very hot and we were trying to get a taxi. Well there was this Policeman and he was looking at me, he asked "are you ok?" Then he pulled out his umbrella and shaded me from the sun until we got taxi, btw he stopped the taxi for us. We were very glad that Policeman was there, for in truth I was not feeling well because of the sun!
By the way more videos like this please because I'm less worried about the relationship than the culture shock I want to have a positive attitude and if I understand what's going to happen beforehand it will be much easier to deal with it and adjust emotionally thanks for the video
Pea, when I stay with my family in Tacloban, one thing I have to get used to is the flooding. after a heavy rain, water everywhere. and it takes days for it to go away. Still waiting for the ban to lift so I can come back to visit. and as usual, another hilarious Filipina Pea closing. please don't get no surgery, we love you just the way you are, especially your comedic side. live long and prosper.
This is very informative and helpful 👍 I have been married almost 5 years and my Filipina wife has never shared this with me. You are helping many of us prepare ahead. Thank you Pea.
I'm so glad that toilets are so much cleaner nowadays. We travel from Manila to San Fernando whenever we visit family and the first few times (about 15 years ago), it wasn't pleasant using the toilets when we stopped. But most toilets at the petrol stations or places we stop at are now pretty clean!
Great video, you are good in different roles and formats. Can we please have 24/7 PTV with chat shows, weather, adverts for your channel etc? Gimme more more more!
Really enjoyed this one Pee. It was informative, but relaxed bit like chatting with a good friend over coffee. And with no distractions, apart from a few passing pets now and again lol.
As usual you are spot on. Prior to moving here I didn't really have an idea of what the Philippines looked like outside of the images of the beaches. The things you mentioned here in addition to the squatter areas really caught my eye and left me taken aback. This is great insight for newcomers.
Thanks for sharing, it's not always easy to point out one's own countries citizens flaws, hopefully it's a first step in correcting some of these problems like waste management and animal control, but others, like stopping for a prayer makes the Philippines unique
Hello Pea, I always found the security guards very friendly and helpful, Actually I think it's a great idea to have them. As far as political correctness is concerned I think it has gone way too far here in the west to the point it is ruining society in general. That is just my opinion...Oh and I also found the Philippine National Police very nice too unlike most police in the west. Anyway have a great weekend, Cheers Rob.
Appreciate that you stayed factual, and didn't descend into a condescending description of your own country, which admittedly, could have been very easy to do. Well done.
Pea is one of the most gracious people I've enjoyed watching on social media. Transparent, factual, kind and non judgemental! The world would do well to have more of her style "truth bomb" humoristic commentary. And, ....she doesn't abandon common sense or conviction in the process! Bravo Queen Filipina, Bravo.

@@wardcummins8736 ha,ha,ha! Yeah, same as the bs in the free zones, but in the US. Should we go on? Riots ,looting, murders? Most developing countries from Mexico to Brazil have similar social issues. Filipinas has is charm.
@@wardcummins8736 Don't wanna argue that those things are bad, but we have too many (foreign ) people ( in Germany), who do the same things too. Could really do without my neighbors kids who throw their trash on the gras when they finished eating .... or their parents who don't want to go to the trash bin and throw stuff from their balcony...or the guys taking a leak in broad daylight on the wall of the store were he just bought things ... btw, It is none of the good districts of the city :D PS: Have never ever seen one of my German neighbors do any of that. Could have something to do with that most of them are 70+
I am glad that you said something about the traffic lights there. I spent a month there and I found that even if there is a traffic light, it's only a suggestion. People would run the red light when they found a gap they may drive through or they would just ease out until they blocked enough of the green light traffic and rush through. Other than that, I really enjoyed my time there. Hope that I can visit again!
Wonderful video again Pea you say it like it is because its obvious .Filipinos don't usually say the obvious even when its obvious but you always do . I adore the beaches because they are beautiful and they are well worth the trip.I don't stay longer than two or three weeks because after that ive had enough and cant wait till i get home .I couldn't live there if i was paid to . There's a long long list of things that i cant stand . I have had a good look around over seven visits and im always very happy to get back home .
I'm thinking of visiting the Philippines in a few months time. Your videos have been inspiration to me. I'm looking forward to coming soon. Hopefully, I will visit while there.
The smell of trash in the heat is one of the least pleasant memories from my first trip, that and the crazy traffic in Manila with no lane discipline. Things improved once I got to Boracay. I remember visiting an ATM and finding a guard outside with a huge pump action shot gun strapped across his chest. He gave me a very friendly and welcoming smile.
we dont meet people by accident every one meant to cross our path for a reason find it way you must tell yourself no matter how hard it is or hard it get she will come where there is love and inspiration go with all your heart
Who else was counting the cats walking past lol no seriously love all your Information Pea and thank you for time and effort you put in to your channel, im still waiting to visit my Filipina dam you covid.
It started just after she mentioned about the stray dogs and stray cats. They were like somebody pushed them to the screen two say " yeah.. she is right ". 😁
This, is probably my most favorite post from you! It's so completely honest and real! It's real life clear and direct! This is EXACTLY what I needed to see.
Ms, Bea that was your best yet lots of fun to see. you do not need any surgery you are fine as is you would make great pilot. yes I will leave your cockpit
Yep. While shopping in a supermarket with a trolley I turned around to find my trolley had disappeared from next to me. Is it a custom in the Phils to take other peoples trolleys. Very annoying cos I had to shop again.
Thank you Pea for being so honest. I appreciate your information that you put out love watching all your videos keep up the good work. I am planning on coming to the Philippines when they reopen. With all your educational information I will be better prepared and know what to expect. Again thank you and keep making those videos
I love all your videos Pea and I like this one where you're just sitting and talking a dialogue casually unscripted it's nice for a change of pace.... I'm pretty sure you did an outline though.... Lol 💛
Pea, the sketch on asking the bank for your money to blow up the balloons was funny! Just kidding about the term balloons.... Very informative video on the Philippines and how things tick on a daily basis. I really enjoyed the info on your banking system.
My biggest shock visiting the Phillipines was stepping over a sleeping homeless kid while getting into a travel agent to book an local flight. Since that time i regular donate to a local phillipine charity. And again you made me laugh Pea...you have a great sense of humour.
It is tough so see this here. Sad thing is those kids are sometimes tied to criminals and the money you give them goes to their boss. I always give food or things that only the kid will benefit from.
Since I supervised bio-waste homeless encampment clean up for 2 years under a CalTrans contract in California I've seen it all and smelled it all. When I was a teenager I worked for a large southern California mortuary and saw many graphic autopsies. I much prefer autopsies (as gross as they are) over a homeless encampment any day! The only thing that really rattles me is seeing a child in the mortuary or in a homeless encampment. it's a 10+ on my emotional scale!
Peter, I’m traveling to a different city to do an on-location video. I just found out what you did, and although I‘ll be sending you an email, I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart. You know what I’m talking about ...... ❤️
I love your country and I wish I had discovered you before traveling there, my girlfriend there would fish a snack and throw the trash on the ground it made me so mad. Driving was an experience with no traffic lights or stop signs. Being in Mindanao there was not a lot of westerners so i got a lot of attention, everyone was friendly.
I realize going in that the Philippines is not all puppy dogs and rainbows. I've been to Mexico (multiple times) and Turkey, so I've seen different lifestyles. I think people from rich suburbs might have problems, but I don't mind a little adversity. You have to be able to adapt to whatever life throws at you.
@@TheFilipinaPea I can't retire until 2025, so I'm stuck in the states for a few more years. I think you'll be the president of the Philippines by the time I get there. By the way I really like the "Fireside Chat" format. You could do that 2-4 times a month. It would be a lot easier. I'd love to hear some stories about working in the call center or some of your experiences living in the west.
@@wardcummins8736 Possibly. Perhaps not quite that high though. Most westerners move there to "live" and not "work" (aka retirees/expats). So it's either live your life in the phillipines, or live the grind in your western home country.
❤ Great show Pea, I often think about #2 well out and about in the Philippines. I have asked random people (tubers) in the Philippines to cover the CR topic well traveling. I have herd people say bring your own paper because it's hard to find it in public CR's 👍👍
Actually in catholic days whn they pray at the 15:00 they pray for Iancu from Hunedoara (a ex Roumanian leader of Transilvania he one who fight against muslims ortoman empire and he was considere the light warrior and from here IT remained Like holly day and hour
this is one of your best videos production wise. The lighting is phenomenal, the sound is excellent and you being comfortable makes me comfortable. You appear to be more of a person than a news reporter lol. Please do more videos in this relaxed enviornment.
I've been living here a while now, but I've only just discovered that 'personality' means physical appearance and what westerners regard as personality is called 'attitude'.
Many of those "shocks" will be experienced in most 3rd world countries. The power line problem is also seen somewhat in Japan because of earthquakes making it hazardous to bury power lines. I like the "wild west" feel of the Philippines. And I respect the right of business owners to set their own criteria for hiring employees. Informal format is a nice change!
Having lived in the Philippines, Cebu specifically, you mentioned everything that bothered me about living there. Trash was my biggest upset. Burning plastic! It causes lung problems.. oh my Gosh! Halla! Dogs, Cats, roosters everywhere! Samoc ! Saba an! (I probably spelled the Bisaya wrong ba)!Having said all this, the fillapinos are super friendly and nice and awsome! Red horse usually calms my anxiety there! 😆 I do miss living there.. Thanks Pea, you are super smart and hit the nail on the head on most topics!
I’m so glad you can confirm the trash problem - there are a bunch of Filipinos in this comment section trying to deny that we have a trash disaster Hahahahaha
I am finding more and more the effects of Covid and travel breaking hearts and relationships. It's one thing to talk to Expats, it's another thing for new couples. They don't know what to do. Interview Filipinas on what this is doing to their lives and also the partner.
Yes my friend .. thanks... I am from India and my girlfriend lives in Davao. At present they are not allowing Indians to enter there because of the pandemic. I wanted to meet her.. 😭

We love you and send best wishes for continued success. Many blessings...
Wow Wow Wow !!! Filipina Pea, Everything you shared in this video was mind blowing!!! After watching 50 Philippine videos I didn't even know 1 of the unique facts that you shared. This video episode was extremely educational. Thank You so much.. Sincerely, Richard
That was useful and informative information. Please do a second take on all the different cultural differences there that one would encounter versus the USA per se. I have encountered some of those in my past visits to the Philippines. Obviously, I try to acculturate myself accordingly by adopting and dropping things that will be beneficial or not. Salamat 😁
Pea I never say ugly. I say cosmetically challenged. You don't have that problem. You are beautiful, smart, beautiful skin and have long, beautiful, silky black hair..
i saw your kitties 😃 i have to say you do a very good job of discouraging me from visiting the Philippines 😂 i've seen similar situation with the trash in mexico, people just throw stuff in the street, and you see the rivers are gross. as much as i find some cultural things in other countries appealing, some things are just discouraging, it's like just changing a few things would make life nicer, but one person changing makes no difference unless the whole culture changes
Pea, many years ago, I worked for an employment agency in the U.S. Often, I would get requests for women that had "front desk appearance", which meant she needed to be pretty, regardless of any other skills she may have. So, it will get better eventually for those who don't have model-quality looks.
My thoughts: Manila and Cebu....people were laid back and friendly. I also thought it was crazy how you'd have this nice clean mall, then walk one block and see a lot of trash and poverty.
Now that’s a lot of truth bombs! The power line scramble is amazing to see! 😄 Looking especially HOT in that dress Pea! Getting my weekend off to a lovely start! 🤗

@@wardcummins8736 Third world characteristics?? What's your solution?😢🌴
Could really do without my neighbors kids who throw their trash on the gras when they finished eating .... or their parents who don't want to go to the trash bin and throw stuff from their balcony...or the guys taking a leak in broad daylight on the wall of the store were he just bought things ... btw, It is none of the good districts of the city :D
PS: Have never ever seen one of my German neighbors do any of that. Could have something to do with that most of them are 70+
You are so funny, insightful, articulate, creative, entertaining and provide excellent content. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Thanks!
Thanks for the tip, Julian!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
That little skit at the end had me laughing so hard I just about had tears in my eyes. Thumbs up for this video.
Very Interesting Info from a very cute lady !!!! Lovey summer dress too !!!
The smell of garbage in the street is nothing compared to passing a durian vendor.
we dont meet people by accident
every one meant to cross our path for a reason find it way
you must tell yourself
no matter how hard it is or hard it get she will come where
there is love and inspiration
go with all your heart
Who else was counting the cats walking past lol no seriously love all your Information Pea and thank you for time and effort you put in to your channel, im still waiting to visit my Filipina dam you covid.
My thoughts exactly^_^.. just kidding
This is great, Pea! I'm sure you could go on and on with these situations. Theses insights paint a good picture of life in the Philippines. 🤓
Yep. While shopping in a supermarket with a trolley I turned around to find my trolley had disappeared from next to me. Is it a custom in the Phils to take other peoples trolleys. Very annoying cos I had to shop again.
That was really informative, I learnt a lot, thanks.
Any time, Gemmel - thanks my job 👍😊
Thank you Pea for being so honest. I appreciate your information that you put out love watching all your videos keep up the good work. I am planning on coming to the Philippines when they reopen. With all your educational information I will be better prepared and know what to expect. Again thank you and keep making those videos
Aww cute lil kitty @15:28🐈
Love the video blessings and respect Pea,🙏🏾
Another really good video. 👍❤
And again you made me laugh Pea...you have a great sense of humour.
thank you Peter !!
It is tough so see this here. Sad thing is those kids are sometimes tied to criminals and the money you give them goes to their boss. I always give food or things that only the kid will benefit from.
Yes people carry on about poverty, but until you visit the philippines people have no idea on poverty.
Love all your videos...very informative
Thanks & good job. Wow. Thanks for sharing authentically.
Then if you’re up for a challenge, come on over here! 😂👍
Pea something special about that outfit in the cockpit! Your always the best pea!
@@wardcummins8736 Possibly.
Perhaps not quite that high though.
Most westerners move there to "live" and not "work" (aka retirees/expats).
So it's either live your life in the phillipines, or live the grind in your western home country.
@@commonscents2247 you won't have vacation time before retirement?
❤ Great show Pea, I often think about #2 well out and about in the Philippines. I have asked random people (tubers) in the Philippines to cover the CR topic well traveling.
I have herd people say bring your own paper because it's hard to find it in public CR's 👍👍
I always brought my own cr paper in the Ph. ALWAYS, even visiting family or luxury hotel.
Good topic. Thanks for the ideas. Love your country and the beaches. Please reopen
Great info as always
And beautiful as always ❤
Love, as always. I'm astounded by your eloquent manner. Who taught you all that stuff?🌈
Thanks pea. I love the Philippines.
Actually in catholic days whn they pray at the 15:00 they pray for Iancu from Hunedoara (a ex Roumanian leader of Transilvania he one who fight against muslims ortoman empire and he was considere the light warrior and from here IT remained Like holly day and hour
Dear Pea : Thank you : greatly enjoyed the Relaxed, intimate, friendly ambience : Bless you :)
.
this is one of your best videos production wise.
Interesting!!! So much to learn, even for me 😊
@@TheFilipinaPea well that's what I've been told here in Bislig, but it may be different elsewhere in the country.
Interesting and often true, thank you for that, I’ll use it again if you don’t mind 😄
@@TheFilipinaPea Do people in the Philippines know what Alpha, Beta or Sigma personalities are?
Older ladies are more exper and work hard. But they don’t have a 18 year old hips
You like the informal style? I can’t put in as many witty one-liners, though
I’m so glad you can confirm the trash problem - there are a bunch of Filipinos in this comment section trying to deny that we have a trash disaster
Hahahahaha
Fascinating! Thank you Pea. Live long and prosper.
Great content as always, i like this video, not scripted. No CGI extras. Thumbs up for the orange tabby cat in the background from time to time. :)
Wow! What a beautiful Lady.
Thank you for all the smiles, laughs, and all that you do for your many fans. We love your honesty, openness, charm, common sense, humor, courage. compassion, beauty, informative/entertaining skills,, and down-to-earth vocabulary.. We love you and send best wishes for continued success. Many blessings...
I love it when you were chatting about your love for animals..a beautiful cat was passing behind your chair....love it..
And nice calves!
"cosmetically challenged..." Hahaha great expression I'll use that phrase, thanks
i saw your kitties 😃 i have to say you do a very good job of discouraging me from visiting the Philippines 😂 i've seen similar situation with the trash in mexico, people just throw stuff in the street, and you see the rivers are gross. as much as i find some cultural things in other countries appealing, some things are just discouraging, it's like just changing a few things would make life nicer, but one person changing makes no difference unless the whole culture changes
Yup, my kitties love outdoors in the evening!
I know what you mean about being the only one that cares 😔
I appreciate the candor and the somewhat taboo topics that you are willing to tackle.
If I do visit, I will be a a much more informed visitor.
THANKS! I try to cover everything, the good, the bad, and the ugly 👍😊
I absolutely love the skits at the end of each video.
Pea, many years ago, I worked for an employment agency in the U.S. Often, I would get requests for women that had "front desk appearance", which meant she needed to be pretty, regardless of any other skills she may have. So, it will get better eventually for those who don't have model-quality looks.
Hi I'm new here for the first time I watching this video Filipina pea it's really funny and talking about the real happened 👍
My thoughts: Manila and Cebu....people were laid back and friendly.
I also thought it was crazy how you'd have this nice clean mall, then walk one block and see a lot of trash and poverty.
Now that’s a lot of truth bombs! The power line scramble is amazing to see! 😄
Looking especially HOT in that dress Pea! Getting my weekend off to a lovely start! 🤗
Bombs away tonight - the truth is the most important thing, whatever it is
As an electrician it horrifies me
I loved how in this video the things you were saying would make you stop sometimes. Too cute.
You are awesome. I love your personality in front of the camera!
