Ahm true, but Ducati NYC also does such a similar thing, albeit based out of NYC (US) and is totally Ducati Monster focussed, which btw isn’t a bad thing 😁
I had to do a double take when I saw your title. I grew up in Ightham, and even worked as a kitchen porter in the George and Dragon around 15 years ago. It was utterly surreal to watch you ride through roads I once knew so well. As other have mentioned it is pronounced "eye tam", but my my Freddie you do have quite a talent for finding the hidden gems no one else seems to know about. Never would have thought I'd ever see one of my fav youtubers in my old little unknown village.
@@toomuchjamlovely part of the world! was interesting to see nothing has changed at all on the outside in the village, but inside the G&D has had a face lift.
Thank you for mentioning the correct pronunciation of Ightham... as a kent lad there are so many villages that are pronounced as they are spelt. (It let's us kentish men or men of kent know who the strangers are).. just waiting for Freddie to visit Teston and Trotticliffe)
I simply cannot understand why Freddie hasn't got a million subs at least, no one combines motorcycling with interesting travel stuff better Happy New year to you both!
Happy New Year Freddie and Monica, yet another great wee video. As a now ex Kentish Man, I can confirm that Ightham is pronouced in Kent as (I-tam or item). Another great filmic place to visit in Kent is Chiddingstone, if you do go ask at the pub or tea room directions to the Chiddingstone which is a short walk around the back of the village. This village is used by TV and film companies for period filming, so you wont be disappointed. ATB Big Dave Scotland
Well done Graham that was a great recommendation. What a beautiful pub & village. This country has so much history on our doorstep that you can take it for granted. Nicely filmed too!❤️❤️
Living in Canada everything is so new and square and kind of Boring. I miss the English Countryside so much. The old churches and graveyards, one can get lost for hours wondering around and reading things. Being an ex British infantry soldier, last I was in York I took my wife to see York Minster. We sat in our old regimental Chappell in there where the regimental colours from the Queen were hanging proudly, because the 1PWO has been disbanded. My wife who is Canadian was extremely moved by the history in the Minster. She spent the whole day in there walking around. Thanks for the day out you guys 🙏🙏🙏🙏
A video from Freddie is always a blessing in these troubling times. I wish you guys all the best for 2024 and hope we will see the exact same content over and over again! Love it!
You both give such a great impression of Englands countryside which is not really well known in Germany. Also the choosen color presets as well the music selection fits perfect to your story telling. Keep on going. Oliver (Cologne- Germany)
I dare say, people in the colonies (Seattle Washington in my case) whether motorcyclists or not, see this when dreaming of what an English village should look/feel like. It’s a post card vision. How fortunate you and your countrymen are to have such physical history to enjoy. It gives me pause to recognize the richness lost to steel and glass buildings being built today.
@@FreddieDobbs it seems like every other video people are telling you how to pronounce things. The way Himalayan is supposed to be pronounced is the one that got me.
Never commented before but I thought I would mention I love sitting down at the end of the day throwing the wood burner on and just relaxing to watch one of your RUclips videos , something relaxing and good informative to watch . Bravo as they say 😁
I totally understand your Ocado story.when I retired from the Fire Service, just as the pandemic madness started, I stumbled into the same Job for Sainsbury's. I knew I'd have gone crazy locking down. It saved my sanity as most of my runs are in beautiful costal countryside on the Ards Peninsula. Despite not needing to work any more, I still do it 20 hrs a week.
Lovely little village you have visited there, and Monica seemed to have a bad day with phones and chairs breaking. Was good to meet you today in Canary Wharf and have a chat. Looking forward to the upcoming vlogs. Rob
I live in Kent and the county is packed full of villages like Ightham ´Eyetam’ as locals pronounce it! They all have amazing pubs and the tiny lanes are endless. Small capacity retro bikes are perfect for exploring Kent. However I’d love to know how you got from Ipswich to Kent without motorways and the worst, most dangerous traffic in the UK. Sometimes it can feel like we’re trapped in Kent. Much easier to take the tunnel to the continent than the rest of the UK.
Thanks once again Freddie and Monika. Every time you post a video from one of the many historic and beautiful villages/towns in England, I’m envious. It would be impossible for me to find a comparable riding destination even 200 years old in this country (🇨🇦). A real treat to watch you both . Cheers and ride safe, Dan. ✌️🏍
It's around 50 years since I had a pint in that pub. It was more rustic then with more locals in the bar. Still nice and still has some character. It's a lovely village. Picture of the 1100 with the bonnet up probably means he got caught in the floods which you can see in the back ground. Flooding still a problem!
What a charming vlog, absolutely delightful! You encapsulate the essence of a motorcycle adventure - exploring, drinking in the environs, letting the beauty seep in, to live the experience... The videography is utterly captivating, so cinematographic and alive that the viewer becomes a participant. I must also commend the choice of your visits, your emphasis on local culture and aesthetic. Best wishes

They do a great Sunday lunch there, we love that pub. Another good pub is the Wiremill Inn down the A22. Old pub, old Ales, good food, its on a lake and off the beaten track.
What a stunningly visual presentation filmed in a gorgeous location! The beautiful Royal Enfield Super Meteor looked perfect in its surroundings on the road presenting with what looked like a lovely ride. I think this particular Royal Enfield as an elegant cruiser parked in the garage next to a Triumph Speed Twin or T100 would be a perfect pairing for everything you would love to ride on the road! Very interesting. My wife and I ran this place for 6 months in the early nineties before it was bought (and ruined) by Shep Neame . Had some great friends and memories. There were dozens of hidden away pubs nearby at the time. Many closed now I guess.
Freddie, you have such a beautiful way of talking about simple things that I began to long for my work in delivery when I too visited Kent, even though I had never worked in such a delivery job or gone there! That longing was greatly enhanced by the music and the atmosphere, Monika!

I believe that pub was originally called "Ale house " rather than "ace house", inns were all called Ale house at one point in time but as they grew more numerous they adopted the name of a famous person, usually the monarch. As people mostly could not read the inns adopted picture signs to get their massage across.

Fantastic video. I loved the history of the pub. Freddy you have probably been told this before but Lavenham in Suffolk is another really beautiful old town where they filmed The Witchfinder General.
