Joshua Tree to Las Vegas 300 km brevet

William Hunt of the PCH Randonneurs is known for hosting epic brevets. His Joshua Tree to Las Vegas 300 km brevet is probably his most popular. It has almost 9000' of climbing in 190 miles and passes through the Mojave desert.
Almost impossible to ride solo, this route is still very challenging even when fully supported. This year the riders had to contend with powerful winds, together with extreme cold once the sun went down (well, cold for Southern California anyway).
On the way we passed through Amboy and Roy's Diner (featured in many films, music videos, and television shows), Primm - for people who are too lazy to drive another 40 miles to Vegas to gamble, and, of course, Las Vegas. The scenery is amazing - huge open spaces, long climbs and descents, and surprisingly good road surfaces.

Probably not in this form. The permits are too expensive although it's possible Willie will find a way.
