I have to say Freddie, you’re always such a positive guy. If ever there was a ‘glass is half empty’ moment , it must have been when you first checked out that room! However you, as usual made the glass half full. Well done you. Looking forward to sharing your adventure.

Agreed on hard panniers, my Rocket Touring has them, and I managed to get custom sewn pannier liners for them made by a company that has since gone out of business. Superb when traveling, just grab the bags out of the panniers where they've been bone dry and safe and carry them into a hotel or whatever. And on the road, I have one unzipped and toss in the odds and ends I don't want to have on my person (like the wallet, etc) when on the road.

Great pubs but apart from that, as far as I'm concerned, the best part of Scotland were two signs, the first was "The South" and the second was "Departures". Only an a couple of occasions in all that time was the weather ok.
From experience, if you visit any bar or pub when England are playing (any sport at all) you'll find out what the Scots think of the English.

That is a typical flat. My parents had similar when I was born in Glasgow.
I lived in Edinburgh for a few years. Those panels at the side often open to give access to the sash system and there is usually a sset of hooks so you can hang the sash window and hinge in for cleaning. My sister had a similar one in Leith but that was before parts of Leith were being gentrified. It was rough as f in the 80s.
The East coast is usually mild for midges. Wait until you get to the west😂. Try and aee if you can find a midge eating machine. Some campsites use them. You will be amazed at how many it gets in a day. Good bird food.
I can handle anything but midges are mental. Even if you dont get bitten, they are so annoying. Camping uo the hills from June to September can be challenging because of them😅

@@neilurquhart8622 Vfr are great bikes , the gear driven cams took away the cam chain tensioner problem.

Great video as always, Monica's a star.
Triumph parts available, what a nightmare.
If you think England's bad for quick supple you ought to try the South of France, currently waiting for recovery back to the UK because I've been quoted 2 weeks for a chain to fit my Triumph. Even aftermarket suppliers 5 days. I would have been better breaking the chain in North Africa 😢

Any parts I’ve bought were made in Thailand so maybe that’s the issue.

This is insanity!!!😳 I don’t know what’s going on with all of these parts issues?!?
I’m very sorry to hear this. My bike’s parts still haven’t arrived either😳

@FreddieDobbs I've been recovered to Normandy and will be getting the ferry tomorrow without the bike.
I'm back in France next week and I'm hoping I can get the chain in the UK and bring it back with me to repair the bike.
We ride down to the Wheels and Waves festival in Biarritz but never hot to the show due to breaking down.
      Hey ho such is life.
