For some reason SOny Movie Studio 16 does not do a very good job at all load balancing rendering across Ryzen's 32 threads. It's kind of abysmal how littl ei takes advantage of all this processing power on my 7950x. It's 10x faster for sure than on my FX8350... but for the moneyI put into this and the horsepower it has, it should be 30x because it's leaving a lot of horsepower on the table.
How can I see the preview when I apply a fx in a video. I have to close the window to see the changes in the preview but I suppose that I have to activate the preview option… It’s embarrassing to have to close the fx window and open it and close it…🤣

Ayyee got an OG vegas pro user that's awesome to hear and yeh it's definitely changed since vegas pro 10 I've been using it since 12 and they've added quite a lot of cool new features but sadly it still crashes and freezes to this day. I just wish they'd optimise it more. Did you used to make RUclips videos or like personal projects when you used it?

Hey man so I recently switched from vegas 17 to vegas 20 and am having an issue with my cursor being slightly delayed by 0.5s or so every time i click a new section of the clip. Do you know how I can change it? Not sure if it's in the settings somewhere but can't find it
@@VerticDesigns i've looked it up and it's a problem a fair few get with the versions 19 and 20 of vegas. I think I'm going to just have to use my old version and hopefully get a refund for my order of veg 20

Crash Pro - this is how Vegas should called. I have used used Vegas for over 10 years (I admit, not quite legal versions, for personal, home purposes), and it kept crashing all the time, no matter what version and computer I used. Finally, I decided to buy a subscription, downloaded a trial version ... and I crashed at the very start! I have quite strong PC, with fast GPU and spend long hours on troubleshooting, searched for help (I could get one from the vendor!) - and I failed! It never started. I gave up and downloaded Premiere Pro - man, what a relief! I works like a charm, no crashes whatsoever! In three days the 7-day trial period ends, and I will buy the subscription for sure!
Yeh, I totally get you and you're 100% right. I've also been using Vegas Pro since Sony Vegas Pro 12 and currently on Vegas Pro 20 which still crashes to this day. I used to think the same thing "maybe it's my system being slow" or "maybe I added a wrong effect or something else" when realistically speaking it's the program itself. It's just poorly optimised and has been for many versions. I'm currently running a RTX 3090 with a Ryzen 9 5950x + 128GB ram and I still can't edit a simple video without it crashing. I had a similar experience to you where my friend recommended Premiere Pro and was like "Dude you should try it out" and when I started using it I was so shocked at how well I could edit the entire video and preview it back smoothly without many problem. It just honestly just blow my mind at how I could even preview the entire video fully without having to lower the quality to the lowest. Even to this day it still blows my mind at how I can edit 4k videos flawlessly and preview them with no issues. So yeh as a video editor it was definitely a relief when using Premiere Pro and all the rage and stress from Vegas Pro crashing just disappeared

No. You should set the project settings according to your original footage. Then set custom settings while rendering!

Yo my vegas won't let me add any video to the thing when I click and drag my video it just clicks and doesn't even interact with it.
Yeh for some reason the drag and drop doesn't work anymore so you have to open the video inside vegas pro by going the explorer way
