Magic when things go together perfectly , Small tip get some stainless wire lace it round the chuck key twice , attach it to a long enough brass chain , then secure it round the drill body vertical (tube) , You will never loose the chuck key .

Adam ,I've put an old speaker magnet on the top of my drill to hold the chuck key safe from loosing it every time I change a drill bit.

You can get a small chuck on a shaft that chucks into the Jacob's to use tiny drills .
