Easily the best performance of Pillar of Davidson that I've seen on here! Just.... Wow! Goosebumps over and over again every single time!! God Bless Ed K and his voice!!
here I am locking horns with the stallion failing to hold my head up, I'll go back again pillar of davidson feeling to hard to go down cheaper than all the souls he will walk upon deeper and deeper in love so I hold my head up cheaper than all the souls he will walk upon pillar of davidson feeling to hard to go down
My favorite band ever! Alot of memories from my teenage with this song and the entire album. So sad that Ed couldn't tame his ego. But for me LIVE still alive. With CT, PD, CC & CC.
Saw LIVE again - this time Roche Estate Hunter Valley NSW Australia just last month. Omg - still have it massively. They have never disappointed. Tix on sale tomorrow for 1 March 2018 Sydney Australia. Going to be awesome 👊
I'm not a musician so I don't know what it is called, but at the end when the backup singers start an alternate chorus (counter-chorus?), it is freaking awesome. It sounds almost like Gregorian chanting.
I used to have this as an mp3 and I put it on a cd which was horrible quality, so thanks for putting this up! I saw Live for the first about a month and a half before this show, so it brings back memories.
“How in the hell could a man enjoy being awakened at 8:30 a.m. by an alarm clock, leap out of bed, dress, force-feed, shit, piss, brush teeth and hair, and fight traffic to get to a place where essentially you made lots of money for somebody else and were asked to be grateful for the opportunity to do so? ” ― Charles Bukowski, Factotum
+Iinkubiss Bukowski even worked as a janitor, so I guess he knew what he was talking about. I just quoted him because i think it goes along with the spirit of this great song. cheers!
Oh such a great song! I agree with you @Peter Agugliaro. For me, Live is one of the best bands in 90's (I think Ed looks very similar like Andre Agassi jaja)
Was it because Throwing Copper was so damn great that they never matched it again? Not a single effort after this album even matched even a song in this.
Thanks so much for posting! I LOVE the "Throwing Copper" album, although have not been able to work up much enthusiasm for the rest of their offerings.
LOL... you took the words right out of my mouth. To think I used to fancy him. Although, in fairness, I was fifteen at the time :) Still, what a fantastic band they were!
Mmm, never saw this live version before. One of the few instances where I can say the live version is superior to the studio version. Ed really nails it.
Agreed. My favourite band of all time. Menttal Jewellery, Thrwing Copper, Secret Samahdi and The distance to here were all awesome. Im not sure what happened to them after that, they kind of lost the power or passion to go off. It would be great if they could power up again. Did you hear me Ed?
Not a real knowledgeable Live fan but what a fantastic song. Who is the back up guitar and vocal guy with the big sunglasses? My God....What a harmonizing voice!!!
Yep got it. I love it. Its not that they're (ED) not writing passionate songs I guess what I meant to say is that there was a lot more angst and unpredictability about their songs back then. These days as much as I love the fact that they've matured I just get sick of the fact that their songs seem a little more formulated these days.
So any one thing the back up singer on the "old bad eyes" part sounds like ed? i am pretty sure it is his Brother singing that part and playing the rythm guitar... he often toured with them.
I've to agree about this not being the best version. I hope to eventually hear them live though. ^^v And I say that the best was "Distance." It introduced me to Live and I found the music to be very beautiful.
No, there isn't a dvd for this concert, unless someone burned the concert to a dvd and sells them, but I doubt it. By the way, I love this song, and thanks for posting this video!
What is going on here!!!!!! How can Ed accept this? He could sit down with a bass guitarist and a rhythm guitarist alone and a blow a hole through the crowd with this powerful song! Yet here he is with a flakey version and some BS keyboard stuff going on. *sigh* come on Ed you can't let this sort of thing happen!
I definitly gotta agree with catkisser. Secret Sahmadi was ...O.k.. I really wish they coulda done alot better with the rest of their stuff. But, Throwing Copper is probably one of my favorite CDs of all time
Hmmm, OK after listening to the comment about people working for the "man". I hope that they are sympathising and not mocking because of course not everyone can be in a band.... most people work at jobs paid by the hour and they are greatful for those jobs to keep them afloat. Rock bands should never forget that their listeners are in that kind of situation.
Contrast this version with one from '95: Why did Ed become so pompous which resulted in them putting on such a soulless live show? They once were such a great live band....
they've got a right to try to diversify with different instruments, they have been together since 1989 this song came out in 94, it doesnt really work for their song but they tried, last 2 albums have been very average, i love the chances they took on the V album, earlier shit is all perfect, i think since TDTH their problem has been the selections of what they release as singles, makes them seem very 'adult contemporary'
Andre Agassi, tremendous tennis player, wonderful vocalist
hahhahahahaha
Easily the best performance of Pillar of Davidson that I've seen on here! Just.... Wow! Goosebumps over and over again every single time!! God Bless Ed K and his voice!!
Diddo on the goosebumps. At first I didn't know why you got goosebumps but it hit me at about the 6:10 mark.
"Throwing Copper" is one of my favorite albums ever. Thank you so much for posting!
It's a shame they never achieved that level of greatness again. Their subsequent albums weren't bad, they just vastly pale in comparison.
Saw them in 95 in Albany NY. First concert without my parents. Remember he came into the crowd for this song. Will never forget.
here I am locking horns with the stallion
failing to hold my head up, I'll go back again
pillar of davidson feeling to hard to go down
cheaper than all the souls he will walk upon
deeper and deeper in love so I hold my head up
cheaper than all the souls he will walk upon
pillar of davidson feeling to hard to go down

still in love with this song!!!!!!
How I love Ed's voice! 🖤 His timbre is soooo unique, and his raspy voice and falsettos ohhh.... I just never get enough of it
love this song!!!! still get the goosebumbs when I hear it!!
this song gets me every time! such a great performance by the guys
Great Song that flashed me a long time ago and still does!!
I love love love love this song perfect.
great song. thx. brings back many memories
Hhaha who writes Thx these days?... thanks brings back many memories
I could watch Ed K all day! So captivating on stage and that voice!
Love Live since the 90’s! The song gives me chills every time.)
I haven't been able to love ALL of Live's songs but this, and anything on "Throwing Copper" is golden.
Same thing here. Their songs get you through dark times.
Perfection, there is nothing else to say!!!
I have every Live album and this is my favorite song. I've been to so many of their concerts, but have never seen the song performed live.
I just love his voice, I had forgotten about this band.
Saw LIVE again - this time Roche Estate Hunter Valley NSW Australia just last month. Omg - still have it massively. They have never disappointed. Tix on sale tomorrow for 1 March 2018 Sydney Australia. Going to be awesome 👊
This is an awesome version of a great song. One of their best from a time when they were still so passionate about their song writing. Tops!!
This has to be one of the greatest songs ever written!!
I'm not a musician so I don't know what it is called, but at the end when the backup singers start an alternate chorus (counter-chorus?), it is freaking awesome. It sounds almost like Gregorian chanting.
I always felt the same about that very part.
I used to have this as an mp3 and I put it on a cd which was horrible quality, so thanks for putting this up! I saw Live for the first about a month and a half before this show, so it brings back memories.
Thanks for adding. Excellent song
wow i dont understand how you can like this band but not this song....this is one of their greatest

+Victor Kitamoto try being poor
+Iinkubiss Bukowski even worked as a janitor, so I guess he knew what he was talking about. I just quoted him because i think it goes along with the spirit of this great song. cheers!
Its called "putting food on the table". We do what we need to do............
The best performance of that song I have ever seen. Ed was givin' it.
I reckon "Turn my head" from Secret Samadhi came close.
Thanks so much for posting! I LOVE the "Throwing Copper" album, although have not been able to work up much enthusiasm for the rest of their offerings.
still d best 2021 of June yes sir
This is the purest version....
Saw them at Barras in 90's looks like they might be back happy days
LOL... you took the words right out of my mouth. To think I used to fancy him. Although, in fairness, I was fifteen at the time :) Still, what a fantastic band they were!
I've only just got into Live, I only have this album, so I won't call myself a real fan yet, but this is my favourite song off of the album!
i love this song.. and this band.
thank you for posting your a star
Sublime.
Ed is a vampire, he still looks the same over 20 years later.
Great performance!!! but could do without the keyboards
Thanks for posting this! awesome!
agreed.... very powerful and well written. Probably my fav on a very good album.
I saw Live 'live' back in 1997, it was a great show,,,
Mmm, never saw this live version before.
Did you hear me Ed?
this is an amazing song
I think the fact he hasn't released a blog bitching about the other members of the band speaks more volumes than the fact they have!
I agree with everything you said! What a shame his big fat ego ended this amazing band
Andre Agassi. To follow up a great tennis career with music like this is amazing!
Not a real knowledgeable Live fan but what a fantastic song. Who is the back up guitar and vocal guy with the big sunglasses? My God....What a harmonizing voice!!!
My fav that time keep requesting on the radio
My favoritest song ever !!!!
@catkisser , i am from that town, York, PA, and no, they are not mocking at all, i don't see how you could possibly even begin to think that
Awesome
please post the whole show in one hit for us!!!!
Your opinion is absolutely correct
Yep got it. I love it. Its not that they're (ED) not writing passionate songs I guess what I meant to say is that there was a lot more angst and unpredictability about their songs back then. Loving Live since the album Throwing cooper, I hope to see them live again in Brazil!!!❤ 🖤
I've to agree about this not being the best version. I hope to eventually hear them live though. ^^v
And I say that the best was "Distance." It introduced me to Live and I found the music to be very beautiful.
This is what i remember
GOAT! That is all!
Great song
No, there isn't a dvd for this concert, unless someone burned the concert to a dvd and sells them, but I doubt it.
By the way, I love this song, and thanks for posting this video!

Sana wag kalimutan ang mga ating pinagsamahan

what is ed doing with his feet ?
(a bit more practice and he could do the moonwalk ;D )
I love this band !
❤❤❤
his charisma scares me
One of the greatest songs ever...the lyrics are amazin'...just use some imagination and a bit of thought.....SEE.....Fuckin' Awesome!!!!
THIS great song doesn't need a damn synthesizer and a gospel woman singing. Keep it simple guys. Less is more
fenomenos !!!
I definitly gotta agree with catkisser. Secret Sahmadi was ...O.k.. I really wish they coulda done alot better with the rest of their stuff. But, Throwing Copper is probably one of my favorite CDs of all time
Ooooooooh YESSSSS!!!!!!
❤🎸
Wow
do his shoes have ball bearings?
@kravitz75 I wouldn't say the best ever, but it is very, very good.
No sound on this video anymore????
What are the chords for 'almighty fear'?
these guys need to get back together..it was working
Hmmm, OK after listening to the comment about people working for the "man". I hope that they are sympathising and not mocking because of course not everyone can be in a band.... most people work at jobs paid by the hour and they are greatful for those jobs to keep them afloat. How come so many videos of Live are only in 240p
who's the 2nd guitarist. I don't remember there being two. I thought it was just Chad.
eddie has cool eyebows
4 u Sammy boy
See the entire album throwing copper to ne brings spiritual philosophical imagery like my Shepard to me represent Jesus Christ the good shepherd
Contrast this version with one from '95: Why did Ed become so pompous which resulted in them putting on such a soulless live show? They once were such a great live band....
best frontman nicolas cage
biggest song...
This song is about the writer struggling with his faith. End of. The Shepherd is Christ.........
they've got a right to try to diversify with different instruments, they have been together since 1989 this song came out in 94, it doesnt really work for their song but they tried, last 2 albums have been very average, i love the chances they took on the V album, earlier shit is all perfect, i think since TDTH their problem has been the selections of what they release as singles, makes them seem very 'adult contemporary'
Still such a shame Ed broke with the band, both are not as good as they were
