What if Na5 when we play d5? Instead of going back to its home square, so the rook protects against the checkmate threat on the back rank? I assume just bishop b4 to trap the Queen and then…?
Thanks for the relaxing video. I Just have a question tough. What if instead of retreating the knight back during the variation, my opponent immediately goes for Queen takes Pawn on G2? Do I just force It again with Rook G1, since it is protected by the Knight on F3? Or do I prioritize the theme move of Pawn D5?
Seems like the optimal decision for the defender here is to push forward with their knight, proposing a mutual knight trade. It’d be an error for white to immediately capture in this situation, though if black initiates the trade that’ll leave white with a pawn out in the open after taking black’s pawn, and doubled pawns on the light bishop file. I wonder how that would continue to play out?

He has a video on the sicilian dragon which is a better defence than the modern but has similar features which might be worth checking out
