Eco-Spirituality explained
As the world continues to face unprecedented environmental and social challenges, people are increasingly turning towards nature-based religions to find solace, guidance, and purpose. We explore how these ancient and modern practices connect individuals to the Earth, emphasizing interdependence, balance, and reverence for all living beings. From Druidry, Catholicism, Hinduism, Christianity, etc.
In the face of escalating climate crises and societal instability, so many are seeking faiths that honor the natural world and advocate for collective care. But how can we ensure those faiths also do not contribute to the oppression of others?

Desert Ecology: Joshua Trees Are Disappearing In California
Просмотров 865Месяц назад
Desert ecology looks at how different species have adaptations to the desert, where resources operate differently than in other ecosystems. So, what's happening to Joshua Tree? Most species have unique adaptation abilities in an extreme climate like the desert. One fascinating aspect of desert ecology is that numerous species are endemic (they are only found here) to the desert. The desert ecos...
Is US Energy Infrastructure On The Brink Of Disaster?
Просмотров 164Месяц назад
The U.S. energy infrastructure is in a state of crisis. From outdated power grids to increasing vulnerability to natural disasters, the system that powers our daily lives is struggling to keep up with modern demands. Aging infrastructure, lack of investment, and reliance on fossil fuels lead to more frequent power outages, energy insecurity, and environmental damage. The demand for electricity ...

In this special episode of my web series, my team embarked on an incredible journey to Finland to meet Dr. Panu Pihkala, one of the world’s leading experts on climate mental health and eco-anxiety. Dr. Pihkala, an adjunct professor of environmental theology at the University of Helsinki, ha...

Earth Sessions at Climate Week NYC. The Earth Sessions team invited me to give a talk on the role of radical imagination and what it means to me. I shared a personal story about my grandparents. I grew up never knowing them, but I felt so close through the embodiments of their past lives. It feels beautiful to reconnect with loved ones through the power of ancestral storytelling. Foraging is on...

Thank you for this. But, we need ways to connect posted. And, ways to donate.
Hi! You can find it on the description summary below for Mojave Desert Land Trust and how to donate to them :)
I'm going to start describing bugs by their charisma level
yesss :D
My thought are that the ocean turns glass into sand and the creatures use the glass for shelter. Also micro plastics are this centuries lead epidemic. So let’s not forget that self preservation takes number 1 priority.
I have done myasters In geology and I want to do PhD in environment sci should I go for it? Anybody please suggest
This is very NR1990 lore right here!
Thorn is my type that’s what I think also the hex girls will always be my idols
If seriously think that’s the reason why it’s blowing up, then you’re as delusional as the climate deniers 😂
Shrek did it first.
People don’t have the discipline to eat raw vegan 🤦🏾♀️
Thank you, Isaias. What a great video! Really important for you to bring out that Europe has/had indigenous spirituality and practices. This usually gets completely lost and Europeans are encouraged to identify with a culture deeply tied up with collonialism. I will think how I can use this video to help with the charity work I am doing in Birmingham UK, working with faith communities on developing Eco-Action projects. I was also reminded about a conversation I had with an indigenous woman of Columbia on Zoom recently about her healing experiences of working with Western Sufis, like Neil Douglas Klotz, in relation to the Catholicism which was imposed on her people. And I'm reminded of the work done by Tasnim Fernandez on Our Lady of Guadaloupe which is part of this healing work. Your reference to the Roman Empire was really telling too, I think. That earlier collonialism in Europe has really shaped ideas of European identity and covered over the indigenous present and past. The huge permanent grasslands of my own home area in E England and the transhumance lifestyle which went with them were only finally lost as recently as 1800 ish, during the enclosures. Yet nowadays they are pretty much completely forgotten. Thank you again for a valuable and timely contribution to this dialogue for positive spiritual change for the Earth!

I LOVEEE GOBLINCOREEEE 🥀🪨🌷🌲🌳☘️
Wait can someone explain nu goth then
I’m applying to unis and been stressed out because of my major. Environmental Science isn’t offered as a degree in my community college so I majored in math and science. 9:47 I found this super interesting in applying calculus to that wow! I’ve repeated two math classes in the past but at the moment I’m actually enjoying my calculus 2 course right now. Repeating math made me stronger in math. I remember wanting to change my major because of how male dominated it was in my math courses 😭 I felt very alone since they would all talk to each other and separate themselves from women. In my current math course rn there’s only 4 girls including me. The rest are guys.. I’m so glad I didn’t let that change my mind about my college path ! Thank you for this video.
2029: Ahemm... Apophis: Ahemm...
Bruh it won't happen I hope
I rlly don't want my mom to die, or my loved ones, I had a dream that my mom died, We were on a resort, after my mom went a a plane, but I didn't get onto the plane. She died IN my dream, when I woke up I cried so much, I explained to my mom, Save the earth!
This video ✨️ so many great talking points! Thank u!!!!
Thanks so much for watching!
Ahh the seed bank is so cool! Thank u for showing us how crucial it is, especially since not all the desert plants produce seeds every year.. What a fascinating job. I would cry in the presence of all those precious mojave plant babies 🥹 how special!
Saving seeds is so important! And it was so cool to see what jobs they have at the organization!
I wish people understood how important deserts are to our world. Without the Sahara we would not have the fertile amazon rain forest!
Right!!!
Climate clock do nothing god what want fo to earth
I'm a minimalist and I don't buy products till I need them but I throw or donate the stuff I don't need😂❤😊 God bless you we are low income and have done this for years 😂
every new year is more fear
are you saying that nuclear poisoning is racist?
"Desert ecosystems are one of the most preserved ecosystems." "Hold my beer" - solar farm companies
I was not so happy when I heard that they want to develop on the desert where there should be active dialogues and permission!
If the year 2029 years the climate clock turns to 00:00:00😮 i think this is the end.. of the year
I have done masters in geology and i want to ask that can i pursue my PhD degree in environmental science? Will it be worth?
love this 💝
Thank you for watching ♥️🏜️🥹
great work !!!
Thanks so much for watching and supporting :D!
Had to watch this again. It’s sooo good; hoping for more vids like this!
No shade to the butterflies 😂🦋
We love them too but moths get unappreciated 🥹♥️
Really appreciate you guys' work. As a poc I've always had a connection to nature early on since my family came from a rural/agricultural country but have struggled to see myself in the mainly white environmental movement that tends to see nature and ppl as separate. Even historically, my ancestors were enslaved in huge part b/c of their agricultural knowledge which is never recognized, and so, you really are opening up the space more for these different kinds of reframing to occur. When we talk about environmental justice it's not just about inequality but remembering our heritage.
We are so grateful you watched this episode it means a lot to me and this is the reason why I created this web series and collaborated with the CEL lab because these conversations get left behind so many times! Thank you for sharing your story and getting to know about Critical Ecology ♥️
Such a great video! Learned a lot 😮
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you found it informative 🌵!
You are right, when people hear the term they obviously think it implies giving up land. If this is not the sole purpose of the movement, why not change the name? From the top of my head, "Rebuild the Indigenous" for example is more encompassing to the goals you outlined in the video and you don't have to spend 90% of the time explaining to people that the name of the movement is not what they think it means given the name of the movement.
Is 1.5 degrees cold or rly hot lol😂
Bruh i live in hot country it mean it will hotter bruh💀💀💀💀
Wonderful! I am so glad i found your channel :) thank you
Love the desert 🌵
One of my favorite places to visit 😆
This was so amazing, I really loved that you featured so many individuals that were amabasadors for the desert!
Thank you so much for watching these comments mean a lot to me 🥹♥️ And it was so important for our team to cover so many different people working here focusing on specific conditions of the desert
Isaias! the production the details!! ahh all so intentional to teaching climate together <3 Learning about the seed bank and ethnobotany is so interesting!! I'm so grateful that you are documenting this so that other folks and organizations can learn about this and get involved. I see this episode being featured in college classrooms.
I'm so happy this episode is inspiring people to learn more about Joshua Trees and desert ecology! And can’t wait for professors to show it to their students eep!!
Please, learn how to normalize the sound between the different mic sources used; this can be done pre or post-production. Your mic is at a proper RUclips volume, whereas Kelly's is at a lower attenuation. I have to double the volume to hear her compared to you. From a quick reading of the dublado, Kelly is not listed at all as the person you are interviewing, though her organization possibly is, The Mojave Desert Land Trust, though this is ambiguous. I like what you have to say and want to help you excel!
Hi! Thank you for your valid feedback on mics and issues, during the shoot we had some issues with the wind and had to readjust mics due to having a missing part. But I agree that our processes are always evolving to make sure audio comes out crisp and clear. I found that if displayed on TV there are slight audio differences than playing on a computer. Kelly is one of the co-hosts, however, the group and I decided to make sure its also an overview of MDLT work as this organization does not operate with just one person and the reason for covering the diverse talent in this was to showcase different perspectives. In our other episodes we typically have a central talent but with this one we wanted to be more experimental of how we told the story which is valid for how people can perceive it to their understanding. Thank you for this feedback it makes me want to improve and be better for the next! And my team of videographers have their own mics now that makes sure audio levels are not off and are the same :D
so excited and proud of you having your fourth episode!!!
Thank you so much for the support! It means so much to my team and I!
OMG, this is garbage. Veganism doesn't need to be divided by race politics. If you have a burning building, whoever runs in to save the victims, is a hero. We don't need to bicker about what race the rescuer is. The goal of veganism is for ALL people to stop harming animals, so if white people are leading, GET OUT OF THEIR WAY or better yet, join in. Stop hijacking veganism, it's NOT about humans.
Can’t wait to see !!
Same here!
Ouf 😮💨 i was so scared 😅 Thanks for the explication 🫡
