- I loved Dirt Rally, and i'm one of the few who also loved Dirt 4, And now Dirt Rally 2.0. I've also tried WRC 7, V-rally 4 and you name it. But there is something spesial about Richard Burns Rally. I don't know how they did it back in 2004, but something did they get right, and no one has managed to get it just as good since. New Physics has been added to make the game even better. RBR is the only rally game I've played where I feel genuine fear of dying.

It totally was. Its a classic that gets more aknowledged the older it gets.
And especially on Tarmac RBR is still way ahead of Dirt Rally 2.0. It still feels almost as shitty on Tarmac as Dirt Rally 1 did.
On loose surfaces i think Dirt Rally 2.0 did a really good job already, but on tarmac even Rally Mods on rfactor 1 were way ahead.
What also made RBR so special is the graphics Engine especially how the Tracks look. It made them look so natural that even 15 Years later they sometimes still look more real and immersive than most modern Racing Games. I dont know any other Game like that, where the Track Graphics aged sooo well.

@@SpriGgEx Don't know about the graphics, but RBR definitely does Asphalt better then any other rally sim excluding rF1. And rF1 was terrible on the dirt.
I now have 10 hours in rbr and haven’t finished a single rally :) I get through one or two stages and then forget about the damage system since I’m used to Dirt being so forgiving and then I slide off track, hit a tree and retire
take it easy, focus on finishing the rally safely first before finishing it fast. youll gel there eventually :)

@@thederperone4653 And that is what makes it fun. The fact that you are running 200 km/h in the woods and a little too fast over a jump can fuck up your car is amazing I have done more than 200hr just rallying in the game
Some may say that theese graphics are outdated, but surely colour palettes are perfect
This game is lightning in a bottle. They accidentally made it so perfect it's almost 2 decades later and nothing provides a better rallying experience.

The original physics of the game are not used anymore. The physics model in CZ and HU are a completely new game as far as I understand it. If Codemasters allowed DR2.0 to be moded it would become even better but we can only dream...
Exactly RBR is not better than DR2.0 but a version with 1000 mods is definitely up there with an unmodded DR 2.0
I play all them, and on my opinion all are good games but Richard Burns is special. 🔥
RBR is great, especially the mechanical part where a small mistake can cost you the entire race. However road physics are not the greatest, gravel feels more like driving on soap. I wish DR2 would have the same car mechanics. I played a lot with hardcore damage, yet still can keep going after hittin a few trees and rocks. RBR would punish your mistakes without mercy and to me it gave a feeling that there was a lot at stake on a rally. No other game made me feel the same(also no option to restart the stage after you screwed up).
you definitely havent tried RBR with recent updates.. it is alot more realistic than in DR2

@@militarypenguin well, basically if you download rbrPro, it has all the best and latest things like fmod sounds and NGP physics and other thingslike telemetry so u can see what your car actually is doing etc

Oh yes it has a lot of bumps and imperfections. Maybe it is difficult to see because of the camera.
I vastly prefer how modded RBR feels when driving over Dirt Rally 2
i remember playing this shit nonstop when it came out, glad it still beats some of the new ones.

After playing RBR with the latest updates, I came up with the idea to try Dirt-2. It was enough for me to go through three tracks to say goodbye to this game. The graphics seemed unreal to me, as if a landscape was drawn. Physics frustrated, steering wheel without any information ...

RBR Pro is epic. Free and just installs right out of the box. 90 new cars and 150 stages. new shaders, sound mods , ... AND VR
I've been struggling with all the installs&mods for RBR. Just found RBRPro last week, so worth the financial support. 👍

@@barnazadori9227 The pro for those who still do not know it uses the plugin and the Czech online. It is not proprietary and does not have its own plugin or even online. The pro is simply a launcher.
In rbr pro you literally have to pay for stuff that are normally free. Rbr pro has such a salty devs and it over all is a big piece of crap. RSF plugin or just RBR CZ are better, way better.

DR2 is pretty garbage game, unplayable tarmac physics (super trash), car feels like its sliding on oil, shitty weight transfer, cars feel too heavy, yea its pretty garbage game :D, WRC10 and rbr are kings

Yes barely tried NGP 6. The tournaments still is in NGP 5.. The co driver is a mod from dirt 4

the only thing dirt rally has over richard burns rally is.... graphics. this game would do so good if it got remastered onto this generation. the physics are unreal to watch.
The audio is way better too in dirt rally but yeah, the most important part is worse..

DIRT4 was terrible, you see the same procedural generated turn in a rally 4 or 5 times that just took the realism out f it for me. Richard Burns is amazing still to this day.

I d been playing Dirt Rally 2.0 with all its extensions and i got bored. Thats why im reinstalling RSRBR 2020. DR2 is an awesome simulator but RBR still being better. All day installing updates but RBR deserve all these work.

@@osvaldoalarcon5264 RSRBR is a bit outdated and its online community is dead, I find the RBR Czech plugin much better, i recommend RBRPro or, if you have the time, RBR with the Czech plugin and all of its mods.

Rbr got far more realistic physx than any orther rally game ever made it is pure simulation you can not compare rbr against arcade dirt

What does he mean PURE SIMULATION? No game is pure simulation. the only thing that could compare to pure simulation would be the simulators that manufacturers use. So no RBR is NOT PURE SIMULATION, its no doubt better than DR2. but stop acting like its exactly the same as being in a real car. What is closer on a WRC car? Sequencial stick or paddel shifter. I think the latter is closer to a push pull shifter.
