56 yr old woman here and enjoying u finding the music we grew up on. Love to see u give a listen to Bruce Dickenson's vocals in Iron Maiden... seems only fair after Dio Popular hits such as Hallowed Be Thy Name, Run to the Hills, Can I Play With Madness, The Number of the Beast, 2 Minutes to Midnight, Aces High, are all good starts. (Sorry, only meant to name a couple. Lol)
@markdicesare7936 it was that tour had nosebleed seats, traded those 2 tickets and 40 bucks for 3rd row to a scalper that was shooting dice with other scalpers in the parking garage stairwell. Seen Ozzy and Motley Crue there also in 84 I think.
This is an absolute banger and I've got this and more of Dio's songs on a playlist. I just love Ronnie James Dio's vocals, they are just made for songs like this aren't they? He was the vocalist for a few bands, including Black Sabbath and Rainbow, and the songs are amazing, especially 'Heaven and Hell' and 'Sign of the Southern Cross' (Black Sabbath) and 'Temple of the King', and 'Man on the Silver Mountain' (Rainbow). Also another fantastic song from the Rainbow era is 'Stargazer' and it is absolutely epic, I do hope you react to that one sometime, Anthony, it's one of my favourites! This song, 'Holy Diver' is from Dio's solo career, other great songs are 'The Last in Line' and 'One Night in the City', there's plenty more. Thanks for this reaction, Anthony, really enjoyed it.👍😊
Hi Anne! I knew that you had great taste!! Dio is one of the best! I met him in 1969 when his band Electric Elves played at a local high school when I was 16. He was born not far from me and I continued to see him through the years. I always loved him so much. Last weekend, his hometown held Dio Day where a bunch of great bands played - only 2 hours away from me. BTW - did you notice that our boy George has disappeared again?? I'm not surprised!
@@candacemay7187 Hi Candace, lovely to hear from you! Yes, Dio is fantastic and such an amazing voice, I've got quite a lot of his songs on a playlist. What a great story and how lucky you were to see him and meet him through the years. That would have been a great concert held in his hometown, he had so many fab songs. I only know him through Black Sabbath, Rainbow and his solo career, I don't know much about his band Electric Elves - what a great name! Yes, I did notice that George had disappeared again for a month so far, no surprise, I was expecting it, his pattern of behaviour will never change, in my opinion. Anyway, Candace, lovely to hear from you again, take care. 😊😊
Dio throughout the years are outstanding. Check out his time with Black Sabbath ("Sign of the Southern Cross", "I", "Children of Sea") and one of favorite the group Rainbow ("Stargazer", "Temple of the King", "Catch the Rainbow" & "Man on the Silver Mountain") .... and so many more.
You really are in for a treat by diving into the best heavy metal male vocals of the mighty Ronnie James Dio. Theatrical accents in singing, medieval videos and stories. Oh boy, keep it coming, you will love it. Stargazer could be your next song. Sign of the Southern Cross, Heaven and Hell. The catalogue is huge. Thanks for this.
Dude, this was my first concert. Summer of 1984 and I was 14 yrs old. Me n two buddies got a bust ticket from New Castle, Pa to Pittsburgh....about an hour away. My buddy's dad came and got us. If I remember right Accept and Twisted Sister opened. Good times back then. Check out... The Last in Line Rainbow in the Dark Don't Talk to Strangers Stand Up and Shout Heaven n Hell Man on the Silver Mountain Straight Through the Heart Mystery
Awsome first Dio pick! I would greatly recomend Last In Line for a second pick with even harder vocal and guitar work is absolutely penominal. Liked and subscribed
Just how much did my 14 year old Dungeons & Dragons playing pudgy little game herself worship this album? When the video hit...... oh El Gods preserve! So Banger so so so so so so so so so
Trying to watch your videos in release order but 🤷♂️..... this one should have been posted adter the Liliac cover posted on Oct.3, which you re-uploaded on Oct.20✌🙏❤🇨🇦
Dio wrote this song himself before even starting the band. The sound quality is really poor on the video unfortunately, im guessing they pulled the sound off the same old video cassette the pulled the video off and never bothered with replacing the sound which is a shame, it sounds like they put some heavy old style noise reduction on there so you get a bit of muffeled pumping sound. This video version also cuts the solo short at least.
He's the greatest metal singer of all time; so much great work from him to check out. Do a reaction to Stargazer from his time with the band Rainbow. Or Heaven and Hell when he was with Black Sabbath

As a 57 year old man, I find it awesome that music I was listening to as a teenager is till being reviewed and enjoyed by those much younger than I.
Same age and like watching the younger generation finding these bands.
Yup 56

Seen him in concert in the mid 80's in Houston Texas. One of my favorite concerts.
if you seen his Last In Line tour I was there too in 84 or 85

@@annemaclean6634 Back in the early 60's, Ronnie was a crooner, then got into rock and roll with Electric Elves, later changed to Elf. Take care!!

You should check out when Ronnie James Dio was the lead singer of Black sabbath, and he sang "Mob rules". Such a great classic song.
He was amazing! You should totally check out Rollins Band and Black Flag, front man for both, Henry Rollins is a talented madman!! Soooo fun!

YEEEEEEESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!! My 17 y.o.
There's a 2022 remix that doesn't fade out at the end, also a 2022 remaster that both to me sounds superior the original release.
