Punkrock musician here!.. my band uses the model24, we mic up everything, set levels, hit record, and we play. It's that easy.. mix and master on the unit, export the stereo file, and done.. you have a complete track. The model series are truly fantastic work horse units.
Model 12 was my first piece of gear for my home recording setup. It’s the heart of my operation, routing signals through all my equipment. Had mine for 18 months and I’m still finding new ways to make my workflow easier. It’s like it has answers to questions I haven’t even asked yet, no 🧢.
Thank you brother for the info and can’t wait for the tutorials on the model 12. I have purchased one and never used it and would love to learn how to used it with the MPC X.
@@ChristopherJenkins73 lol hence the word popular. People really ain’t checking for Reason (I love it) but it really fell off when it leaned into the subscription based construct.
Any “class compliant” (an audio interface that does not need a driver/software to work) can interface with an MPC LIVE/X/etc. For whatever reason, the Model 12 was the mixer/interface that RUclipsrz used to show off that firmware upgrade for MPC and Maschine + (yep…they both can use an external interface). I have a Behringer X32 that can interface with my MPC Live v1. The M12 “mode select” is a throw back to the Tascam 4-Track cassette recorder days. The whole vibe of the M12 is a throw back. The M12 and I think the new 2400 are mostly digital mixers. The M16 and M24 are partially analog. The difference being where the AD conversion happens and if the faders are MIDI-controlling-digital (M12) or pre AD “real analog”. Don’t quote me on that, but that is what I recall from when I did my research, back when I got my M12.
I can sample anything from my phone wirelessly to the MPC! Any idea, sound, or music that comes to mind I simply Bluetooth to the Model 12 👌🏼 My tools for sound production on my Shorts.
I push mine to its limits in dub and absolutely love it. It’s expensive still but you can rock the stems on sd card, don’t even need the computer. If that’s your swag?
🙏 thanx . Thinking of getting one. A lot there for the money and tascam always good quality, plus like the look and the layout. Think mackie/yamaha got some nice kit too. Got a ko2,roland S1,po33 plus fx pedals and looking to record some reggae/dub/techno beats. Still at the early part of the learning curve & tempted by the model12. One Love ❤💛💚🎛🔉🎶🎵🎯
Through the interface 11 and 12 are also inputs that are mixed with the main stereo outs. Technically 12 channels without any physical control over the last two.
of course not, it has much more, but the same interface and engine but better pre-amps, more routing, phantompower-channels, more outs, more Aux, fully fledged compressor-section, amm
It’s just too big for my setup. I have been using 1010music blueboxes because of the small footprint. It would be so much better to have one mixer that is in that same footprint that can do as much as the model 12.
I use a G-Mark GMX1200 with my MPC, a 12 channel which has all these features, it works excellent no buzz and it’s better than this one. Each his own tho.
I own the model 12 but thinking of getting the Big 6. The Big 6 definitely sounds better. By far. But the model 12 got some nice features the 6 doesn’t have

those preamps ..damn they are the best for a portastudio under 2000$ The best.
I never knew about That Bluetooth option, you the only one who brought it up 🙏🏾 thanks
What is the BT latency like? Playable live?
Please make more instructional videos on the model 12. Love the content as always thank you. Peace

Awesome content my man. Keep em coming 💯
Model 12 turns into a DAW controller for your popular DAW’s
Ableton Live
Pro Tools
Cubase
Cakewalk
Logic
Digital Performer (DP)
Reaper
Studio One
There’s an option in the menu to customize the M12 for the DAW you’re using.
I need it in Reason 13

Hello. Your Master clas for key 37 rocked the house. Sign me up for a masterclass on the tascam 12
Just got the model 12 a couple months ago and looking forward to diving into this
It is my dream mixer for my Ableton set up
Excellent content Brother... Please make more videos real real soon. Mainly showing how to lay down tracks when synced USB to the MPC

Yes sir great video!!!
Main Out is your 11/12..you can record to that as well.
Can you do a video making a beat from scratch with the 12?
I can sample anything from my phone wirelessly to the MPC! Any idea, sound, or music that comes to mind I simply Bluetooth to the Model 12 👌🏼 My tools for sound production on my Shorts.
Quality video as always love it! Can you do video of you making beat on beatmaker 3 please? I would really appreciate it

That’s what’s up!! 💪🏾👊🏾
It's cheap when you look at buying a mixer, recorder and interface seperatly though
Love my Model 12 but the AFL and mode button f'ed me up a lot at first. Those and the effects took awhile to get the hang of
Great Video elbOW! I Returned Mines, I Didn't have the space after making my New Desk....
Really nice!

You looking great, Marcus. Hope Mrs. Bunnie is well, too!
Thanks David! 🙏🏾👊🏾
I have been on the fence about this for a while. Can you do a video showing your MPC workflow with Tascam?
I get that bro /Jamie parks studio production thanks maestro
Came for the model 12 left with Koala sampler
Hi!How are you? Do you think it can be used as an external mixer to dj?
It’s model 12 because they count the main stereo out as 11/12
Through the interface 11 and 12 are also inputs that are mixed with the main stereo outs. Technically 12 channels without any physical control over the last two.
Ooohhhh, I thought I heard someone say that the two Inserts (jacks) made it 12.
Does the tascam 2400 have the same features?
of course not, it has much more, but the same interface and engine
but better pre-amps, more routing, phantompower-channels, more outs, more Aux, fully fledged compressor-section, amm
I was gonna get the Model 12 but I learned about the PreSonus 32SC and got that instead.
That’s wasn’t a bad buy!! 🙏🏾👊🏾

Does it do the same thing in that can you use it with a daw and can you put the tracks from the MPC on separate tracks.
You can’t record directly into the model12 (no internal hard drive)…you must use a SD card.
Facts. I caught after a said it. 👍🏾
Is it better than The Big 6?
I own the model 12 but thinking of getting the Big 6. The Big 6 definitely sounds better. By far. But the model 12 got some nice features the 6 doesn’t have
Why did I sell mine 😭
