Cockpit Casual Short - "How it all Started" | AvGeek Series | Cockpit View

- We get a lot of questions from viewers about how we ended up in this crazy line-of-work, and this 9.5 minute 'Short' that tells the basic story of how it all came together. Using some older trip footage from the pre-Speedtapefilms era, this clip was originally going to be the teaser for the series, but was later scrapped in favor of the official teaser.
The music on this one is one of my personal favorite tracks from my father (@jzguru1)'s "Steve Giordano Spacetet" Album Sea Dreams. The track is a version of Ralph Towner's "Beneath an Evening Sky".

To be honest, favorite series I've ever watched on the internet please continue we love it ; D
Its amazing indeed! Loving every episode
I totally agree. Best content on youtube as of right now. This guy have it all!
Couldn’t agree more
+1
Same
Your style leaves most of the other aviation channels in the dust. Relaxing, real world and the odd golf shot or two! Looking forward to the next niche part of aviation. Amazing story of the 'early days'.
I love your series. I love the remarkable contrast between your style and the rigid uniform style of those who fly pax for a living.
I remember talking to a guy at the gate in Qatar 10 or 12 years ago. He said he was a ferry pilot. Mighta been one of you guys.
Definitely the greatest job in the world. Love the channel.
Living the dream thru you my friend.
I definitely enjoy watching your stuff, man. Your my newest hero, actually. Bob too. It's amazing what you guys have accomplished. Then, to document, edit, & upload is a whole nother feat. Rock on dudes! Would love to run into you somewhere! A ride-along would be a dream.
You have created the best job in the world of aviation. Congratulations.
My second cockpit Casual video. Loved it as much as the first.
I took the route of Airlines.
Floats Twin Otter , arctic and through the system on types . Now a 777 Captain.
Everyones journey is different yet strangely the same
Enjoyable videos.
Yeah. More similar than not. I love what they do, but Ill take my DL contract and 401k. I can do this stuff on Microsoft Flight Sim. It is cool, but I prefer stability and bouncing around a few US airports in the 73.
Now I can see why you have a beard, shaving would make you miss your flight 🤣! Outstanding, your polished “ narrators drawl” lends to to the quality of this content. Being a point to point driver, I shall fly vicariously through your videos... unless you need Aussie based crew (I’m sure there are many who would put their hands up) 🤔!
Really great to see how things got started. So much of life is related to the forks in the road and the decisions we make.
Isn't that the truth. I was a strike replacement for my 1st choice airline. Didn't cross the picket line and went with my 4th choice. Ended up being the correct decision as my 4th choice's retirement was the only one that prevailed of the top 4 airlines.
This is great stuff Steve! As an airline pilot I love to see this side of aviation that I knew absolutely nothing about! And the way you produce and edit the vlogs is top notch! Keep it up!
Thanks man. Appreciate that!
I am not a pilot but I always wanted to be one. This series is wonderful. Your editing and music are fantastic.
I wish I was on the aircraft some great photography to be had from all over the world. Memories with some of the routes filmed. ❤
Wow, as for young wanna be a pilot guy it is so inspiring! Good luck and safe travels! :D
Like most people I stumbled across this channel and it’s compulsive viewing . Love it. I’m an aircraft engineer so can relate to most of what you do. I never knew ferry pilots existed until now
6:25 Shangrila? Great videos legend! I'll shout you a beer in Australia
OMG I lived in Phoenix for 15 years. We would go to Phoenix Goodyear airport all the time.
At the end of this video you focused on that Corsair 747. I've told my family and friends for YEARS that if I ever won the lottery for millions, I'd buy that very plane, and make it into my house. Just you showing "My Precious" made me giddy. We were watching the video saying we wouldn't get to see it because last year, that plane was all the way at the southwest side of the runway. So they've moved it to the middle now. It used to be at North end. Thanks for making my day.
That's awesome! I spent 2005 flying out of Gateway, then 2010-13 living in Surprise. Not sure if I ever was at Goodyear. Similarly, there's a Connie sitting at the edge of the ramp in Salina, KS! Years ago I took a CRJ200 from ATL to Salina with four crews of 900 pilots to bring 4 RJs out of storage. They made us wait until those 4 left so we didnt leave anyone stranded. My FO and I walked down to look at the Connie. It was hot AF that day, and we just sat under the wing for hours, watching as each RJ left town. Pretty cool. Shiiiit, I could live in that thing as is! 😂
Man, I can not even fly a kite. It sure is neat to watch you pros. Envious? You bet!
An Airbus is way easier than a kite. 😂
Go with the FLOW - makes good sense
Shout out to the lbi sticker on the back window. Born and raised
This series is my favorite thing on the internet right now!
when i stumbled across one of your videos yesterday i realized very quickly that its one of those rare times of finding something new and very special. And after watching the first video you click on the channel hoping there are many more videos to watch. Here i am watched nearly every video and cannot wait for the next one to come. Great videos!
Fascinating. I could watch hours of videos of your random trips throughout the years. Looking forward to the next one.
Fantastic!!!
Absolutely fantastic videos!!!
This is great content, thanks for creating this channel.
Love it
This is finally what I needed on RUclips. Awesome channel
Another great one!
I watch them all. Hope for much more movies. The music is just fantastic! Love it 👌👌
So good!
Looking forward to the next video! Huge respect for what you do, the logistics, stick + rudder abilities, and the aptitude to display it so eloquently. Its not easy to do what you do, but I can really appreciate it! Keep up the magnificent work your doing.
Thank you!
Another great video. Thanks for taking us along on the adventure.
Great series, look forward to more !
This is the best aviation content out there! Love it
Thank you for that short but informative video, I had been wondering how it all started.
All your vids/series is fab. Loved the hot island/cold island vid. Happy and safe travels..
Keep it coming!
This is brilliant stuff, please keep it going!
Loving it, keep it up.
A great series that's for sure
I've wanted to fly since i was 5. I got out of high school, told myself i was too dumb, and spent 5 years trying to become a chef instead.
But that itch doesn't go away.
So instead of doubting myself i'm finally going to uni to study. If theres any others here born to fly that have told themself time after time it's not possible or it'll be too hard just remember, this is what you were born to do. Follow it relentlessly, never give up and always back yourself. If you've got that itch you dont want to be the person looking back on their life wishing they'd scratched it. we mis 100% of the opportunities we don't take. 99% of you are reading this and thinking i'm one of those bots or i'm just preaching bullshit, but if you made it this far, its because you know it's true. If i can convinve a born pilo to fly for real instead of wasting that knowledge or ability then i'll be happy.
Love it! Live your dream
Phenomenal series...

I think you have a unique opportunity to show this type of flying to the world. Good job with edit.
Mate loved this video, to be honest never knew this sort of thing existed till I watched a video of captain Bob on tiktok and started following you. Well done
I dont know what I can write. Fantastic job, I didnt know for this side aviation. Thank you for this.
More Videos please! Really enjoying the content and the work you do. Looking forward to the next video!
Love your videos, keep them coming and add some minor tech details on the different aircraft you fly on
Thank you for sharing very interesting, and the music is really great!
Awesome! Thanks for letting us all be on your jump seat!! I've landed in Maldives many times as a passenger (UL LHR to CMB I used to take frequently to visit my family had a stop in MLE for many years) and always wanted to see the view from the front, not just my window seat or the forward camera!!
Congratulations on an awesome career from a different angle and a great channel.
Well done guys. You’d have created a wonderful and addictive channel. Keep up
the great work. 🙌👊
Wow! It is a very rare moment for me to be jealous. Lowly airline guy here, and I gotta say, I dig what you guys do! It looks like a good blend of some SOP but when you said "ditch the uniform", ai was like HELL YEAH! Also jelly of your facial hair. The westwind is badass! Dont change the panel! Its good for you. 😂 I actually just got MSFS2024. Not a super nerd, but it does bring out some aviation nerd in me fo sho. Been flying all sorts of stuff all ova the place. I think what you guys have going here is really awesome. Thanks for making some good videos! Ill systematically watch them. Hope I run in to you guys some time. This is legendary. Ok, back to just my 737 every day. Damn you make me feel boring! 😂
Damn cool story! Loving all the adventures.
Wonderful video..... keep going ! God bless you
8:36 "... I felt it should be shared with the world."
Truer words I have not heard. Thank you for sharing your unique world. Your gift of being able to tell a story, in words and pictures is truly rare. Thank you. I am enjoying this journey. Thank you for bringing me along.
Amazing
HOW did i just discover this. AMAZING stuff

Nice!
I can’t get enough of your videos. What great, informative story telling.
Thank you!
Very fascinating facts and lives people live around the world. You'll are brave hearts ❤️✈️
Incredibly interesting and fascinating series. I’m studying Aerospace Engineering and am about to finish my PPL. Who knows what comes next. Your story shows me that really nobody can guess what’s next…I am looking forward to your next videos.
Great video. Smoooooooth music....
Steve, just stumbled on your channel...love it! Like you, I'm a ferry captain. I work for a company that buys B767-323ERs, A321s, and now A330s. We (a group of OLD retired freight dogs) deliver them to LLBG for a facelift into freighters. Then redeliver them to lessees around the world. Been to YBAS several times, disappointed you didn't mention the lovely flies there during the summer. I strongly agree with your praise for VRMM. Simply beautiful! Great speedboat ride to the mainland hotel. I dig your channel and your jazz selections. Moe T.👍😎
You are a Gem.What your giving us is an experience like no other. You almost feel like you are there.
Thanks Betho!! That’s what I’m trying to do! Give you access to our jumpseat. We do something that few others get to - and I thought you’d all like to come along for the ride!
I very rarely comment on these things, but man I am hooked on this series - you have a legit fan! I have to say I do not think I have ever enjoyed a narrated video as much as watching this series. I thank you for this content, It truly is like being in the jumpseat!
My favourite place is Switzerland. Love the mountains
Awesome videos Steve, your knowledge and experience is truly amazing and inspiring as to what someone can achieve. keep them coming, they're a great escape from our more 9 to 5 lives.
Thank you!!
Wonderful to watch and get to know a bit about how it all started. Certainly was a risk you took, but it has worked out very well.
This is it😊, this is the goal, if it’s sink or swim. I’m swimming.🤝🏾
Wow, everybody can learn from this video, if you are a pilot or not .
Thanks for the info on how you got it up & running... Maybe some day we can see you fly a mad dog 😊🙂👍
i ❤ your contents!
We forgive you for not being able to have a set schedule, you do in fact have the best job ever after all! Looking forward to the next one! :)
Nice one man I used to fly out of Kenya, DRC and Angola with the UN. Now I’m a boring 737 Captain in Australia. Time to get out and continue the adventures. Great vids Capt!
