@J2OLDS Actually yes, it is that much fun. He's kind, gentle, patient, and funnier then hell. he's doing a small pipe program in October and again in February... all in Washington, near Seattle
I wonder if this is what taking lessons from Fred Morrison would be like. It seems like he's taking Stewart Liddel along for the ride and slowing down till Stewart catches up. Would be so much fun.
@nateprentice not playing anything, going through the chanter "fingering" before attaching glaze, bag and drone, avoids the torture till he has the movement and tune synchronised (or played) in head, hand and instrument...or near enough not to horrify himself into quitting.
A fake electric sound, with a master musician, on real pipes. I don't like electric chanters. They are fake. If you play the pipes, you know about reeds, and pressure, and balance, and how you need to squeeze hard sometimes, and softly others... so much feeling goes into real pipes. This electric, is just monotone uniform robotic shit, with no feeling in it. Not impressive, (just fingering) and shouldn't be encouraged. might as well play a computer game. NO
That might just be the most I've ever, ever enjoyed pipe music. Holy Smokes!!!!! Well played Gents!!!!
Love watching mr Morrison
Playing

Very cool! Fred always seems to have fun when he plays; this might be his secret?

If you didn't know these two are both world class pipers, you'd think that they were a couple of ijjets pissin' abot....

You also need to consider, where does the main melody come from in a set of pipes. Yeah that’s right the chanter! Which you need good fingers for! 🙄
Debbie downer lol
Also the guy has won the Glenfiddich.
