Perfect video. Perfect story. Perfect amount of time. Perfect characters interviewed. Jack is a phenomenal host.
Thank you!
It's nice to see a friendly reminder that there are some great people who do work for the NYC government
man, i cant express how cool these videos are. jack and the whole PONYC team seem super genuine.
Thank you!!!
Love that the interviewees are given their own microphone. Nice work on this, great watch.
Thanks!
I’ve only ever seen your shorts asking street trivia but I am absolutely in love with the longer form videos that really explores NYC little known things. I hope you guys do more stuff like this not even just with government but landmarks & such. Show the people the move the gears behind NYC!
Thank you!
311 sounds amazing. I tried to reach out to my city’s government about an issue in my neighborhood and got ping ponged so hard by people telling me that issue was handled by another agency until I eventually gave up
It’s amazing how much grief NYC gets online (via rhetoric), but this shows the real story. I unfortunately live in an anti-government city/county/state and around here, people literally fix their own residential street potholes because it takes the city months if not years. 1/3 of our city didn’t even have paved roads until around three years ago even though we have a population greater than 120,000 people.
“Yes, they’re awesome”
Public service is underrated
Loved this one - thanks Jack and the team! 2 days to fill a pothole is amazing!
Thank you!
Ha! I called 311 earlier today. I figure you can't fix what you don't know, so I let them know.
There we go!
Wow really appreciated this video. Good storytelling and loved this peak into behind the scenes of nyc government. Deserves more views but I hope you are able to continue making videos like this!
🙏🙏🙏
These are really great videos. Like PBS but short.
Thank you!
Another FASCINATING video Public Opinion! You take me directly to places and people responsible for making NYC the greatest city in the world. Loved learning from Evette how the 311 call center works, what kinds of calls come in, and seeing the DOT guys repair the pothole that you called in. Keep 'em coming!
Thank you!!!
Mad respect to the 311 call center and the pothole crew.
He literally did it.
He investigated Three Eleven.
She was so pleasant. Nothing worse than calling for help and getting a grumpy guss
Honestly this was one of the best episodes so far! Great work! Putting a face to the people behind it all ❤
Oh my word, Yvette is an absolute gem!
Yvette has the perfect phone voice.
LOVE THIS… and the people at 311 and DOT! Keep up the great work Public Opinion.👍👏
typical Public Opinion banger.
Thank you!
This seems like a really great initiative, I'd love to see it deployed in more places!
fun and informative. really enjoyed this
Love these. Shout out to all people making the city a better place to live.
great video highlighting everyday good people. I love New York!
This guy deserves more subscribers. Thanks from NZ
Great video. Loved it!
As a New Yorker, I have to agree that our city hones us into being capable of making it anywhere. I travel all over the planet and I never feel out of sorts, whether in the Amazon jungle, the lochs of Scotland or the South-East cities of Australia. NYC can be rough, yes, but it has surely readied me for anything. No matter how unexpected, nothing else feels quite a daunting as a regular Friday in NYC 😂.
This is awesome - well done!! Shoutout 311.
I thought u were just a gimmicky tik toker but this was very well done, good effort and journalism, please keep it up.
OMG that UFO one was so funny.
Great video!
Keep it up boys - loved this one
311, and the transfer to DOT that ensued, has never dealt with traffic signals when I've reported them broken. they've sometimes worked to make department of sanitation pick up trash that they were too lazy to deal with when they were supposed to. they're like a 60% - 70% effective help line.
Awesome videos guys. Came here from Tiktok. I just like you guys next ask bits about community based citizen live in the NYC. Cool thanks
Thanks youtube shorts! This is amazing
Thank you!
This is such a cute video. I need this kind of mood in my life. Happy to see positive work and attitude of the gov workers, which are usually hindered.
this channel is showing how new York really is how it work and how the people are the really people who live and stay in the city
Love NYC from Philly
Wow best video yet
I wish my city had such a service!!
Hey my dudes, I think it would be cool to see stories from New York streets just people willing to tell you a story about their lives how they ended up in New York how they’re currently doing how they’ve overcome certain struggles, etc. the whole point of your show is people of New York, love the people of New York, so let’s get to know the stories
Well that was just perfection.
New York babayyy
Ayyy
🤗
Maybe, if they would repair the pothole correctly, instead of just putting a little asphalt on it, they wouldnt have to "repair" 185000 of them every year.
With that manpower they show up to just fill up a pothole, they repair the pothole here in Germany, meaning they cut out the damaged part of the road and fix the foundation too. To just fill up a pothole they come with one car and 2 men and surely dont close the road for a day.
Im IN LOVE with that lady
Enjoyable video :) thank you
What?!! CALL IN POTHOLES?!?!
Wasn’t this guy in a lot of Casey neistat videos?
Yes
Jack you’ve come a long way since I saw you first with Casey. How long has it been since then? 10 years?
Amazing
i love my city and i love 311!
i just wish they were better at forcing the NYPD to persecute obscured licenses and NYPD vehicles blocking bike lanes and sidewalks
wait you worked with casey back in the day?
Yes
@@publicopinionnyc thought i recognized you! love what you're doing on this channel
Hopefully this doesn’t bring any negative attention to 311. I would hate for the workers to have to deal with more BS because of idiots on the Internet.
311 is useless called over 3 years about loud music from loud speakers from the local park nothing was ever done. Nice infomercial though did Steven Spielberg direct this with a Hollywood screenplay because this seems like fantasy and sci-fi.
The fact that you think they have the power to change says a lot about you.
They treat every call as if you are a five-year-old calling for the first time.
No, I don't want to listen to two minutes of unskippable recordings and then have an operator read five paragraphs of lawyer vomit. I just want you to take down the problem details. A 30-second call takes five minutes.
