Alan Chambers appeared on a national news program February 6, 2007 making statements about Ted Haggard's three week "change," gay Christians, and his own reasons for leaving homosexuality. This video reveals how Alan and Exodus' track record on these issues don't match up. Most dramatic is Melissa Fryrear's claim she's met exgays who changed instantaneously.

How could someone hate himself so much??? I really feel sorry for Alan Chambers. He obviously hates his own guts to attempt such blatant and brutal denial of the very core of his own being.

Thank God Alan saw the light recently and gave a full whole-hearted apology.

I do not, or will ever believe for a moment; that the very principle on which Christianty is based - love - could ever be sinful. You seriously cannot help who you fall in love with. It has been repeated again and again that sexual orientation is not something that you choose, and these feelings have been running through me since the age of seven. When I found out, I had been attempting to pray it away for so long - though it never left. I know now, that it's this way that God wants me to be.

At least Exodus closed today and Alan admitted he was wrong.

How bout this: Alan feels that being homosexual is wrong. He sees sexual ejaculation and penetration as something addictive not unlike drugs. He sees men as addictive, and apparently wishes to become addicted to women. He reads in the bible that he should not be that way and thus is trying....trying not to be that way. If you are a gay and can't follow this man then don't.

Seems like gay watch is picking at bones and missing the real meat of the issue here- explicitly that a faith and trust in God is more important than fleeting moments of pleasure, or to be fair, a lifetime of moments of pleasure in a monogamous relationship.
May God bless us all. May we all recognize the pain and destruction of sin and receive Christ's mercy. May God empower us to appreciate the beauty, diversity and other blessings that come through freedom in Christ.

You can't do anything with only three weeks of counseling

Seems like ex gay watch is picking at bones here and failing to grasp the bigger points that a faith and trust in God are more important than a fleeting moment of pleasure, or, to be fair, a lifetime of fleeting moments of pleasure in a monogamous relationship.
May God bless all people who practice homosexual acts with his miraculous mercy. May they come to know the peace of Christ and may we all find rest for our souls. All have sinned (not just people who practice homosexual acts).

The CNN anchor is gay himself and CNN has consistently derailed Prop 8. This interview would have been better if you didn't cut and paste.

I wanted to comment on your last point. Exodus clearly makes a distinction between gays and homosexuals. "Gay" people are ok. Participating in homosexual activity is not. They will refute your arguments forever using this logic.

@g0ysorg He had a relapse and he has been cured of gayness.

Don't be sorry. God is just like Linus's Great Pumpkin. And the Bible is just a collection of legends like all the other books of legends of that time, such as the Book of Gilgamesh, the Iliad, the nordic legends of Thor, the Popol Vu, etc. They are all attempts of primitive people trying to explain natural phenomena.

I'm sorry you feel this way, however there is a God, He does love you, and despite what you think the Bible is true!

@Loompa69 You saying this is denying the Supremecy of God Almighty! If you truly let the Holy Spirit into your life, Miracles will, and do happen!

@kenmcint2 You're right. The haters of God (borrowed from Romans 1), like to twist peoples words and edit video clips to try and prove their points!
