Thanks for this video. Can you adjust the panning for tension? I've bought some travel video heads where you can only adjust up and down and the panning has no tension (just a lock) to smooth out movements.
Hi! Nah, it’s only like a lock/unlock type of mechanism. There’s only a fluid pressure system for the up and down movement. I believe all of these smaller, lighter tripods only have it like that. If you want control over panning tension you’ll need a larger fluid head, and a heavier duty tripod. Smallrig has a nice one: AD100 Freeblazer. And I think Ulanzi also launched one recently… might be worth a shot.
thank you for responding - as I thought :( The newer Ulanzi TT09 VideoGo Carbon Fiber Travel Video Tripod has this functionality as the fluid head sits on top of a ball-head but unfortunately it's significantly shorter than older models@@coppensbram
@Stash_Studio actually I have that one too - I did a video for Ulanzi last year when they launched it. Yes - that one will allow vertical shooting. Do you need the fluid head for vertical shots? If not, maybe better to get a “regular” head - highly recommend the Ulanzi Zero-F38. You can always switch out the center column (they sell a separate piece) and add on a fluid head when you need it. Best of both worlds :-)
@@coppensbram yes I tend to shoot much more vertical content. I’ve actually got the f38 with the additional fluid head in my cart on the Ulanzi website but I really wanted to avoid travelling with 2 heads/columns/ or adding an additional base-plate to the side of the rig. If only the latest model was 20cm taller 🥲
@Stash_Studio ahhh yeah I see. It’s always a balancing act and tough choices to make 😬 I think Ulanzi is coming out with a more heavy duty video tripod soon. Maybe that has all the features you need? But it won’t be as travel friendly probably…
Thanks! 😃 Hmmm if you need a tripod for photography, I’d actually recommend Ulanzi Zero-Y or Zero-F38. The first is standard arca Swiss and the second has f38 quick release. This is rage one I use for photography 😊 Here’s a link: www.ulanzi.com/products/ulanzi-f38-quick-release-travel-tripod-3131 Hope this helps!
It’s been great! I’ve used it with cameras and small lights too. The fluid head works nice for video, I use it in most of my videos now 😀 You just have to decide if you want this type of locking system (twist knobs), or something more like a switch. I also got the Ulanzi Zero F38 tripod with their mini fluid head, with switches. Great option too! www.ulanzi.com/products/ulanzi-f38-quick-release-travel-tripod-3131
Hi 👋 No, unfortunately that won’t work… you’ll need a F38 base plate on the camera. Ulanzi does have other tripods that work with Arca Swiss though! Take a look at the Zero-Y (my favorite) or TT-09 (video tripod).
@@coppensbram unfortunately I ordered the f38 tripod before checking 😔. So I won't be able to do vertical pano photos with my camera as the L bracket is arca I think... 🤔
@@coppensbram I guess that's what I am going to do 😀. I just say the tripod looks really cool and lightweight. Looking forward to bringing it with me toJapan and Bali!
the best video about this tripod, all the others just comment about it but this one explains how to use it perfectly! thank you man!
Thanks bro 👊 glad you found it useful!
My thoughts exactly! Very impressed by the presentation and pacing. Keep it up!

@@coppensbram Thanks man, appreciate the info :)
Can this tripod switch to a vertical mode?
No it won’t - you’ll have to use an L-bracket or cage on the camera. This is usually the case for tripods with fluid heads. Hope this helps 😊

Nice detailed video👍
Looking to change the ball head. Could you please suggest which one will be good for photography 😊
Thanks! 😃

@@coppensbram thank you for suggesting 😊 but I already bought this Ulanzi travel video tripod.
That’s why looking for ball head.
Can you swap the ball head to something that has the vertical/portrait camera mode that their other tripods have?
You can take off the ball head entirely! Everything with a 1/4” or 3/4” should fit 😊
Do you have a link to the one you want to swap to?
Looks very interesting. How is the reliability now that you had it for a month or so? Thank you. I’m in the market for a new one.

This video took a lot of work to edit! nice work. At least 1000 people search for this or found it useful, yet only 31 likes?
Thanks! 👊 I have a lot of fun editing these videos 😉 It’s not about the numbers hehe
Can you remove the handle which attaches to the tripod head ?
Just checked it for you! You can easily remove it complete, using the same knob for adjusting it 😊 Hope this helps!
@@coppensbram thank you very much !
Very welcome!
Hi! So the f38 baseplate can attach to arca Swiss stuff. How about arca Swiss baseplates? Do they attach to the F38 Tripod? Thank you

Ahhh ok… But maybe you could just get an additional base plate f38, and attach that to your L-bracket and just leave it on?
