    Your videos are so incredible and have made me fall in love with chess. For beginners like me they teach at a slow learnable pace, while also doing an amazing job instilling an appreciation for the history and beauty of the game. The bigger RUclipsrs and streamers (including the IMs, GMs, etc.) lack your style, depth, and intimacy, which feels like I have my own private tutor every time I watch. Kasparov actually credits his work ethic rather than his intelligence for his skill. Of course he couldn't have gotten where he did if he hadn't a good head on his shoulders, but his ability to work tirelessly and to always (ALWAYS) learn from his mistake and improve himself was what really set him apart. I think that is very inspiring. Also to see how he has now applied that principle to his personal life and opinions and has become a better and more complete person than he was when he was young. Very impressive, inspiring and interesting guy. He has some faults as well of course.

    What a move at 32:18

  • @2017tropmarrant
    @2017tropmarrant 3 года назад

    At 18:38, I thought I found a way to defend this, you just pin the white queen to its king with the black queen, defended by the rook. This way, no check from the queen, but we lose the black queen, since you can still get a check from the white rook. The black rook captures the white one, doesnt protect its queen anymore, so we lose the queen, but at least we avoided checkmate.
    Problem is, we still have the same issue with our king trapped, we can defend with our bishop but it won't hold for too long, same idea, check from the white queen, captured by the bishop then recaptured by the the pawn, checkmate.
    There is probably other variations but i think it's a really interesting position.
    It also explains why Kasparov didnt try this idea of activating his king before in the game, because he didnt have his rook prepared to give a check. This time the queen exchange would have been unavoidable, and the attack would have stopped there.
