One of the very few albums I own that I could listen to without skipping any song. This one is my favorite as well. It took me several years to figure out the lyrics at the end which really bothered me because it's the best part of the song, IMO!!
I like this song and Live. Throwing Copper is a great album and lots of memories during my teenage years back in the 90s. I saw them Live for the first time in Toronto last night. Although their set was short, I'm glad they stopped over the big smoke and was able to see them. I bought their camo 2018 NA Reunion Tour shirt, it looks awesome.
I am one of the privileged that got to witness all that is Live - live I saw them at a club in Vancouver - I was just so close to Ed and the band - it was just mythical for me.. I was just lost in the music. So sad this band is no more
State college PA here! You guys are THEE most amazing thing to come out of this shit hole! Marry me please? You give me the feels so fuckin deep with that voice Ed that it flows out of me and the rest of the band, simply fuckin amazing!
Only because this is not only the best song they have but definitely the best vocals on the album I wish he'd leave it as much as possible as such, but such a fantastic singer anyway.
Almighty fear, no way no how, if the Lord your shepherd, sheep dog's gonna be tagging alone until you go home, Goodness and Mercy they're faithful and beautiful, of my way's 🙏🙂
Not only is this an excellent song, it's eerily prophetic given the way things have gone from bad to worse for the working-class men portrayed in this song: global economic shifts, factory closures and lay-offs, restrictions on unions, mockery from the "elite" class, opioid addiction... 😢
Picking a favorite live song like picking a favorite victoria secrets models from the pussy barge, but this one is definitely one of them. Lakinis juice and iris though man those too, and the river

Yes, the original 4 are back together. They announced it in November 2016 and played their first show on December 31, 2016. Live spent most of 2017 doing festival shows and have started headlining their own shows in late 2017 and early 2018. Live will be co-headlining this US Summer and have already written new material. A new album is planned for this year.
I have the full show. I have already uploaded 'The Distance' if you want to check it out. I understand that this show will be made available on Blu-ray next year, so I won't be uploading much more footage (well maybe 1 more track if there is something you really want to see)
Just read the Live 'exposé' article in Rolling Stone... Ye Gods... 😬 You lads need to fuck off all the egos and the b/s and get back together and doing stuff like this again! 🔥 P. S.> I saw you first when I was 18 in Birmingham, UK... Dude that was nigh on 30 years ago! 😲 LIVE. Must. Live. ✊
@@iwalktheline00 Robin is a huge LA session drummer and is now touring with Ed as his backup band. The rest of Live is not touring with Ed. We can only hope they can all just get on with it and get back to Live.
I can sing this in the shower and feel like I'm belting it to a stadium. That's the hallmark of a timeless anthem.
Easily my favorite Live song. It's not even close.
Save them live at SUNY Albany in 1996. My first real concert. Ed came out into the audience to sign this song. I'll never forget that.
That sounds awesome!
Couldn’t agree more
Absolutely agree!
Yeah me too such an underrated song.
i grew up 50 miles from where they are from.. i grew up in Honeybrook, Pennsylvania...ive always loved thier music
Still killing it about 20 years later.
I attended this concert in 2017. This is one of my favorite Live songs. I did not expect them
To play this but when it started I was so so happy ❤
This song is an easy way to see who the real fans are at a Live concert...
Not alot know they had another name before live back in 1987

Throwing coppers was the very first album in my life as a teen, that really brought my shivers. It's still my favorite album
I've been lucky enough to see them live and they are truly *electric*
I saw them as well. I feel like it's a bucket list moment. Absolute magical vocals.
I think I saw them more than any other band... as an opening band. And as a feature. Wherever they played on the East Coast. Phenomenal LIVE band
@@bella9749 I do believe my every moment is my bucket fest.
LOVE this song!!!
Many years have passed since Throwing copper, and Eds voice is like fine 🍷 wine!
Amen to that. I remember rocking out to this album when I was like 13. And it’s only grown on me as I get older and appreciate the musicians involved.
omg yes. This is probably my favorite album ever. I still listen to it often, all those years later, and I never get tired.
Wow....classic.... saw them twice in the 90's. I still play this song loud in my car.
I saw them 13 times. Once in Berkeley California and Woodstock

Great Post, Sir. You can hear how Ed was conflicted with his religious beliefs then. So much of that went into his songwriting.
Favorite part
My favorite Live song too and I've never been able to make out all the words in the background so thank you, definently makes it even better!

I completely agree with everything. Especially the end of the song. I'm now getting goosebumps just thinking about it.
Ed is an excellent songwriter and lyricist
He absolutely is! Nice guy to meet too! I had a crush on him!
Saw them at the York County Fair, it was amazing!
Man that was epic. Brought me to shed a tear 😢. Such a great song. Bless y’all

I love LIVE! Followed them in the 90 s. Best band from that decade. NO. they didn't reinvent rock and roll but they came fkn close!!
Love this song...just brilliant
Some songs leave you wanting more and more… This is one that could never end and still leave you wanting.
South Africa is fortunate to have this band to perform

One of their best on every level. Gracy is a totally underrated and under appreciated drummer, and one of the best. Easily.

why the f*** do they have two drummers?
Chad Gracey had an injury that prevented him playing at 100% so a second drummer called Robin Diaz was brought in to help out on tour.
