I am so excited to show you our final kitchen remodel reveal. In this video I am showing you some budget friendly ways to update a kitchen. You all know my style and this is has very much a Modern Farmhouse Kitchen vibe. We did spend a good chunk replacing our flooring, cabinets, countertops and sink. I watch so many DIY videos, are there are some good ones, but for some reason I really like this one. Your voice is nice, you don't rush and you are a true DIY person, very real. Nothing worse than watching a HGTV video with unlimited budgets and a crew of 20 doing everything. I like how everything turned out. I do love your floor in the kitchen. Do you remember what one it is? Very ingenious on the outlets when like you said, you don't want to do electric stuff yourself. It really came out amazing, thanks for posting.

I'll add one tiny thing..you can use actual picture frames around light switches or they do make extra large plates . but you came up with a great idea to complete the job 👍. Huge part on the back, you go girl
Very creative fix for your outlet dilemma! For future reference all you need is longer screws for the box so you can draw them out...just cut power at the breaker first! Take off the plate and unscrew the outlet from the box and swap out for longer screws... If you ever need to do this again!

Just a small tip...Punch holes around the inner rim of your paint cans with a nail and the paint won't drip all over your cans. I also invested in a pour spout for paint cans. Eliminates so much of the mess.

There are outlet “box extenders” that you can put on the box to make the outlet covers fit on the outside. But what you did works and looks nice! Beautiful kitchen!

Good solution for the outlets. I did that once, you are supposed to use some spacer thing that raises the outlet cover so you can get the tile under it. But you came up with a good solution. Looks great!

Do yourself a huge favor and get a speed square. They’re cheap and will give you the straightest lines rather them using your tape measure. Hope that helps. Kitchen looks great!

The outlets actually turned out really cute!!! I wish I would have known you were having this issue cause you basically unscrew the outlet faces and add washers to the backs of the screws to bump them out & make them level with the tiles. Just a trick for next time you have this dilemma! (Btw make sure you turn off the breaker ahead of time so you don't accidentally shock yourself if you do this lol) 🙂 looks so cute though!

Great job... you could have turned off the electrical to do what you needed ... also I think when you want a really nice cut on tiles like that... FREEZE A FEW TILES IN ADVANCE... so the ones you need will do a cleaner cut. I remember that from years ago while my boyfriend and I tiled a home he was flipping.
If you look closely at tile work done professionally in bathrooms at restaurants and etc. you will see tile work that doesn't look as though it wasn't done professionally. A big improvement and yours looks much better. Thanks for sharing.

Your kitchen is amazing! I love the solution for the outlets - genius! The peninsula/bar whatever you call it is so pretty! That panel and the bar stool makeover was brilliant! I just LOVE your determination n lack of fear in tackling big jobs like you've done. 👍 You rock girl‼️ As far as a fix for making those annoying small cuts in the tile I've got an idea 💡 Look around your area for any new housing construction or homes being renovated n go in n ask them if they've gotta flooring guy/s around or if ones scheduled to come out n just ask the flooring guy/s if they'll cut your pieces you need with their wet saw hun. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to help you. Just a thought... 😉😊 Hope this helps. Much cheaper than buying or renting a wet saw. Especially if you don't have experience using one. 👍 TFS girl‼️

This was beautiful! I thought you were about to do what I did, make kick toe drawers. I made kick toe drawers and love them! I store my overstock supplies there. I have my dry erasers, extra cleaning cloths, packages of plastic spoons and forks for picnics.

Very creative fix for your outlet dilemma! For future reference all you need is longer screws for the box so you can draw them out...just cut power at the breaker first! Take off the plate and unscrew the outlet from the box and swap out for longer screws... If you ever need to do this again!

Just a small tip...Punch holes around the inner rim of your paint cans with a nail and the paint won't drip all over your cans. I also invested in a pour spout for paint cans. Eliminates so much of the mess.

Good solution for the outlets. I did that once, you are supposed to use some spacer thing that raises the outlet cover so you can get the tile under it. But you came up with a good solution. Looks great!

That adhesive mat instead of mastic cool. They make oversized wall plates might reduce the spacing.
Do yourself a huge favor and get a speed square. They’re cheap and will give you the straightest lines rather them using your tape measure. Hope that helps. Kitchen looks great!

The outlets actually turned out really cute!!! I wish I would have known you were having this issue cause you basically unscrew the outlet faces and add washers to the backs of the screws to bump them out & make them level with the tiles. Just a trick for next time you have this dilemma! (Btw make sure you turn off the breaker ahead of time so you don't accidentally shock yourself if you do this lol) 🙂 looks so cute though!

Great job... you could have turned off the electrical to do what you needed ... also I think when you want a really nice cut on tiles like that... FREEZE A FEW TILES IN ADVANCE... so the ones you need will do a cleaner cut. I remember that from years ago while my boyfriend and I tiled a home he was flipping.
If you look closely at tile work done professionally in bathrooms at restaurants and etc. you will see tile work that doesn't look as though it wasn't done professionally. A big improvement and yours looks much better. Thanks for sharing.

As far as a fix for making those annoying small cuts in the tile I've got an idea 💡 Look around your area for any new housing construction or homes being renovated n go in n ask them if they've gotta flooring guy/s around or if ones scheduled to come out n just ask the flooring guy/s if they'll cut your pieces you need with their wet saw hun. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to help you. Just a thought... 😉😊 Hope this helps. Much cheaper than buying or renting a wet saw. Especially if you don't have experience using one. 👍 TFS girl‼️

This was beautiful! I thought you were about to do what I did, make kick toe drawers. I made kick toe drawers and love them! I store my overstock supplies there. I have my dry erasers, extra cleaning cloths, packages of plastic spoons and forks for picnics.
