    2014 Promaster camper same P0301. Changed plug and swapped coil packs but still had the codes so I took it to the dealer since I am on vacation and just had some hand tools in a bag. Dealer offered me ride to where I was staying. Took them a minute to understand I was 700 miles from home and I was staying in the van. After low compression test found metal in the oil screen. Cam bearing failed and now I’m at the beach in a condo while my van gets a new engine.

    Sounds good except u gotta remove intake so alot more work if it's a 2 4 or 6 as those coils are under the intake but yes very smart

    I have a 2011. engine started running rough like a misfiring cylinder it was driving jerky and at about 40 km an hour speeding up from stop it got really Jerky like the transmission was dying or something. it gave a p0302 code misfiring cylinder 2. A friend told me to try cleaning the throttle body first and it completely fixed it apparently just cleaning the throttle body won't fix it for long he just told me to try cleaning it to see if that's what it was so I just went ahead and put a new throttle body on it. Check engine light went off by itself after I cleaned the throttle body. Also if it's not the throttle body spraying a good throttle body with carburetor cleaner could ruin it. Mine was clearly gummed up and sticky when I pulled it out. It was still running rough when I started it after I cleaned the throttle body but I took it for a test drive and it started running fine before I got to the end of my driveway.

    • @HooptiesGarage
      @HooptiesGarage  4 года назад

      Have you checked the fuel injector? Is the drivetrain noisy? These do have lifter issues as well. Before tearing it down for a head I would check the fuel injector, check the resistance on it etc. Second thing I would do is a compression test on it. Also another outside chance is did you check and make sure you were getting power to coil? Possible wiring issue, while less likely again another simple check.
