It's amazing to watch the crowd at a Fred gig everyones heads are bobbing and it's smiles all round. What a guy. Had the pleasure of playing with him at Celtic Connections before.
I just can't understand how Fred's interpretations may have any bad advice. Some people feel very important themselves and hope get applause for being considered as experts or judges. Piper for 20 years, I consider myself at a beginner when I hear and see Fred. Not only he is one of the greatest piper of this generation , but a talented composer.
How good is this?!! Kansas city hornpipe must be the happiest tune ever composed. (Thanks tomtscotland, this posting and your other posting of this tune from transatlantic sessions never fail to put a smile on the face of this exiled Scot). What an amazing piper Fred is.
tomtscotland@ Thank you very much I cannot wait to see it! I really enjoyed this concert!! MrPharn@ Sí, sorteaban un auténtico kilt escocés y me tocó asi que puedo considerarme afortunada.
Agreed. I see far too much of this sort of thing in piping. As far as I'm concerned, if the piper is making people tap their feet, dance, or whatever, then he is "piping correctly". I've seen scads of pipers that by the time they included all peeves, crochets, gracenotes and whatever in their very correct recitation, had lost the lilt, cadence and feeling of the tune altogether. I firmly believe that making people dance, move about, and have a good time is far more important than pleasing other pipers.
@xeniadono Hi there - glad you found this video - you certainly seem to be enjoying this tune. I've got another of Fred's to upload - hopefully this weekend. However don't think it is the the Passing Places tune. You appear at very end :)
I have been looking for this for ages!! I am the Spanish girl who won the kilt in this concert (I am the red haired woman appearing at the beggining of the video). Have you got the Passing Places one? Me and my friends were so stunned that we forgot to record it! It would be really nice to see it! Thank you for uploading it!!
@xeniadono More from Fred in next couple of days. Meanwhile you should have a look at my latest upload "Cornes" - also at Piping Live. Seems you liked Cornes too!
Brilliant Tom, thanks! I have been looking for this ever since I saw it on piping live. I don't suppose you have the other set he played in the same program? Cheers
As much as you sought this video those of us who had it were in a total thrall as to who was the stunningly petty woman with the red hair.!!! I guess now we know!

I'm from Kansas City, and I approve of this hornpipe.

Celte in France: How could anyone listen to this and *not* crack a smile or chuckle outright? I know I can't!
Prodigal, genius, savant.
Never get tired of listening to this - Fantastic!
How can anybody say they don’t like the pipes, listen.
Fred Morrison had talent and plays with his left which is so hard.. But he is talented I love the
Pipes beautifully smoothing.
Also plays with his right - wouldn't be able to play so many good tunes if he didn't :-)
love this tune . makes me feel so good.
Brllliant work! I could listen to this for days on end.

Pure magical. Gifted. Gonna throw away my pipes. (Jokin I'm not). How come he is not on TV across Ireland and US. When you see the rubbish that's on.

Class playing Fred looking forward to seeing you play again at Tyrone pipers day 2018! Master of Bagpipes (All kinds) lol
Jaysus, judging who is the best piper is all very subjective, why don't you just enjoy the tune!!!

Does anyone know the chords that the Guitarist is playing?
Ciaran Sinclair this is the first comment on a piping video asking for gutair chords! Sorry I don't even know I want them too

+Liam Gaule I think he already is asleep pal.
There not bored they are listening to the smoothing relaxing song and falling asleep
JEES that crowd are dead
Lots of people sitting there like they are bored to tears.
