Many discus throwers and rotational shot putters have a tendency to start this "up and down" motion in the back of the circle. Unfortunately what starts to happen is the athlete never gets low enough and starts to stand up too early. Sound like you? Watch the video to check out a cool drill that will keep you lower in the back.

Just wanted you to know, Coach, that your training points have contributed more to my learning than
any other. I just started to training several months ago. Never through discus
before, and I have reviewed probably 40 videos. There are some good ones for sure, but your methods have creeped into my throwing
more than any other. Thank you, Coach!
    Craig

Thanks Craig. I appreciate you saying that. I never thought a channel I created to advertise a one day shot put clinic 11 years ago would end up like this. Thanks for the support and the message.

This drill paid off right away for one of throwers. She made finals in the discus for the first time ever on Friday. Last year I couldn't make her understand how to drive and get that turn. Stayed low drove over the hurdle. Thanks!

This is great, thank you so much for an original idea, I get so tired of trying t work the same drills and expecting a different result, to progress an athlete needs to work on simple mechanics and address specific issues, this is it for me, getting to the no support position.

Whenever i try to stay low out of the back i feel like as i begin to drive towards the front off of my left foot, it slips and i end up way too heavy on mu right foot snd instead of being low and powerful, i feel bent and off balance. Any tips would be helpful.
