  • Can I ride a 200km bike ride just seven weeks after my heart attack? How will it feel and what will my time be?
I rode with the PCH Randonneurs group on the SART reversal 200km bike ride. It's a 125 mile bike ride with 3000'+ of climbing. I was amazed and gratified to find I am feeling no ill effects from my heart attack and surgery.
I completed the ride in 9:28 with an average moving speed of 14.5 mph despite a moderate headwind moving in on the return leg. My target was 10:00 with a 14 mph average so I'm very happy with the result.
I was able to ride the 100km out and 100km back while consuming fewer calories than I would have thought possible. I lost a full pound in one day. It went so well, I'm going to ride their 300km ride next month.

    Terry,
Well now your comment about the cardiologist during lunch is a tad more profound. Nice meeting and riding with you, that is until you dropped us.
    Well done sir.

Now let me get this straight.
You put the lime in the coconut and mixed them both together...
Oh wait, that can't be right because hey who listens to their dr after a heart attaack & stent.
And then goes racing after Shai, not eating as long as possible, except for a good In-n-Out burger, then bonks. You're certifiable, sir.
Happy New Year, hope you make it through this one on the low down.
Just wondering what you will tell the doc.

Hi Vickie, good to hear from you. It seemed like a good idea at the time. I'm totally pumped I could stay with Shai. I think without the mechanical and the bonk I was on for a 9 hour 200k. Maybe next time.
