Thea are so modest, so humble, w/o any big scandal over all these years - so different form other rock bands. I think thats the secret of their success, of their endless inspiration. I love them and their music. Saw them last year in Germany Open Air in Mosabch, will see them again in June. Great band which accompanies nearly my whole life.
Gillan is dead on about the human chemistry, I'm one who likes all the DP line ups for what they are, but when they hooked Morse you could tell it was right, they click on stage, same with Airey when Lord retired (RIP), Don is also the right person, it clicks, love seeing them play because they love being together and have fun, it's very positive and refreshing and the music reflects that. Many bands don't have this or have it for long so cheers to them.
Spot on. I recommend to watch "From here to inFinite" documentary (in some editions of the record) - there are some stories and recordings from the studio. They are just 5 brilliant musicians and friends and they have so much fun playing together. You can see the chemistry when they're trading licks and phrases, it's just beautiful.

This is the best thing to come out of not just Purple, but rock and especially prog in the last ten years. Instant DP classic album.
