Nobody does a motorcycle lifestyle vlog like Freddie and Monika. Many have tried i have noticed.. Great work
Ahm true, but Ducati NYC also does such a similar thing, albeit based out of NYC (US) and is totally Ducati Monster focussed, which btw isn’t a bad thing 😁
I had to do a double take when I saw your title. I grew up in Ightham, and even worked as a kitchen porter in the George and Dragon around 15 years ago. It was utterly surreal to watch you ride through roads I once knew so well.
As other have mentioned it is pronounced "eye tam", but my my Freddie you do have quite a talent for finding the hidden gems no one else seems to know about.
Never would have thought I'd ever see one of my fav youtubers in my old little unknown village.
@@toomuchjamlovely part of the world! was interesting to see nothing has changed at all on the outside in the village, but inside the G&D has had a face lift.
Thank you for mentioning the correct pronunciation of Ightham... as a kent lad there are so many villages that are pronounced as they are spelt. (It let's us kentish men or men of kent know who the strangers are).. just waiting for Freddie to visit Teston and Trotticliffe)
Yes that will be fun!! @@QuikyTortoise
I simply cannot understand why Freddie hasn't got a million subs at least, no one combines motorcycling with interesting travel stuff better Happy New year to you both!
He might be close in a couple of years, maybe less with these quality videos
Wait til the TV people come a calling
Royal Enfield should let you keep the Super Meteor 😊
Happy New Year Freddie and Monica, yet another great wee video. As a now ex Kentish Man, I can confirm that Ightham is pronouced in Kent as (I-tam or item). Another great filmic place to visit in Kent is Chiddingstone, if you do go ask at the pub or tea room directions to the Chiddingstone which is a short walk around the back of the village. This village is used by TV and film companies for period filming, so you wont be disappointed. ATB Big Dave Scotland
Living in Canada everything is so new and square and kind of Boring. I miss the English Countryside so much. The old churches and graveyards, one can get lost for hours wondering around and reading things. Being an ex British infantry soldier, last I was in York I took my wife to see York Minster. We sat in our old regimental Chappell in there where the regimental colours from the Queen were hanging proudly, because the 1PWO has been disbanded. My wife who is Canadian was extremely moved by the history in the Minster. She spent the whole day in there walking around. Thanks for the day out you guys 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Well done Graham that was a great recommendation. What a beautiful pub & village. This country has so much history on our doorstep that you can take it for granted. Nicely filmed too!❤️❤️
Hi Freddie. My wife and I know that area very well. It’s actually pronounced “Eye tam”.
What?? Freddie pronounces something wrong? Surely not!😂😂
Thanks for this Stuart. This has blown my mind- I’ve been pronouncing it wrong for eight years!
@@FreddieDobbs it seems like every other video people are telling you how to pronounce things. The way Himalayan is supposed to be pronounced is the one that got me.
I prefer Freddie’s pronunciation. Eye- Tam doesn’t seem to suit it, good info though thanks.
‘Trottiscliffe’ next up!
A video from Freddie is always a blessing in these troubling times. I wish you guys all the best for 2024 and hope we will see the exact same content over and over again! Love it!
Always nice to watch your videos. You are blessed with a beautiful country for motorcycling.
I dare say, people in the colonies (Seattle Washington in my case) whether motorcyclists or not, see this when dreaming of what an English village should look/feel like. It’s a post card vision. How fortunate you and your countrymen are to have such physical history to enjoy. It gives me pause to recognize the richness lost to steel and glass buildings being built today.
Fabulous video.
Thanks for taking us along your motorbike rides through the beautiful UK.
Greetings from Portugal
You both give such a great impression of Englands countryside which is not really well known in Germany.
Also the choosen color presets as well the music selection fits perfect to your story telling.
Keep on going.
Oliver (Cologne- Germany)
Thanks freddie I was having a stressful afternoon sat down watched this feeling a lot better.
I totally understand your Ocado story.when I retired from the Fire Service, just as the pandemic madness started, I stumbled into the same Job for Sainsbury's. I knew I'd have gone crazy locking down. It saved my sanity as most of my runs are in beautiful costal countryside on the Ards Peninsula. Despite not needing to work any more, I still do it 20 hrs a week.
I live in Kent and the county is packed full of villages like Ightham ´Eyetam’ as locals pronounce it! They all have amazing pubs and the tiny lanes are endless. Small capacity retro bikes are perfect for exploring Kent. However I’d love to know how you got from Ipswich to Kent without motorways and the worst, most dangerous traffic in the UK. Sometimes it can feel like we’re trapped in Kent. Much easier to take the tunnel to the continent than the rest of the UK.
Thanks once again Freddie and Monika. Every time you post a video from one of the many historic and beautiful villages/towns in England, I’m envious. It would be impossible for me to find a comparable riding destination even 200 years old in this country (🇨🇦). A real treat to watch you both . Cheers and ride safe, Dan. ✌️🏍
Never commented before but I thought I would mention I love sitting down at the end of the day throwing the wood burner on and just relaxing to watch one of your RUclips videos , something relaxing and good informative to watch . Bravo as they say 😁
Lovely little village you have visited there, and Monica seemed to have a bad day with phones and chairs breaking.
Was good to meet you today in Canary Wharf and have a chat. Looking forward to the upcoming vlogs.
Rob
It's around 50 years since I had a pint in that pub. It was more rustic then with more locals in the bar. Still nice and still has some character. It's a lovely village. Picture of the 1100 with the bonnet up probably means he got caught in the floods which you can see in the back ground. Flooding still a problem!
Happy new year Freddie and Monica, it is a nice village and the Mote is worth a visit. Generally it is pronounced It'm like light without the L.
Happy New Year, Tristan! I’ll remember this pronunciation, thank you🙌🏻
Yes we have a few weird pronunciations in Kent Meopham (mep'm) wrotham (root'm) and a weird one Trotticliffe is actually pronuonced trossly @@FreddieDobbs
Love these random little village videos. I really need to come to the UK and visit some of these spots.
I was never a big fan of the cruiser style of bike, but I gotta say, I'm really liking the look of the Super Meteor. I grew up in that area of Kent..... Sevenoaks, Brands Hatch, etc. Keep up the great videos F and M.
Lovely squirel on the minute 3:03!
They do a great Sunday lunch there, we love that pub. Another good pub is the Wiremill Inn down the A22. Old pub, old Ales, good food, its on a lake and off the beaten track.
Yip the roads looked in better conditions back then, great video
What a charming vlog, absolutely delightful!
You encapsulate the essence of a motorcycle adventure - exploring, drinking in the environs, letting the beauty seep in, to live the experience...
The videography is utterly captivating, so cinematographic and alive that the viewer becomes a participant.
I must also commend the choice of your visits, your emphasis on local culture and aesthetic.
Best wishes
Great video, good to see Ightam on screen. For a coffee lover who likes lovely old Kent towns I recommend Hythe, down near Folkestone, great seafood cafe The Lazy Shack on the beach there, very good coffee. Thanks and cheers.
What a beautiful looking village. Shame about the rain, but it is January in England!
Very interesting. My wife and I ran this place for 6 months in the early nineties before it was bought (and ruined) by Shep Neame . Had some great friends and memories. There were dozens of hidden away pubs nearby at the time. Many closed now I guess.
Hi Freddie, great to see you taking my advice to go to The George and Dragon but I’m so sorry that I didn’t tell you how to pronounce Ightham!
Graham! Great to hear from you🙂
I cannot believe how badly I’ve been pronouncing Ightham🤯
Absolutely no need to apologise- you were spot on with the recommendation- we loved it!
My freddie fix. I still don't know how some guy, his girl and broken bike have become my must watch episodes on utube..
Beautiful village. I often visit Ightham Mote on my scooter with my son. Lovely house and grounds to walk around. Roll on spring😊
Absolutely beautiful. I used to live in Cheam.
Happy New Year from Arizona, USA 👋
I’m thrilled to see his updates. Delayed my coffee to drink while I watch episode 😊
It’s very interesting when you can read the history of a place and what went on there , and tree lined lanes are the best for motorcyclists.
Awesome old pub, church, and village! Love these scenic little towns👍
Lovely morning, thanks for sharing. When you get a moment check out Wedding Cake Island by Midnight Oil.
The musical interludes are wonderful. They have a Detectorists feel.
Good luck next time Guy Fawkes!
Apart from riding me BMW 800 around your old stamping ground of Suffolk l also had many happy days riding through the quite lanes/roads of Kent. Some times a ride to the south coast....Living at Southend made both areas within easy reach....Thanks for your travelogue You and Monika make a great filming team..
I love small English towns and villages. It’s like walking into a fairytale. ❤
This channel is criminally under-subscribed. Tell your family. Tell your friends. Tell your local tourism bureau. Tell every motorcycle and car manufacturer. Tell total and complete strangers. Mention it at the pub. Tell your council. Tell the world. Because no one in our mad world will regret watching this wonderful channel.
Thank you so much, Freddie and Monika, for sharing this with us. I love your videos because of all such simple and beautiful things ❤
Great blog Freedie and Monica, I don't live that far from Ightham, in a place Called Meopham, that's another village that is pronounced different from the way it's spelt.
Really like that Super Meteor - and nothing like a trip to an English pub
the sound of the spitfire going over head when you were parked talking about your old driving job 😉true Kent
Brilliant Freddie, you're so good at this.
Beautiful! 👍 More of the same sort, please. 😊
Wow, we caught a rare glimpse of Monika in this video! Will we be seeing more of her this year? 🙂
Lovely to watch. Great style. (I won’t mention the pronunciation!)
Happy New Year Monica & Freddie - loved the video - thank you for all the wonderful trips.
Happy New year, Donna!
I believe that pub was originally called "Ale house " rather than "ace house", inns were all called Ale house at one point in time but as they grew more numerous they adopted the name of a famous person, usually the monarch. As people mostly could not read the inns adopted picture signs to get their massage across.
A great ride out, some history and a good pub, what more could you ask for from one of your videos. Thanks both for a lovely day out on a bike.
Freddie, you have such a beautiful way of talking about simple things that I began to long for my work in delivery when I too visited Kent, even though I had never worked in such a delivery job or gone there! That longing was greatly enhanced by the music and the atmosphere, Monika!
What a stunningly visual presentation filmed in a gorgeous location!
The beautiful Royal Enfield Super Meteor looked perfect in its surroundings on the road presenting with what looked like a lovely ride.
I think this particular Royal Enfield as an elegant cruiser parked in the garage next to a Triumph Speed Twin or T100 would be a perfect pairing for everything you would love to ride on the road!
Amazing work and effort Freddie & Monika for your beautiful visual filming framing, lovely post-production editing work & storyline. What a huge amount of time and energy you put into these wonderful stories and experiences you share with us all!!
I trust this huge commitment to resources, sacrifices, professionalism and expertise will reward you well in 2024 and beyond!
Your work is appreciated! ❤ @freddie Dobbs
Love the paint on that Meteor. May have to be my next bike.
What a beautifully shot video in a beautiful part of your country. Thank you for making motorcycle vlogs for those of who appreciate the finer things in life.
Freddie my son, your videos are like ASMR for bikers struggling through winter. excellent stuff man
I love English pubs and I have learnt to appreciate English gastronomy when I travel to London every month for my job…wish someday I could visit this lovely pub Fred, thanks for sharing mate!
PS: this is why I like a lot your channel, and which to my understanding makes I unique: it’s not only about motorbikes, but more of a lifestyle inspired in the daily life of a lovely couple…my best wishes for 2024 to Monika and you!
Fantastic video. I loved the history of the pub. Freddy you have probably been told this before but Lavenham in Suffolk is another really beautiful old town where they filmed The Witchfinder General. Also I would recommend Stockbridge in Hampshire. Very pretty and also home to the original series of Worzel Gummidge with Jon Pertwee.
Beautiful episode thanks to Freddie
Happy New Year to you too. The Super Meteor looks a great bike, but I think it looks much better in green and black. Have you ever reviewed the Kawasaki W800? I have looked but could not see and evidence that you had previously. I would very much like to hear your view on this bike.
Happy New Year, Hugh! Green and black- yesss!🖤 The W800’s always eluded me- I’m desperate to try one
Grew up in West Wickham Kent and used to go to Ightham quite a bit. Loved it there. Now live in NY and it’s just not the same as being home. Great Vlog Freddie and Monica.
A genuinely beautiful place to be in. So much charm, character and peace. Beautifully shot too.
Incredible video, stunning places and the perfect mood.
Thanks for this Freddie (and for the Meteor 350 video, bought 1 year ago thnx to you)
Absolutely fell in love with Ightham, the public house’s history is so cool and to go outside and it’s more of less the same then the church and the shields and plaques with their designs was my favorite part. I’m so chilled out now after watching that, thanks for sharing 🙂
Hi Freddie and Monica haven't even seen the video yet but saw the front introductory picture. That SUPER METEOR 650 Man sorry have to say suits you down to tee. Even better than the old bike. I know it has had its problems but remember it was almost righten off. As a supper METEOR is new and very reliable and NEW. SORRY. Thanks to the both of you for a great show and the content is always great. Next time your down in Canterbury or make a stop in Margate have a meet and great day and everyone can come and meet you and Monica and have a good day. Hopefully in the Summer and a dry day. All the very best to the both of you. Regards Martin
Well done Freddie, you avoided the obvious "Kent Countryside" slip up.
My mother in law lives in ightham its a beautiful village,i was married in the church which has two people who won the V.C mentioned on the wall.we had are wedding reception in the George & Dragon.
Makes no effort to help Monica with the chair arm - hilarious 😆
Greetings and Happy New Year from Thailand. Nice ride.
Was 30 degrees today for my ride on the Continental GT.
Stay safe.
Happy new years to you both. Looking forward to the vids of 2024.
Good video. Hopefully learnt a few things there.
might be best to go back and have a word about the chair freddie! seems like a nice and genuine pub so it'd be nice to own up to breaking it :)
Another great video. England does have some beautiful places to see albeit better in the sunshine.
Brilliant video!
You summed up Ocado CSTM working perfectly, I worked out of Hatfield, a number of years ago, so to get a 6 drop run to the likes of Ipswich or Peterborough was a rare treat, it was all North London, 2nd floor or above, no lift and lots of water... I don't miss those days 😆
Another good video Sir.
Loved the church visit🏍🏍🏍
New year is off to a cozy & comfy start ❤
Great to watch your video, Lovely music, and so funny with Monica and the chair situation. Love the Royal Enfield.
I am about to buy my first motorcycle here in the USA and the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is my top choice. Loved your video on it and love the channel!!
Something very soothing about the video....
Happy New Year!!! You should publish a guide for motorcyclists gathering all such great places!
3:00 a squirrel hehe :)
Beautifully filmed and musically married. So soothing. Watching form the riders cockpit pov, I think the dashboard looks awful compared to say a triumph twin clocks. It’s a deal clincher for me. I think they could do with some copying on that front. Out of allthe RE, the meteor is the most attractive to me. Everytime u publish IAM looking for some bonny clickbait😂
Thoroughly enjoyed your latest video Freddie.
Thank you
Wishing you and Monica a very Happy new year!
My wife and I Love the Channel , so different to anyone else
Can’t wait to see what you get up to in 2024!
My wife loves Chanel too, but I can't afford it!
This was exactly the kind of video I watch your channel for! Scenery Completely different to where I live. Perfect.
Hi again Freddie. What a beautiful vlog. That’s going on the list.
We’re only over in Sussex so a great ride out.
I always learn something from your videos. I never thought about it but when you were talking about pub signs, of course I never thought about so many people being not able to read used the pictures and, marketing still in those days progressed 😂
Hi Freddie. How can life get better.
A super meteor and such beautiful countryside and the ride. You’ve achieved eutopia.
Functional back mudguard which also looks good. Lovely village. Nick
What a lovely ride mate, but 11C is not to cold? :) I am watching what you wear, and I am freezing cold on that temperature, I have like underpants, full jacket, baklava, wool pullover etc.. :) :)
I found that my lowest temperature is 10C for a ride, but a short city ride, nothing like this.
Sooo. In deep love with ur vedios man , the whole vibe gets on diff level
There is no way I have the same kind of job you had. I always dread finding out what my route is as well😅
I like you even more now😂
Happy new year both of you!!Love your videos….Enjoy them every time they come available. Looking forward to see how your Bonnie is getting on. You gave all of us great viewing all year round with amazing editing thanks to Monika!! Cheers Freddie. You keep us all entertained, you are you and that’s what bring us back to this channel. Brilliant!!
Quality video AGAIN Freddie. Happy New Year to you both. Best wishes from Limerick,Ireland
Conor
Thanks
Happy New Year !
Its pronounced eye-tum
What a beautiful spot, there is so many in Kent
