Oasis was a British rock band that gained massive popularity in the 1990s. The band was formed in Manchester, England, in 1991 and became one of the leading acts in the Britpop movement. Oasis was known for its distinctive sound, which combined elements of rock, pop, and Britpop.
The core members of Oasis were the brothers Liam Gallagher (vocals) and Noel Gallagher (guitar, vocals), and they were joined by other musicians including Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs (rhythm guitar), Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan (bass), and Tony McCarroll (drums) in the early years. The band experienced various lineup changes over its existence.
    Key points about Oasis:
Debut Album: Oasis gained widespread attention with their debut album, "Definitely Maybe," released in 1994. The album included hits like "Rock 'n' Roll Star" and "Live Forever" and quickly became the fastest-selling debut album in the UK at that time.
(What's the Story) Morning Glory?: The band's second album, "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?" (1995), propelled Oasis to international superstardom. It featured iconic tracks such as "Wonderwall," "Don't Look Back in Anger," and "Champagne Supernova."
Rivalry: One of the defining aspects of Oasis's story was the ongoing feud between the brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher. Their public disagreements, both on and off stage, were widely reported and contributed to the band's narrative.
Later Years: Oasis released several more albums, including "Be Here Now" (1997), "Standing on the Shoulder of Giants" (2000), and "Heathen Chemistry" (2002). However, internal conflicts and changing music trends led to the band's breakup in 2009.
Legacy: Oasis left a lasting impact on the music scene, influencing a generation of bands. Their songs continue to be popular, and the Gallagher brothers' dynamic is often remembered as one of the most iconic elements of the Britpop era.
Despite the challenges and controversies, Oasis remains a significant and enduring part of the 1990s music landscape.

Who fired the first shots? Liam, Noel, both? Reunion? Yes? No? So many questions!

I feel really bad about this. Loved their music and heard of breakup years ago....and didn't think too much of it except it was unfortunate back then. Now we are all in our 40s and it makes me extremely sad. Old enough with gray hair yet young enough to still do great things in music. But what I see is a younger brother who actually misses his big brother. The older brother is being the older brother who's doing the big brother dismissive thing. Liam won't call because he's being the obstinate little brother and Noel is being the obstinate big brother. Both need to let it go. I say Noel, as the bigger brother, should make that effort. His brother definitely is showing to me that he needs that big brother by his side.

My view is Noel had already grown tired being part of a band.
Until 2009 he had already done plenty of giggin' under the name"Noel Gallagher" and not "Oasis" + All 00's he had told us he'd like to make a solo album.
The brothers had had a rift since mid90's it so there's no point over-psychologizing their relationship when it comes to the night of the split up. Noel didn't stop liking Liam that night or the other way round, they had already stopped way before.
Noel left cos he wanted to leave, late summer 2009 Liam's admittedly aggressive behaviour at one point gave Noel the excuse and the courage to finally actualize it.
It's a shame they wouldn't finish the tour though.
Well.. Noel gained the publicity he needed so he could play the victim and start again admittedly successful solo career, especially at the very beginning when he sold almost a million records which is very good considering it was 2011.
True victims were the fans who were already there, had put their money on seeing Oasis and were let down, some might've travelled from far away to Paris that day.

A very solid way of looking at it. I agree without a doubt the real victims were the fans in Paris.

It’s easier for Noel to be the chief in NGHFB and he’s doing a damn fine job of it. In an Oasis reunion, Liam has an equal shout in his mind of having his say and it won’t work. Rather hear Liam team up with Squire and put a band together with him even if it’s only for an album and a tour over a year or two.

Liam is missing the point of why Noel was travelling separately from the band & why he wanted to leave. He’d put up with so much nonsense and he was always the one who had to front up & explain Liams behaviour for years. When it comes down to it Noel had just had enough and couldn’t cope with it anymore. ✌️👍✌️

I have a sister 18 months older and we cannot come together. Here's how it goes... One is a selfish, big-headed, difficult buffoon 25% of the time but can't own up to it, or apologize to anyone. The other, after YEARS has had enough, has moved on, and is never going to kneel or accept being spineless any longer. Both are stubborn, but one is more justified.

I always saw oasis as the greatest victory for the working classes since the Sex Pistols. They had swagger and attitude, a fair few decent tunes, and were decent love back in the day. 5:00 With ambition like that, no wonder nothing is happening or improving on the reunion front. I know Liam loves to talk and sing but if he's not gonna take the musicianship seriously then... selling an image is all he's good for then. He never does anything. Nor does he want to be accountable for anything. He's like a woman.

Oasis overated ? I don't think so , there are loads of bands and artists who are overrated, and oasis aren't one of them , they sold millions of records , made songs that will stand the test of time and are still there in the background, and aren't even together, people still want it ,every album noel does is a masterpiece apart from one ,who built the moon but we're a few tunes on it , I think noel don't give a fuck to be fair if they got back together when he looks at his bank balance, he still doing it now he don't need oasis , but I love Liam as much and he is doing well sold out knebworth for two nights as a solo artist , not many bands about today could do that ,I can't think of one new band who as been about a few years who could do it, don't forget oasis had only been around 3 years when they did knebworth well 2 years really , that's unbelievable so , oasis overrated?
