I became interested in this laptop after the 7 Pro was announced with Quadro graphics. Seems like a good build, but what a pain to upgrade! I’ll have to think hard about going after this one...
Not as easy as Lenovo but way better than the glue-shut trend in the industry. I am worried about thermal throttling though - the heatsinks and heatpipes are SUPRISINGLY well-dimensioned. Even GDDR memory appears to be cooled - is that right?
That's a lot of steps and delicate work just to upgrade RAM and SSD. I don't get why they put tape over everything. It's like they're not expecting anyone to open these up. The Dell XPS is much easier.
It doesn't look like you need to remove the tape on the "backside" of the board to take it out of the chassis, and nothing under there is upgradeable from what I can tell - the person in the video just removed it to show the internals. So, I *think* that tape is there for liquid protection, making it a good thing. The only piece of tape that I disagree with really being there is the one on the RAM cage. That, and having to essentially pull the entire main board to perform any kind of upgrade.
3:08 All that freakin' open heart surgery to be able to upgrade the RAM! Slotted RAM is 95% of the time the easiest component to upgrade. And, the placement away from the bottom vents just makes thermal dissipation that much tougher.......unnecessarily. Acer was straight up malicious with this one. Hope this is better on the 7 Ezel. Ridiculous.
The ConceptD 7 Ezel is TOTALLY different. I'v got one and upgraded the RAM and added a NVME-disc a few days ago. Remove screws (the four front ones are under white rubber protectors) and remove the bottom chassis. The RAM and second NVME-disc slot is accessible directly. No plastic stickers to remove. I replaced RAM and NVME-disc in ten minutes. I must also add that the ConceptD 7 Ezel seems and feels much more "pro" on the inside than the "Not Ezel one" in this video. I refer to the cooling system, mother board lay out and so on. The ConceptD 7 Ezel is clearly the best laptop I've ever owned, and I've have owned a lot of laptops...
@@klokskap_ thanks for the great comment! Looking forward to the Ezel. Glad to hear your satisfaction with it so far. I want the option to easily add to the 1 tb storage later.
@@nesslee4394 On Linus Tech tips channel they do a test how much difference in speed you'll get if changing RAM... Above 32Gb the small extra speed may not be worth it. 32 GB is absolutely the best option. I upgraded from 16 GB to 32 GB and to med that was the best solution.
It is very easy way to upgrade RAM and storage! Thanks Acer!

Hey, what is the background music called?
Only think i want to know if I do do is add another SSD. Not replace, add. So it can have two.
Yes, just order with one SSD and add your 2nd...
It is basically rebranded Triton 500... nice job still.
Is it possible to upgrade the CPU?

Hi pls show ram slots in ConceptD 5 i5 model
What's the battery size?
Your video does not show how to open the cover underneath....
Hey bro, I wonder if the graphic card is able to change ?

@@klokskap_ Thanks. Do you know the max speed & capacity for a ram upgrade? Im looking to add 64gb at 3200mhz

@@klokskap_ hello. Do you know if for the ezel7 pro the ram can be extended from 2 x slots of 16gb to 2 x slots of 32? Thanks
Great
