I just purchased an shop vac hose adapter. The one that fits multiple hose sizes from one inch to 2-1/2 inches, loosened two screws in the rear that holds two halves of the saw's dust tube together, shoved the adapter into the tube, tighted up the two screws and attached my vacuum. Works great!
Hey there, so how well does it work? What about all the dust that flies around the rear perimeter area? Also, when you turn your sop vac on, does the soft rubber ‘dust collecting rubber funnel’ collapse? Tks
It works well considering the fact that you don't have to buy any of Dewalt's extra proprietary dust collection parts. There is still some dust that doesn't get collected around the rear perimeter. I've heard before that no dust collection method is 100%. The rubber funnel does collapse and I plan to remedy that. There are a couple videos on RUclips that have a fix for the collapsing rubber funnel.

That's a great idea!. Necessity is the mother of all inventions.
