(For those that were wondering, Yam and Spite did everything ranging from suspension to the 1200 upgrade with a full dyno. All of that for a bike to give away is pure love)

@@christianmccall4542 i love it. Since it is my first bike i dont have alot to compare it with but it has plenty of power. On the highway in 6th gear you go from 100km/h to 130 in like 1.5 secconds so passing cars is easy.
I am 6ft5, 1m97 and it is comfy for me. Flatfooting it on both sides.
The only thing that i need to get used to is that it does not want to go below 3200rpm. It starts to shake quite abit so in some corners i need to downshift to first gear.
If you are thinking of getting one, ill gladly recomend them :)
@@rockrick9988 thanks for tip. Adv bikes are the kind of thing I'll stare at for way too long but never actually buy. I'm 5'8" with very little highway or off-road riding.
@@christianmccall4542 i only ride on road aswell. Adv/touring bikes are just really comfy. If you are shorter, the tracer 700 might be nicer. I tried it and it was way too small for me
883 turned out great and congrats to Paul. As a fellow HOG, I know he will love it. Now when are guys gonna ride/ review/give away a Touring Harley; Ultra Limited, Street Glide, Road Glide?
You’re kinda leaving out that some guys like to and get satisfaction out of making a beast like that with their own hands rather than just paying for it. These performance kits can make a weekend wrencher feel like a legit motor builder and that adds a WHOLE nother layer of enjoyment and pride to the riding experience, along with the feeling that you REALLY know your bike from the inside out. Like when you twist that throttle, part of your brain goes “yea! I made that!”
I just purchase the 1275 kit for my iron and i would totally agree. Past few days ive been taking the bike apart so its ready to be put back together when the kit arrives next week. I am having so much fun doing the work and im too anxious to put it back together again.
I like seeing the pinnacle of the project when the bike is given away. It was especially nice that it went someone who wanted a Sportster more than any other bike and congratulations to him for a great win!

You could always just buy a 1200 sportster and do a 492 S&S cam upgrade lifters and dyno that that would be cheaper.. used sportster all day for $5-7k

I don't know why you guys have never dyno tuned the Hayabusa. A good dyno tune on that machine would no doubt not just be a HP increase but probably gas mileage too.

Likely the last year for the iconic sportster? Probably about time. All the downfalls mentioned in this video including the scout reference are why the custom 1250 will be out sooner than later with a 975 likely to follow. The replacement for the sportster, with a modern engine making modern power. I have an 883, my first bike, and the only thing I’m doing to it for performance is a stage 1 and maybe a cam, maybe? When I must have more power, I’ll get a bigger motorcycle.

I would do a Roadster front end swap to get upside down forks and dual front disks, along with that i would do legends internals on the roadster forks.
New seat from saddlemen, new bars(probably tbars) and a memphis shades road warrior fairing

Well I know he doesn’t need to change the motor, maybe handle bars a more performance oriented exhaust. However, not necessary right away.. probably a saddlemen 2 up seat with rear pegs
Just get an xr1200. Performance cams, upside down forks, dual 300mm discs, flat torque curve. Intake and exhaust switch out with a tune and you're at the 90bhp and 90ftlbs of torque with minimal effort.

You lose some power through the transmission and beltdrive, so It's probably right at 100hp at the crank, I'd say it's right where it should be for a 100 hp kit
i have been wanting to get a motorcycle for years now and im going back and forth on which motorcycle to buy.
I wanted to go on rather big tours and still be comfortable while still remaining a bit of sportyness (is that how you write it?).
For a while now ive been wanting to get a Triumph tiger 800 xrx/xcx.
As my father got himself a tiger 1200 and in terms of ergonomics it is surprisingly fitting.
In regards of weight i am having doubts and overall im not sure, i mean i still love that bike but wanted to ask you if it is sort of an overkill.
Oh and also im planning on converting it to 48ps electronically.

Ok a sporty is not necessary about big up it's about ft lbs of troque vs money spent and not about huge giddy go unless you wants go that way. Ive owned three two iron motors one of which was a truett Osborne 77ci kit on a 67 55 CI iron motors yest it was a gernade a scary fun sf ride second was a 61ci n current is a 74 CI Evo with upgrades to suspension n lighting n a carb kit n soon to be I hope a new two into one total so far 3 g including bike it runs good but I see cams in my future I like what flip said do as much as you can stock .when it goes I will go big

The sportster is such a better looking bike than the scout. Better build quality and overall just a more desirable motorcycle than the scout for probably most of the US.

So, $1200 for the big bore kit, the time and headaches to put it in, and 3 hours to dyno tune it, and there are 650s out there with as much power. And it still won't corner or stop.

It's not a power exhaust. BS, shitty Harley just lying about the 100bhp package. Exhausts do very little to performance unless you do a full change, decat, Dyno tune and air filter. Excuses, buy a decent bike!!!
