Always fun watching a drone guy unbox a scale fixed wing. It's a nice ideology but I don't think the manufacturer's pay any sort of 'homage' to anyone with their livery and finish choices, they make those decisions based on what sells, I have even been a part of the decision making of this sort of thing and I can tell you it is 100% driven by what will sell. Nicely flown

Thanks! The love of the hobby may have shown through and I might have been the one paying homage. I did end up painting the tail a sky blue and adding the tail number for more scale detail.
      Happy Flying!

I love my PT17 but now need to replace the gear. I got new gear from HH but it comes without wheels. So I need to remove the wheels from the old gear and install them on the new gear. Do you know how to remove the "hubcap"? It looks like it might just pop off but I don't want to force it. Thanks

      Hi BCJ725,
The hub caps are held on by 2 tangs that are 180 degrees from each other and at 90 degrees from them are 2 pry slots. If you get a very small flat screw driver you can slightly pry up the hub cap at the pry slots and gently push in on one of the tangs that secure the hub cap then just gently push in the other to release the entire hub cap off. By the way the wheels are held in by 2 E-clips and I added a washer just to spread the load on the E-clip better. The PT-17 is still one of my favorite planes to take to the field...

Once trimmed with 4 clicks of down elevator it flew great with a Turnigy HD 2200mah 3S upfront. It is a scale flyer so elevator for speed and throttle for altitude worked best for me.

Unfortunately no longer available... Lucky you. Hold onto it and one day you'll have a classic.

So glad to not see spektrum 😆 JUST tired of the people affiliated with horizon and their overpriced spektrum shit

Thanks for checking out my video! I agree, Spektrum radios can get pricey at times. I think that the main attraction is the customer service attached to them. The DSMX protocol is a pretty good protocol and the gimbals can be quite nice. I guess the menus are good if you are flying mostly Horizon Hobby bind and flys. My daily driver these days is the Radio Master TX16S with two ELRS modules, a Namimno on 2.4Ghz and the other a converted R9M on 900Mhz.
      Happy Flying!
