Asus boards appear to have this issue. I just came across a $240 7600x/Asus ROG b650e-e used deal. I noticed in my he bios the 7600x getting into the 65c range. I saw the 1.440v on the cpu and thought “that’s not right”. I simply used curve optimizer negative 30 which allows for the voltage to still reduce into the .8 range under lite load and peaks now at 1.28v. To me it seems CO negative 15,20,25 or 30 is a better way to reduce voltage. My three x670 Gigabyte Aorus Elite AX boards do not have the same issue. Asus even with the latest bios defaults very high Vcore.
I also have a separate negative vcore offset as well and it doesn’t go over 1.2v and has been stable. Maybe it’s a faulty board but it works fine even though I manually lower the voltage out of concern for the longevity. Idle in bios at 65c with a basic stealth cooler was nuts.
My 5600G that I OCed at 4.6GHz all core at 1.35V runs cooler than at stock with default settings, consumes less power and yet gives me better performance
It's total nonsense that you need to upgrade your 1700X. I tried these settings to cool the CPU. Went down to 1.2375V. Clock speed while gaming Atomic Heart 1440P Atomic settings was as high as 3778MHz Temp was 62.3 air cooled. FPS Avg was 157fps with a RX 6800. I tried other games too. Clock speed in most games was pretty much locked on most cores at 3502MHz but some cores went higher. I could probably manually clock it and keep it higher. The only AAA titles where you might run into low fps is Starfield and CP2077 from what I've seen. That looks like a game problem not your hardware problem to me. These two games are poorly optimized is what it is. Fortunately I got Starfield Premium ($100) for free with my GPU and I waited to buy CP2077 on sale. Can I use this trick on bios and using ryzen master with auto oc and all core as well? Could I made a conflict between ryzen master app and Mobo using this method?
I took my Ryzen 3600 down to 1.28 and can run a stable 4200Mhz, temps are still high and they do reach 90 under heavy load but I don't want to go any lower.
The 5800x3d is a little more locked down, but you can still use PBO curve optimizer, which does something similar but better. Update you bios to the latest version, get into the bios and somewhere in your over clock settings (it's a little different for each mobo manufacturer) find "Percision Boost Over drive" menu, then click the drop down for curve optimizer, choose all cores. Negative, and then 30. What this will do is lower the voltage at each boost stage (similar to applying the voltage offset) but still allow PBO to boost the cpu. This will have your 5800x3d run at a lower temp while maintaining its boost clock!
how is that voltage possible on a 5 nm CPU? I didn't run that high voltage on an FX series with a 32 nm die. my 7800 X 3-D voltage is at 0.9 and it still hits T-junction.
My ryzen 5600x temp drop from 85 to 79 max. I only use curve Optimizer (-15) and leave the vcore voltage at auto. Pbo disable. I have done so many tests, and I am pretty sure that the system need to rise voltage from 0.9 to 1.4 in order to process some heavy tasks Using minus curve will give all your cpu cores a bit of time to relax and lower the cpu temp. You are correct, what it say in the bios isn't what you always get with a load on. Different motherboards also handle voltage Differently. I have seen as high as 1.45 in windows. But the voltage offset will actually apply to what ever voltage your motherboard is currently applying. So your 1.272 would become 1.222 and that would lower temps. But your mobo doesn't seem to add alot of voltage but I would be interested to see if it drops your temps any

Ya your good to go then
Bro ive hot same cooler good thermal paste and the same cpu and in cinebench ive got 80
I haven't see it go pass 65 yet.@@Grzanka705
I've got a 360 Corsair H150i Elite Capellix. But before undervolting, even a moderate load (Microsoft Office + Affinity Designer) sent CPU peak temp to 72 C.
what motherboard do you use ?
Dear me 😂🤦♂️
I see the option however i cant toggle it?
Are you on an asus motherboard?
R 7 5800x?
Yes
@@TrueNerds some people change clock speed to 4.5Ghz and voltage to 1.15 (on the same proc) will it be fine?
I have 5800x What is setting ?
Start with a static voltage of 1.35 or a offset of negative 0.05
Can you go back to auto after changing it to 1.35?
yea
so i have 7700x and it was idle working on 45-55c but after 23.7.2 update the idle temperatures are 85-90c wtf!
when u went to the older version did it fix it ?
@@yungsneezy20 nah actually my fan stopped working on cpu cooler for some reason works fine now tho... I'm guessing it was maybe some drivers or something because i had to also reinstall win for some reason it got corrupted no clue what was wrong there but i updated from 10 to 11...
My idle temp is always 85-90. Then 70s to 95 in game on all low performance
@@MylesNelson How is your idle temp higher than gaming
@@TheZerosdyou're game ever crash black screen and blue I'm having that now with my ryzen 7 5800x
ryzen 5 3600?
Did u solve it?
Try offset mode, negative 0.05
@@TrueNerds no offset mode option
Start at 1.35v and run tests and then try 1.30, if that works you can try 1.275 but that's starting to push it.
I did it with my ryzen 7 5700x, now I can run it with 4700Mhz and pbo in motherboard mode with offset at -0.0625v
Cinebench r23 does 15650 points approx with 74ºc. I have a Deepcool AG620 BK.
My pc dont starts why?
Im in the same boat as you my brother
Reset motherboard
Does it power on and show lights at least?
For Ryzen 9 3900x I got 50 Celsius idle and it’s at 1.5v
How much should I undervolt? Any suggestions please
Thank you
Try same as this guy said, 1.35 and then lower the voltage until you start seeing crashes/instabilities
Note that the 1.45 voltage set in the bios doesn't nesisarrily mean your cpus running at that voltage. Run cpuz and something like furmarks cpu burner or cinebench to see what you actual voltage is running at. My 5600x ran at 1.272 max while the bios was set to 1.4 so a 0.050 would've done nothing for the cpu.
But your mobo doesn't seem to add alot of voltage but I would be interested to see if it drops your temps any
Bro i have same cpu, with pbo i get high temperature (70°) with (70w or high)and low score in every benchmarks like 3d mark/cimebench and other, i set manual voltage to default 1,3v to manual 1,188v and 4500mhz and i get 50/55w max and 60°/62° max in benchmark and high scores than pbo like 500/1000 plus
Dont work .... 80° scoor multcore 7.340 , result befor i change voltage 14.900
It didnt work for me well ty amd for convicing me to switch to intel
