Hey guys! I hope you are all having an amazing Friday! I am on our summer vacay, but wanted to make sure I had this ready for you right on schedule. I am so excited to show you our final kitchen remodel reveal. In this video I am showing you some budget friendly ways to update a kitchen. You all know my style and this is has very much a Modern Farmhouse Kitchen vibe. We did spend a good chunk replacing our flooring, cabinets, countertops and sink. There was just no way to do that part on a low budget, but still I think we spent much less than the average.
Those additions looked great, but as you saw it still looked very plain! SO we went ahead and added some finishing touches that cost around the $300 mark and completed the kitchen beautifully. I hope you guys enjoy the video and remember...sometimes, I am learning things as I show you and that's just part of the DIY life. :)

I love showing you how to make budget friendly home decor pieces that look high end. For the most part, I stopped shopping home decor stores like home goods, Pier1, TJMaxx, Ross and others. Being able to transition home decor season to season and change up decorating style is important, but it doesn't come cheap!
Decorating for every style and season, while having a high end look can be difficult and expensive, especially if you have a tight decorating budget. In this video and all DIY videos, I show you how to give your home and every space in your home a boost with DIY decorating projects.
Don't be afraid to step out of the Dollar Tree shopping hauls to accomplish this. Dollar tree budget friendly decorating is my favorite, but you can find inexpensive home decor pieces or supplies for do it yourself projects at other places like Goodwill, Habitat Restore, shopping clearance sections, using coupons, yard sales and Facebook Marketplace is a great place to find free stuff!

Initially I was disappointed that your cabinets and flooring were done because I wanted to see you work a whole kitchen redo magic with $300, but I watched all the way thru and was glad I stayed. You did an amazing job and your attention to the little things was exceptional. You took your kitchen from a nice one to an amazing one all for a little bit of cash. Great job.

I don't know why people are commenting such rude things... I think this is great! When you are DIY-ing it's really a lot of trial and error. Everything can be fixed down the road too. You did an amazing job especially for the budget!!

Who watched the commercials so Ms. Araceli can get more cha-Ching and do more projects? You did it again girl! I’m gonna move to Oregon and live by you to be your Tia so you can help me on projects. LOL. Awesome job Mia you keep doing you. The more you do projects, the more you’ll learn to improvise even more and the more you’ll learn to do things differently.

Great job on everything!! No one knows everything about everything !! But for sure you live and learn by making mistakes and keep on moving on to the next project. I say again great job ! I'll add one tiny thing..you can use actual picture frames around light switches or they do make extra large plates . but you came up with a great idea to complete the job 👍. Huge part on the back, you go girl

I watch so many DIY videos, are there are some good ones, but for some reason I really like this one. Your voice is nice, you don't rush and you are a true DIY person, very real. Nothing worse than watching a HGTV video with unlimited budgets and a crew of 20 doing everything. I like how everything turned out. I do love your floor in the kitchen. Do you remember what one it is? Very ingenious on the outlets when like you said, you don't want to do electric stuff yourself. It really came out amazing, thanks for posting.

Thank you so much!! I love being able to do budget friendly things around my house, because I don't have bottomless pockets lol. I'm happy you enjoyed the video. I don't remember exactly what flooring it was. I have a box in the attic somewhere so I'll have to check someday :)

Very creative fix for your outlet dilemma! For future reference all you need is longer screws for the box so you can draw them out...just cut power at the breaker first! Take off the plate and unscrew the outlet from the box and swap out for longer screws... If you ever need to do this again!

Just a small tip...Punch holes around the inner rim of your paint cans with a nail and the paint won't drip all over your cans. I also invested in a pour spout for paint cans. Eliminates so much of the mess.

Great job... you could have turned off the electrical to do what you needed ... also I think when you want a really nice cut on tiles like that... FREEZE A FEW TILES IN ADVANCE... so the ones you need will do a cleaner cut. I remember that from years ago while my boyfriend and I tiled a home he was flipping.

The outlets actually turned out really cute!!! I wish I would have known you were having this issue cause you basically unscrew the outlet faces and add washers to the backs of the screws to bump them out & make them level with the tiles. Just a trick for next time you have this dilemma! (Btw make sure you turn off the breaker ahead of time so you don't accidentally shock yourself if you do this lol) 🙂 looks so cute though!

There are outlet “box extenders” that you can put on the box to make the outlet covers fit on the outside. But what you did works and looks nice! Beautiful kitchen!

So very impressed 👏👏👏👏 now you make me feel like I can do this too . My kitchen is in desperate need .. you don’t even want to know LOL. Only thing I want to critique if you call it that . Remove your valance from your window . It would look so much more open . Again just my opinion. Over all everything to the decor looks great 👍🏼

Hey girl, I have some advice for your other viewers after watching your video I would recommend that you start at the outlets and put your smaller cute towards the corners or edges this looks cleaner. It should avoid the issues you had with your outlets. Your house looks very nice 👍 you did a great job!

  • @annmariemarin5513

Good solution for the outlets. I did that once, you are supposed to use some spacer thing that raises the outlet cover so you can get the tile under it. But you came up with a good solution. Looks great!

That adhesive mat instead of mastic cool. They make oversized wall plates might reduce the spacing.

You could have taken the receptacle and pulled it out and put a spacer in there. My husband is an electrician. You can turn the power off at the panel and you would be safe but be sure it’s off by plugging a light or appliance in before you touch it.
