Respect. I had someone I worked with once tell me after several political conversations we had that he didn't agree with anything I said but that he appreciated the conversations because I made what he considered to be logical arguments and I never tried to over talk him. After watching this vid I now realize that he was a gentleman and I was on my way. Also, "Principles" is a great read.
We shouldn't get confused with a gentleman and a nice guy. It's easy to be the 'nice' guy but being a gentleman takes effort in self development that comes with time. Thank you Alux
There’s nothing more appealing than a man of good character. That will never go away. It’s classic. They know their behavior can ruin their happiness or enhance it.
Respect. I personally think that we have lost the meaning of being a gentleman in our culture because we value winning at all costs over anything else. In our hyper competitive society, we are raised in a very binary manner. We’re either winners or losers. Winners supposedly reap the rewards. It is this mindset that makes us completely write off and even hate those who disagree with us. If I have the choice of being right or being kind, I’d prefer to be kind. It’s the way we should all be living instead of choosing short term gains over long term success.

To me this is one of the best commentary videos that I've seen thus far. Great job! There are more than a handful of things that I will take from this segment...
I believe one of the most important overlooked categories in basic manners is how to be a good guest. Whether crashing on a couch for a night or staying the week with your inlaws, there are basic behaviors and actions for being someone who will be welcomed back. Respect indeed!
STARTING EARLY IS THR BEST WAY OF GETTING AHEAD TO BUILD WEALTH, AND INVESTING REMAIN A PRIORITY. THE STOCK MARKET HAS PLENTY OF OPPORTUNITY TO EARN A DECENT PAYOUTS, WITH THE RIGHT SKILLS AND A PROPER UNDERSTANDING OF HOW THE MARKET WORKS.
Respect. I think that people have lost respect for themselves and for others. One of the main things is how their parents bought them up. A lot people do not take pride in themselves. That is where it starts.
Hmm, I think you didn´t get the point of introversion. I am an introvert. What doesn´t mean that i don´t have great communication skills. I am actually pretty good in talking with others. But i just don´t want to talk my whole day. I enjoy it to be allone. What is wrong with that?

Love the video, but from my understanding of psychology i think your definition of introversion is quite off and just comes out silly, someone can be an introvert and still be a master of conversation. being an introvert is not a disability. Respect.
I just was writing a response to that part of the video when I saw yours, TOTALLY agree with you! While I do believe some people hide behind the guise of being introverted when they are really shy, introversion IS a real thing and there plenty of social introverts.
Thats why in the video it said, it's like walking, no one is born knowing how to walk, its a skill you learn. So, being an introvert is an actual thing but the video says that you can train yourself to be better at talking with others. Its not disrespectful, it's just a comment. It never said being an introvert is a disease. I am an introvert by the way, and I have learned to have bettter conversations, as the video says introverts can.

MIKE K I grew up with no father. I have manners. I had a poor attitude about it when I was younger, but then I decided to change that; now I consider myself fortunate to have the opportunity to build my metaphorical castle with stones from many different quarries, able to choose the best qualities from respectable men and women to integrate into myself and use as tools in life. This approach has helped me create a well-rounded self that is very adaptable and resilient.
I like her rule number two! I’m gonna work on this one in 2023. I’m embarrassed to say that sometimes I let my mouth talk about things that I’m not the most knowledgeable about. This is changing today.
None of these say you have to be a push over or let people walk all over you. Don't mix up these rules, first you must love and respect your self in order for others to respect you and in order for you to respect other. Serving man kind doesn't work if you don't serve yourself first.
That's such a great idea! 15 signs/rules for being lady. The world wants us to be as good as we can(or cannot). Let's talk about ladies, without malevolence.
A gentleman is less than 15 rules. He carries himself with respect, dignity, and character. He is also well educated, dresses neatly, comfortable in his own skin, and handles everything with the right attitude based on the situation. Nice video none the less.
Respect! I still have work to do, and I feel encouraged that although some of my life choices are sometimes out of line, my core values are holding me accountable for improving my standard. Thank you Alux for reminding me of who I chose to be and what I really stand for!
RESPECT” is something that always had for others but a lot of people don’t seem to like respect in this trouble times but I’m going to keep it within me” thanks alux.!

@@marcanthonyferman5725 Thanks brotha. Update: in my third year. Mom passed away right in the middle of my second year, so I’ve built up what I lost and I’ve surpassed the point where my life fell apart.
It's all the above. From high school, l saw people who are respectful are regarded as weak and those who are brash seems to be respected. The media appears to highlight people who are macho-- not strong as preferable traits and people who are meek are protraided as weak. People mistakenly believe meekness is weakness. So many men who do not want to be labeled as weak would subscribe to this way of thinking. I know I have. But it's the truly strong who are able to resist this.
The problem is that a real gentleman isn't a "nice guy". A true gentleman doesn't get stepped on or pushed around. They have confidence and will take charge. "Nice Guys" are cowards that participate in propitiation and would call letting another dude take their girlfriend in their own car to a movie that they paid the ticket for "gentlemanly".
Sadly true. Most people just accept it as the new norm in the times but I strongly disagree with it. You think required etiquette classes in all schools might help?
If you are homeless, in poverty, middle income, just getting by, a high roller, CEO, POTUS or the Queen of England whatever you are everyone deserves the same level of respect.
Hey Alux.com this video was amazing. I think the internet has changed the culture. I was wondering if you where going to do a reverse video for women. RESPECT.
Well spoken. A good way to develop confidence by self affirmation of being a gentleman. This also encourages personality development. All must work on their few lacking traits. I only disagree with you on the outlook of an introvert. Respect.
RESPECT : The culture change because people change itself. Being Gentlemen makes people think its a weakness and people can be run over because they are good even somebody is already taking advantage of being good.
They made one of those before this one I’m pretty sure. Titled “How to be a millennial lady. Both my fiancé and I are trying to make a transformation. This is a good video. You should have your woman check out the other one.
Alchemica Blackwood No, the only difference is that fiancé is still a French word but used in american language meaning ' to get engaged'. This video surely didn't seem to help you act like a gentlemen because you sound rude and misinformed. Spread women hate elsewhere.
Nice work! "Respect!" About the question: "Why do you think the culture has changed?" The only point permanent in life is change! If for better or worse it depends on what we add to it by the actions that we make in our private life. As we can learn with Carl Gustav Jung at his work on Collective Unconscious.
Respect. I believe the reason being a gentleman isn't respected in today's world is because many believe that they are thankless tasks. I think many low vibrational and mediocre people turn down their nose at real gentlemen in some cases to the point where it demotivates the younger men in society.
The culture hasn't changed, It's just that the weak have grown in numbers, the strong are in a short supply nowadays. You know what weak and strong means, right.
Alux.com number 14 hit home for me. I can give advice on certain things because either I lost something or Inhave gained something. People take advice for granted because it's free and they don't really want your advice. They just want to waste your time and have you around for bragging rights. I cut those people off. I've been told to stop giving away free advice. Build the company. Gain marketshare. The, people will pay to hear my experiences.
Culture is changing because of the media. See what the #METOO and Feminism are doing to being a man. In the UK some groups are pushing for the word 'Gentleman' to be abolished. #Respect
Yes... of course.....+Athan Kosmo - because anytime a man fall's short (starts or stops doing something), it's ALWAYS a woman's fault, right? Listen, when an Alpha man looks at this, he never says that it ended because women just SUDDENLY stopped appreciating it because he knows that women would never stop appreciating what is in their best interest. But to a Beta male, your excuse would make sense because beta males are notorious for failing to reflect inward and instead look outwardly to find another group to take the blame. Here's the thing - Alpha men do not let other people dictate how they behave or who they should be proud to become. Instead, they simply adopt certain attributes (usually attributes that they would be proud of their son's for having) and this way only the people who are worthy of their time and are of the same caliber will be attracted to them. All others will be uninterested and will go away on their own. In other words, they use their chivalry as a way to weed out the unworthy - they don't STOP being chivalrous just to gain the interest of the masses because that's counterproductive to a good quality of life! So if you've looked around and noticed that women CEASED (not seized) to appreciate a gentlemen's manner then it's quite possible that the women you were watching were of less quality than the women you SHOULD HAVE been paying attention to. Just food for thought. Be well.
Not all women, but a lot. I still show the utmost respect to all. I hold doors, speak, assist, even when not required, and I still notice the lack of appreciation. I was once told "you can help me, but you're not getting my number". I politely told the lady "My wife was the one who told me you were struggling, so I didn't come here for that". The embarrassment on her face was priceless, but saddening that she couldn't take some help when she was in real need.
I think your comment and the replies prove that Gentlemen and manners have disappeared for many. Note how everyone here essentially said, "No, you". As to the cause of the problem. Feminist women are just as much the fault for lack of Gentlemen as feminized men who aren't willing to stand up for themselves or instill values in their children. Both parties are at fault and until we can take ownership of our own shortcomings rather than point the finger, the problems will remain.
I think it is a combination of people that have malicious intent to hurt others portray themselves as good people, and also changing values and attitudes that has caused this consternation in our world today.
Ladies do too! Gender is irrelevant..the same personal qualities in a male, that must be present and accounted for, to qualify him as a legitimate man..much less a true gentleman.. Are exactly the same degree of personal qualities that must be equally present in a female, for her to be properly considered a genuine woman...much less a lady! Respect, just like trust & love are things EVERYONE must EARN, of their own accord, in their own right..and by their own inner sense of immpecability
Yes and I'm on a journey of self improvement. For my own sake, not anyone else. My next step is quitting all social media, giving up most entertainment, etiquette lessons and proceed to the things that are too long to list. I am determined to be the best possible version of me and accomplish my goals! Warm regards :)
Number 5 is my favorite 😃😎 Great vídeo 👏 Why have people lost their etiquette? Because there is a lack of standards in society and a lack of love and respect.
My Spoken Story 'S really? Its only b-roll, don’t let that simple oversight detract from the quality advice in this video. If they were film- makers then yes this would be shoddy work, but most of their videos revolve around the spoken content/advice given, as opposed to the still images
@@marcanthony6144 My guess is that he's speaking on it from multiple layers: The fact that society is so immoral that people don't want to change; due to social media, our attention span is so short we pay little attention to 20+ min videos; and that because of media, even when we're told what's required and actually important, our "default" goes back to what prevailing society has taught us (in this case, that "bad boys" are superior to "gentlemen") Of course that is my interpretation. I could be completely off. Hope it helped regardless 👍🏿
I don't know where you're from but here in the United States it sounds hard to many men when Americans prefer the easy and convenient above all else even if it's not worth it in the end. Men and women are guilty of this. None the less, I appreciate actual gentleman. I'd date/marry nothing less. And I'd rather be alone with a fulfilling career and child I adopted than lower my standards in a partner too. Too many PEOPLE settle for low standards whether for themselves, at work and in their choice of partner. I myself am working on improving myself and I'm feeling great about it. Warm regards.
These tips sound less like ways to be a gentlemen and more like ways to be good, considerate, decent person period, regardless of if you're male or female!!!

It's refreshing to hear this, in a time when following the rules is seen almost as something shameful
Respect.
As usual, another educational experience with Alux. Time well spent. Thanks, it's appreciated.

Awesome!! can we have the woman version of this.?
That's such a great idea! 15 signs/rules for being lady. The world wants us to be as good as we can(or cannot). Let's talk about ladies, without malevolence.

A gentleman is less than 15 rules. He carries himself with respect, dignity, and character. He is also well educated, dresses neatly, comfortable in his own skin, and handles everything with the right attitude based on the situation. Nice video none the less.
And a quality watch 😆
Thank you Alux for the work that you do. RESPECT!
Thank you I sent this to my sons I heard it to the end, I love it thank you 🙏🏽
RESPECT!!! For Others, Family, and myself.
Respect! I still have work to do, and I feel encouraged that although some of my life choices are sometimes out of line, my core values are holding me accountable for improving my standard. Thank you Alux for reminding me of who I chose to be and what I really stand for!

@@marcanthonyferman5725 Thanks brotha. Update: in my third year. Mom passed away right in the middle of my second year, so I’ve built up what I lost and I’ve surpassed the point where my life fell apart.

Respect!.Saying: It takes a gentleman to teach a boy how to be a gentleman.
RESPECT: can start with personal appearance and fitness, then empathy. Thanks ALUX
8:29 I absolutely love this point. This is such a problem these days.
Respect. I am sorry to say the only rule I follow in this is being punctual. People are rude about cell phones. They are intrusive and disrespectful.
Respect! While I have a handle of a few of these points, I definitely have room for improvement on most (if not all) of them.
I’ve been waiting on this! Time to show my fiancé!
This is my favorite video, it's talking facts that need to change
Hey Alux.com this video was amazing. I think the internet has changed the culture. I was wondering if you where going to do a reverse video for women. RESPECT.
Well spoken. A good way to develop confidence by self affirmation of being a gentleman. This also encourages personality development. All must work on their few lacking traits.
I only disagree with you on the outlook of an introvert.
Respect.
RESPECT: Excellent video, thanks for sharing!
RESPECT : The culture change because people change itself. Being Gentlemen makes people think its a weakness and people can be run over because they are good even somebody is already taking advantage of being good.
I’d like to see the video on “how to be a lady”.
They made one of those before this one I’m pretty sure. Titled “How to be a millennial lady. Both my fiancé and I are trying to make a transformation. This is a good video. You should have your woman check out the other one.
Mark McGee Sounds good. Of course now I’d like to see the video - “How to be a millennial man!” 👍🏻
feminists won´t agree
Alchemica Blackwood No, the only difference is that fiancé is still a French word but used in american language meaning ' to get engaged'. This video surely didn't seem to help you act like a gentlemen because you sound rude and misinformed. Spread women hate elsewhere.
Alchemica Blackwood A marriage isn't a currency exchange but a partnership.
Respect. I don’t think that I’m really ambitious enough to ever achieve some of these thing truly, but I guess it’s definitely more than worth a try.

Etiquette died because of lower than expected standards. I went to a boarding school and I am grateful for how Inhave turned out.

I listened this this as I sewed my YSL sleeve back to normal. Thanks for more inspiration.
Nice work! "Respect!"
About the question: "Why do you think the culture has changed?" The only point permanent in life is change! If for better or worse it depends on what we add to it by the actions that we make in our private life. As we can learn with Carl Gustav Jung at his work on Collective Unconscious.
RESPECT!! 43rd view🙌
Been waiting for hours for this notification, I thought you guys are already on a Christmas break😂😂
As usual excellent content
Respect. I believe the reason being a gentleman isn't respected in today's world is because many believe that they are thankless tasks. I think many low vibrational and mediocre people turn down their nose at real gentlemen in some cases to the point where it demotivates the younger men in society.
The culture hasn't changed,
It's just that the weak have grown in numbers, the strong are in a short supply nowadays.
Respect, Respect, Respect. I sincerely appreciate this video. Thank you for making it.
Culture is changing because of the media. See what the #METOO and Feminism are doing to being a man. In the UK some groups are pushing for the word 'Gentleman' to be abolished. #Respect
Only Manchurian media would want to eliminate the term gentleman.
There is a media war on men of values.
Somebody mentioned what it is to be a lady. In my eyes it would be the same principles.
And yes, I've met women who are like that.
If this thread is still taking input....the world changed by just not caring.
RESPECT
Respect! Amazing video! Thanks you Alex. But how about a Lady video?
The culture changed because contemporary women ceased to appreciate a gentleman's manners....
Truth ✌...
When women got enough matured ..
They start running behind #gentlemen😎
Yes... of course.....+Athan Kosmo - because anytime a man fall's short (starts or stops doing something), it's ALWAYS a woman's fault, right? Be well.
Exactly right. Feminazis going off on a guy for opening the door for her....
Gentlemen need good manners.
Gentlemen possess good manners.
Does anyone else feel like they've been living their life like this unconsciously?
Yes and I'm on a journey of self improvement. For my own sake, not anyone else. My next step is quitting all social media, giving up most entertainment, etiquette lessons and proceed to the things that are too long to list. I am determined to be the best possible version of me and accomplish my goals! Warm regards :)

Why have people lost their etiquette? Because there is a lack of standards in society and a lack of love and respect.

5:38 that computer isn’t even plugged in. Complete loss of credibility when your B roll has actors playing with powerless computers.
My Spoken Story 'S really? Its only b-roll, don’t let that simple oversight detract from the quality advice in this video. If they were film- makers then yes this would be shoddy work, but most of their videos revolve around the spoken content/advice given, as opposed to the still images
The problem with society is that, someone even after clicking on this video asks for a video on how to be a bad boy
You did not explain what the problem is with Society just pointed out someone asked for a video about bad boys so what's the problem with Society?
@@marcanthony6144 My guess is that he's speaking on it from multiple layers: The fact that society is so immoral that people don't want to change; due to social media, our attention span is so short we pay little attention to 20+ min videos; and that because of media, even when we're told what's required and actually important, our "default" goes back to what prevailing society has taught us (in this case, that "bad boys" are superior to "gentlemen")
Of course that is my interpretation. I could be completely off. Hope it helped regardless 👍🏿

Master the art of

Do something really hard
Wow, being a gentlemen seems hard.
