  • A year after Jason Wetmore nearly lost his legs while scalloping in Citrus County, he agreed to do an interview because the person responsible for almost killing him is still at large.

Why not put the description of the boat here on this video?

seriously, had to go hunt it down: According to the FWC, witnesses described the vessel as a Robalo or Sea Fox boat with a top. It might be either white, beige, or blue.

@@davecfishing7907 Is that a common boat? Either white, beige or blue is a widely varying description...It might be a hard one to locate.

Robalo and sea fox are two totally different vessels. Better description would help. They are just hoping someone told somebody and they snitch for a reward.

We stopped going there because of all the drunks in boats not caring who is in the water just wanting to crowd the same spots others are already diving in. Its a shame he has to pay someone to come forward. lousy people in this world

Just think a cage over the propeller would have protected him and any others, why is it not mandatory to have on all boats?

Why not just follow the rules when driving a vessel near others in the water!!!! They should have been at least 100 yards away from him if he was swimming with the flag on him!!!!

Yes I agree, also helmets in passenger cars, seat belts on motorcycles and no sharp edges on kitchen knives. One last idea if we just get rid of electricity at all those wall outlets we could save the world. Hahaha, Just poking fun…

I was out there last weekend for the first and last time. There are too many drunk idiots, no matter where you look. One boat missed my wife by less than 10 feet and when I yelled at the guy, all I got was a “chill bro”… no thanks, not worth the risk.
Glad to hear this gentleman has recovered, and I really hope they find the person that sped off

So sad, I hope they bring them to justice. We spend a lot of time in the water, snorkeling, spearfishing, etc. and always have a dive flag. However, a lot of people do not know what it means. The dive flag is not a magical force field that will protect you. It's important to have a zero-trust mentality and always be aware of the boats and jet skis around you.

And you choose not show the boat because you need traffic to your website. This is why the news is horrible now and days.

Flags and floats will not help at all when that certain boater comes by.... Ive had over 5 close encounters that would have killed me. Just 2 months ago i was almost hit and my buddy gor directly run over somehow he only had bruises. But the boats propa destroyed his gear

Makes a great argument for prop guards. Wouldn't expect Desantisville to require them. Narragansett Bay

Yeah, it's the governor's fault!! We need more laws, less liberties because freedom is too scary! Mandate helmets and masks for all activities outside your home. Scratch that, make that inside the home as well.
