Hi Greg. Do you know where is the CMU 2 in the battery pack? It has imbalance in this module and it stop charging after couple of minutes up to 1 hour. I want to replace this module. I will really appreciate if you help me . Regards Darek
Thanks for the Video, Its a subject that I will have to look into in the years to come. Are these battery packs in good condition, or do they contain Dud cells? would they be fine to install in a vehicle? It was really nice to her an Australian accent on this subject.
Hi and thanks for watching. I have not found an issue with any of the battery packs I have sourced. Which is probably due to me choosing the packs carefully, making sure they are from vehicles with low mileage and have not been damaged i.e. in accidents etc. The LEV40 and LEV50 are amazing lithium ion cells, and can be used for all kinds of projects.
@@gregoinc4987 So is it possible to measure voltage right there on the salvage yard on the power terminals before opening the pack, so you don't buy a flood damaged or shorted battery?
I don't have pictures yet. It was just yesterday my car died, then I saw wierd values with canIon. Cells 61 thru 68 were at high voltages (maybe 325V) and temperature censors 46 thru 51 showing 205°C. There aren't any repair shops nearby so its a DIYer. Any help is welcome and much apriciated

My iMiev has this fault code P1A44 bmu leak detected , causing it to run in safety mode , is the bmu located inside the battery pack it selfe ?

What is the OEM voltage output of the battery pack?
How are they configured in series and parallel what is the voltage of each module?
Is it possible to replace the batterie packs by lifepo pack?
Extremely unlikely. The design of the packs is proprietary and utilises Mitsubishi components.

What did you do with removed batteries? If it was for a solar project, can you share what you did.
The cells that were removed ended up in a number of projects, for example a remote telemetry unit that was solar powered.
