On 2016 (supposed the same as 2013), the bottom cover screws are T25, and Phillips #3. The oil drain bolt is Hex 6mm. Oil filter 36mm. Strange that 2013 has T40 drain bolt and T20 cover screw.
How do you remove excess oil if you accidentally over fill it? Using a turkey battery won't work on oil cap, and I don't have the ability to open the oil pan drain... Where is the oil sensor located? Maybe I could suction off some oil from there. (There is no Audi service shop within 150 miles.)
2.0 dip stick part # 06J115611L. Make sure your dip stick handle does not make contact with your hood. Handle should not go past the top of plastic engine cover. Get a extractor to get the oil OUT through the dip stick tube . Try Harbor Freight. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS ! 👍🇺🇸
@@lajloka1 I own the same car as Mike, literally the exact same thing. If you're going to buy a high mileage audi, get OBDEleven, (Diagnostic equipment), and buy a service manual for your vehicle. If you can't afford to buy an Audi new, you can't afford to service it at the dealership so you had better roll up your sleeves and work on your own car. Q5s are $55k brand new, that means any work you have done to it will be charged as servicing a $55k car.
It’s a good car ,but you have to be a good person to the car too . Take care of your care and it’ll take care of you. The maintenance is expensive but you have to take care of your car
Using a fluid extractor is way easier, less messy and requires no jacks or stands. Highly recommend!
Thank you Mike, I appreciate the video

Thanks my dude.
This is a super great video, thanks for sharing it. Is the 2017 model the similar to your car? I got a 2.0 TDI Q5...
Super helpful!
What size of adapter is that for the filter?
Hallo Mike , I work at Audi in Germany because a 5W30 oil comes in !
Is 5w30 ok to use?
Does the second seal goes all the way to the bottom?
be careful y'all, some of the oil plugs are t45 and the t40 will strip it.

Excellent and detailed information video, thank you sir for this… 💯
What size socket did you use for the Oil Filter housing?
Al G its a 36mm
My 2013 demands that the vehicle be warmed up before giving me an oil level reading. Total PITA.
Mike, you can buy a dipstick for the Audi Q5 3.0L online for about $20.
Cool, I guess I"m not the only one that hates the electronic method!

How many miles is on your q5?
At the time of this video there were about 80K. We sold this summer with about 90K
@@DrivenCompanion What do you think about a Q5 2015 3.OT with 100,000 miles ?

Your jack stand is a PRIMARY precaution. Always use jack stands!!! A hydraulic jack is for lifting not holding.
Audi just quoted me $400 to do this.
I believe it's 6.8 liters actually.
It should be. As a rule of reference, it's usually 1 quart per cylinder and a near quart for the filter.
Is Q5 good quality?
Better than X3 in my opinion
Depends if you take care of it or not.
