I thought judges were supposed to hold themselves to a higher standard.
Unfortunately, this situation is far more dangerous for our democracy than calls for Alito and Thomas to Recuse. As Alito has argued on the issue of Immunity, saying "We can't trust the DOJ or American Citizens on Grand Juries. That is why the president must be immune." Question: If this comes to be, how will the president not be a King?

@@ga6589 I don’t think that they are expected to show that they’re completely impartial/no partisan… why else would the president be the one who annoys them? Otherwise, if they were supposed to be partisan, they would need to be chosen from a different Pool not from a partisan president.I’ve never seen the liberal justice show that they’re impartial. I have never seen one of those three liberals take a conservative stand chief Roberts is the only one who’s in the middle. The other four are totally conservative Clarence Thomas being the most.

If their impartiality could reasonably be questioned, a Justice must recuse under US Code 28.455.

Alito owes to much to the people that pay him for him to resign. Alito needs to be removed from office and more Supreme Courts justices added to the bench, plus rules of conduct like all other Judges.

Judge Alito represents American justice and law. Today he hung the flag upside down, which means he doesn't respect America, which also means he wants to leave his place. We should welcome him to leave his current position and give this position to someone else.
The true issue here is lifetime appointments and SCOTUS interpretation of Article III. Article III was interpreted by the very people who benefited the most by the misinterpretation. Any challenge to this interpretation would be heard and ruled upon by: You guessed it! it is a judicial catch-22.
One remedy is to amend Article III which is very highly unlikely. Another remedy (Which I am resistant to) would be to expand the court, But who's to say the new justices would vote to limit their own power.
This is a sad day for our Country. This is the ultimate disgrace.
