For a really awesome weatherproof fire starter, which is also super cheap, try covering the outside of some cotton balls with vaseline. The cotton on the inside stays dry, thanks to the vaseline and when you light them the vaseline is wicked up into the cotton and burns like a candle for a good while. The inside of the cotton ball serves as excellent tinder to start it going with a spark, so you simply take one of these prepared balls, rip it open to expose the dry inner cotton and hit that with some Swedish steel, etc. Instant flame which lasts long enough to start your fire and beautifully weatherproof, especially stored in ziplock bags. Ultra cheap and ultra effective.

Barren landscape, sleet, rain, hail, & high winds. You may have looked pathetic and miserable but you were loving it. Def king and queen of bushcraft.

In wet and windy scotland, being used to hillebergs , where the outer and inner pitch together, makes me wince when I see you putting the inner up first in the rain. Before hilleberg , had a tent that whilst setting it up in torrential rain was full of water by the time the flysheet was on.

Love it ! In Buffalo Ny. We regularly get “Thunder snow “ , on Christmas Eve of 2022 I was stuck in my car for 9 hours in a blizzard ! In the 2006 October storm there was thunder snow ! It’s definitely a thing! These Wickers appear to be extreme opportunists
nice, I cant wait till its the long weekend here in 4 weeks time. going to take my swag or RTT out and do a camp out with my dog and sit back and relax from the city.
I don't know a lot about New Zealand but I definitely didn't think it snowed there or even got cold. I thought it was a hot climate. I love your tent camping. I'm from the northern United States and we have the same winter weather here. I love tent camping it's closer to nature and it's beautiful! Also Happy Birthday to you and I love craft beer and yours sounds really good! Also we have a magnificent brand of chips here in America called Utz doesn't matter which flavor you eat they're all super and I mean super delicious! I had some burgers that were half venison and half wagyu. They were the best ever! I was thinking that sleeping together you can share body heat.
Nz has pretty big mountains. In this video we were 1359 meter above sea level. Also we are far south so get lots of cold from Antarctica. Cheers thank you
Yeah, most of the outside world doesn't realise that NZ is is only about 2500 km from Antarctica with nothing between but the mighty Southern Ocean, and our predominate wind is from the cold SW. Being an Island stops it getting super minus °C like a Continent gets.

You are quite right... protecting the tea has got to be the highest priority.
In the eastern US, we are in fall and preparing for winter. We use to get tons of snow, things have changed, and we get a couple of good snows here.
