Phenomenal reporting but woah, that smog in the beginning is crazy 😭 I would love to see an anti-car ecological revolution because it’s heartbreaking what so many highways and so much particle pollution has done to native animal species, obscuring some of the finest landscapes and poisoning some of the most fertile terrain this country has. Wish we left Los Angeles with its native inhabitants because US deranged capitalism has taken so much from us. Peace and love from Bronx, NYC
Thanks so much for watching! And the pollution is bad out here for sure, I heard it was even worse in the 80's and 90's. I remember growing up even in the early 2000's and seeing more smog when on the freeway with my parents as a kid. Los Angeles has some really cool plans with expanding public bus and subway networks in the upcoming years! Reminds me that I should look into doing an episode on urban planning! Yes, the Indigenous communities along the river still exist today demanding for land back and land sovereignty, so it is essential we continue to remind people that the LA river is magical but also has a deep horror story of displacement + violent to construct a concretized area.Thank you again for watching, it means a lot!
